Thanks a lot! It was quiet and experience for a first time restoring a car, but great experience going thru and learning everything. Best of luck for your project, those old truck deserve some love 🙌🏻😉
Beautiful. I need to do my dad's 73 but no one has money and economy sucks. I can work hard I got ok mechanical knowledge and minor body shop skills. Where does one start? Such an inspiration.
Yes it is not cheap, the engine being the most expensive, those 360-390 engine parts are really expensive! I started by cleaning the frame and so I thought "I better do it right!", and then everything had to follow, it is an addiction I think. But it took time 3-4 years. Good luck with yours 😉
My first set of wheels was a '73 F-100 Custom. Man this takes me back. Fantastic job. A few years ago my first girlfriend DM'd me a picture of one identical to mine, 1000 miles away and 20 years later haha. I guess guys aren't the only ones who never forget their first truck. Congratulations!
Awesome truck, I did a resto on a 73 F250 Highboy and went with the 428 FE 4speed, they have TONS of torque. @ 15:20 you have a spark from a wire to the oil filler cap. I went with black as well, but my paint is now 20 years old.
Hi Karl, thanks for the nice comment. Wow you have the vision of an eagle!!! I saw the spark now thatvyou told me!!! 428, I wish I had the budget, but 395 is already a lot of fun. Not a fan of the rag join for steering, it does not feel tight, I believe the highboy 4x4 didn't have a rag joint.
@@lesagecustoms4668 I got lucky with the 428, a local shop had a few and I snagged one. Got some 67 GT heads from another local shop. I was running the Predator carb, Crower cam, headers and she had so much torque it was damn hard to drive. I swapped over to a Speed Demon carb, but still have to really feather the clutch because of all the torque.

@@lesagecustoms4668 yeah its rusted and in bad shape the owner before me welded a plate in the rear end by the leaf spring and then I recently discovered two cracks both in the front where the steering box mounts so i figure if I just build onto a frame in alot better condition then I shouldn't have anymore problems with it because literally everything on my truck is in great shape except the frame
Hi Herbies. Thank you very much, it take time if you want to do it right, time, money, blood and sweat, but it is worth it. I still have some work to do but I do make small progress. Good luck with yours and share with us 😉👍🏻
Frenchy in Florida well done my friend, I did similar with 79 Ranger XLT ....and back then a lot of friends laughed at thinking I was really dumb buying an old ( mind you I was already looking they prices risen up on USA markets then I rushed and bought the first good one I found here in Australia, now they are big dollars) all the best enjoy your classic ford truck
Love the work Frenchy. I have a '74 FE 360 long bed. White over dark dark green. I hope to do as good a job as you have one day to mine. Already have the heads rebuilt with Manley racing valves and springs by Race Engine Design.
Wow! Super nice truck and great color my friend. Love the video and love the truck! I’m a big fan of the Ford 73-79 yeah buddy :D check out my videos on my trucks. Not as good as yours but still nice 👍🏾 thanks for the video !
This is some incredible work it looks like it is took a while, I just have a small question were you able to add a steering box to make the power steering easier on the truck at all?
You can swap the steering box , they fit the same but need to add the power steering pump, and replace the crankshaft pulley to ad the v belt, I did it on my 77 also swapped the the steering column with a tilt column, good luck on your project .
Yeah I know, truck is still not finish, working on the trim, still have the interior to finish too!!! That would be easy if I didn't have to worry about money 😉
Man, you did a beautiful job. This is a truck that can be loved for another almost 50 years. If you don't mind me asking, approximately how much did the restore cost? I want to get me another F-100 eventually and was wondering. Thank you.
@@lesagecustoms4668 hey really enjoyed your video and it gave me some insight on how to go about a restoration. I'm working on a 77 Ford F-250 and that figure helps me set a budget and a goal. Thanks for your help and the trucks coming along really well.
Eric J Thanks for the Video! I'm building one just like yours (except color) and this helps. I have same 360 that will be converted to 390. what do you refer to as a torque plate?
Dude... Badass! You've brought that gem back to life! Good job. I just got me a 73 F100 long bed, with a 302, and hope to do it some justice.
