    I get it, but not worthy of an upgrade if you already have an MPC (Live, Live2, One, One+, X). I do dig your channel, tho. I would get jacked if Akai could work in disk streaming into the MPC platform. (It's in the Force, which has the same processor). Right now, I'm putting longer stems on the 404-mk2, and triggering via midi.

    • @LiftedNoise

      That's one thing I was asking for before plugins where a things. Streamline and no load times for keygroups would of been nice. Even still with the lag you get switching through presets.

      @@LiftedNoise I'm into performing. I used to try to use Ableton to perform, but things were too complicated (and unreliable) and if you have a laptop in front of you, it is hard to engage with people and visa versa. I'm trying to figure out if my MPC Live is up to performing. I like the pads on the MPC, but in a live set environment, the context switching is a real downer and gets me out of the flow. For me, right now, its the SP and the Digitakt. Digi on drums, SP for stems (bass and melody). SP for hits. MPC goes back in the closet until it can play a 1hr long set. It has such potential, and damn I love the pads. Totally fine for beatmaking, but not quite up to snuff for the stage.

    That actually might seal the deal for me, sold my live 2 last year since I kept using my Force because of the quicker workflow. But I do miss having an MPC for those moments when I feel nostalgic about the MPC workflow regardless that it takes me longer to crank out a beat. At first the Keys 37 didn't seem like it was it, and I felt I had to sit this one out and wait for what's next, but this feature you highlighted makes a ton of sence with my setup and might push me over the edge. I'm gonna give it a few more weeks, but have to thank you for reporting this feature it's something that was sorely lacking in other models for me personally, that is.

    • @LiftedNoise

      Does seem like som of these features should be standard but I cant complain. They are headed in a nice direction. The force workflow huh.. 🤔 I been curious but I think whatever your used to is always going to work best. Thanks for dropping in with the comment 🙏 🍻

    Inspiring video 👍! I never tried to connect USB-B 2.0 plug to USB-B 3.0 socket😁, but it works! Would be nice to have the MPC Keys 37 as an audio interface in standalone mode too, like the Yamaha MOXF does, for instance. Thus no reason to change gear; I will stay with the MPC Live II und use 16 channels of Bluetooth midi to trigger VSTs within my PC, DAW or iOS devices. By using the 2 additional USB-A connectors, I can simultaneously connect 32 additional USB hardware devices like all the Waldorfs, Novations, Moogs, Dave Smiths, Arturias and Dreadboxes, even the good old Sequential Pro-One attends the setup through the CV ports of the MPC. So the MPC became the DAW for all DAWs, literally.

      Yea, man, I think you're going to love it! I can't take my hands off it 😆 I don't really do the software cause standalone is great! But if I was going to pair this with a laptop, I'd run kontakt on the desktop without a daw and sequence it with the MPC through USB.

  • @Kevinjames0976
    @Kevinjames0976 8 месяцев назад

    You can do this with the keys 61 ..but I believe your are right , it still needs to be in controller mode to work, and absolutely does not work in standalone. I am sure the 61 will get an update to allow this. It would be a huge miss for people who already have the 61 like myself. I have not really used controller mode until recently , and it’s extremely frustrating getting all of the midi mapping on logic to use in controller mode with synth multiple gear. You have to daisy chain your midi and then still use the usb to a AI to work with your computer, the 61 does allow audio and midi but lots of work around to get it to play nice .

    • @LiftedNoise
      @LiftedNoise  8 месяцев назад +1

      I think the best solution is using a midi interface or some audio interfaces have midi io built in. There are also usb to midin5 pin cables out there that can work.

    Excellent video. I have an MPC X and wanted to use that in conjunction with the key 37 just to have more options, can they be used together in standalone mode? if so what would be the best connection to pair them, thanks for any info!

    • @LiftedNoise
      @LiftedNoise  8 месяцев назад

      I have the mpc live 2, and the only way I really use them together is by moving the SD card back and forth. I'll start a project on the live at work and then move the project over to the key 37 at home to work on it some more. The simplest way of syncing them together that I can think of is using a midi cable out from one into the other. I guess the benefit from this would be an increased amount of plugins you could run. Why do you want to connect them? What are you trying to do exactly?

    • @IdaPappy1
      @IdaPappy1 8 месяцев назад

      I wanted to connect them to have more drum pad options and to use the keys as well, like 32 pads instead of 16, basically just having an increased amount, and my thought was exactly what you were saying was to connect it via midi cable, I was just wondering if one would cancel out some of its functionality, like for instance the keys would work on the 37 and not the drum pads when midi'd to the X. thanks for responding, I really appreciate it!

    Does anyone know?
    Can you use USB B of Key 37 to *output* the L/R audio of a sequence?
    Asking as my mixer (a Yamaha MG10XU) has a USB B 2input/2output that allows for monitoring signal while NOT sending that monitored signal to the stereo out (i.e. this allows monitoring MPC tracks while laying down vocals, guitar, bass etc thru mixer into MPC).

So my other thought was I can just use garage band iPhone to this doc I have then to the capture card the to obs then stream on discord. The doc is meant for a steam deck but it has usb ports.
