Douglas Fairbanks, Jr is such a fascinating, impressive man. Beautiful man. 💗
We need more people like Mr. Fairbanks.
So glad Mr. Fairbanks introduced me to this poem.
The most amazing man... elegant, heroic, intelligent and utterly charming! My dream man through and through!!
Well said! He really did have it all!
He came out of WWII with a chest full of medals from three different countries. A genuine hero both for sheer bravery in battle and for the brilliant diversionary tactics he created for amphibious landings - a major contribution to the war effort.
THANK YOU for mentioning that ! A lot of people don't know about Mr Fairbanks' stellar military career ! What a class act in so many ways !
I didn’t! Thank you
Merv was such a gracious and "at easy" talk host. a real "master of ceremonies".
Doug, Junior was such a charming and intelligent man! I met him once adn he was just as I had imagined.
That is wonderful to hear ! THANKS for sharing ! What a suave fellow & class act ! :-)
I realize it is kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Zavier Jakob I watch on Flixzone. Just google for it =)
wow...that was from his heart, n I'm sure he was a true friend
He always stayed so handsome and charming. I’d die to have met him
Elegant, fascinating, pleasant and spontaneous, I like when he laugh
Nine months before this clip, Mr. Griffin had Douglas Fairbanks Jr. on his show. Also on the show that night was singer Tiny Tim, in his first national televised appearance ever! Totally beat out Laugh-In and Johnny Carson by two years!
what a lovely man
What wonderful accent have Mr Fairbanks Jr! Is "middle atantic"?
No cue cards my friend merely a window into a culture who were well read.
Well said and well put !
He was a subservient stage actors as well!
It appears like he is reading to me.
How Joan Crawford could have betrayed such a well spoken and handsome man I will never know.
she just was not in his class
She had other stuff going on
@@satori03 She had no class at all
He admitted that they both had affairs during their marriage. He was only 19 and she was a bit older than him when they married, not an ingredient for fidelity. He was a beautiful man who married again shortly before he was 30, he was married to his first wife for 50 years, definitely one of the rare marriages to last until death.
My best friend is me.The only one in 6 1/2 billion I trust. They need to bring back that combination of elegance and manliness. What the hell,I'll just bring it back.
Never heard that poem before! Wonderful
Of the classic film Actors DFJr., was the handsomest. Yes, even more so than, Cary Grant.
Carolyn Argabright Aww, no one was better looking than Cary Grant! Except for Clark Gable other than Clark no one comes close to Cary Grant!
He was no Rondo Hatton, but Doug Jr was indeed quite good looking !
I agree. He was very underrated in every way.
Harold Lloyd.. See 'His Royal Slyness' .. !.. My OH My ..!!.. Male Beauty / Pulchritude /Understated Swagger ☆..Lloyd's Handsomeness is Unmatched .♡◇♡ The Original Ladykiller.. Drop Dead Gorgeous Harold Lloyd was ..♡.. and will always be.. ..Just my humble opinion
The ambient street noise leaking into the studio at 2:25 is unusual, and Merv makes a comment about it.
thx for posting. anyone here know where i could find a clip of DFJ reciting Kipling's poem "If?"
Funny comment. Now, I'm looking at His feet.
there were cue cards. all of that discussion was prearranged. seldom does a live TV show not know exactly what's going to happen
