    The tin foil is what is causing the smoking , when you use the foil it acts as a heat deflector and it gets hotter. your not getting the proper air flow and heat distribution while using the air fryer or convection mode. Line the pan with just the parchment paper. Try that and let us know how it works for you.

      Also use as small a drip pan as you reasonably can; if the food doesn't fill the fryer "basket," move it to the middle, and use a pan that is only as large as the area of the food, so as to allow as free air circulation as is feasible.

    I often bake my bacon. I start with a cold oven and have never had smoke. I don’t think the air fry is needed for bacon, other than it is probably faster.

      I have a full blog post review you can read here hollishomestead.com/air-fry-range/ I would make sure the drip pan you choose is large enough for the air fry basket to fit inside it. For two reasons 1 when preparing food to air fry it' a great way to catch crumbs and two to avoid and drips from getting onto the bottom while cooking. Stock up on parchment paper and heavy-duty tinfoil. You can join my FB group here facebook.com/groups/2675221812792563

    My Samsung gas oven does the same thing. I even boiled chicken wings aired them out and dried them and then put them on my air fry oven. Never again! Had a drip pan under and the fat splatters all over. Then I have to clean the oven. It does fine with frozen fries, and simple frozen items.
    And the fryer rack is a mess to clean.

      I actually scored it from the Goodwill for $4.99 it is 22x16 like this one on amazon! *affiliate link amzn.to/2HeFs6D I've seen so many people using a pan that isn't large enough. That would defiantly lend to more debris and smoke when air frying!

      OMG...the same thing happened to me yesterday. It was my first time using the oven air fryer to do chicken wings for the super bowl. It smoked so bad my eyes were burning and the smoke detector went off. I followed the directions to a T. This is what lead me here to see what and how it happened. My eyes are STILL burning! I just purchased this Frigidaire range last week.

      That woman who lived to... I think it was 116 was interviewed one day, and the person asked her what she ate, to be healthy enough to live so long. She said that she ate bacon for breakfast, every day - and, when she wanted a snack at other times... more bacon. EDIT: Her name was Susannah Mushatt Jones. She was born on July 6, 1899, and died at the age of 116 years 311 days on May 12, 2016. For breakfast, she always ate four strips of bacon along with scrambled eggs and grits. She also ate bacon throughout the day. She never smoked or drank alcohol, slept a lot, and apparently had a good attitude - and ate BACON, lol. It... might also be significant that she was only married once, for approximately five years, at a relatively young age, and had no children.

      @@amberhollis893 Too right! Pork, in general, got a bad rap quite a long time ago. It's not inherently bad - it's just generally full of parasites and, at the time, there was no real way to refrigerate it, and cooking methods basically consisted of burning the exterior while not completely cooking the interior. This was not a good combination of factors, especially if one lived in a rather warm region. Some people's leaders ended up declaring that pork was not fit to eat - a reasonable thing to decide, at that time, in that place. The... problem, I suppose, was that those people's leaders also happened to be the heads of their respective religions. And the problem with that is that much, perhaps most, of what they advised... was incorporated into those religions. And when that happens, things like the discovery of electricity, the invention of electric refrigerators, a basic understanding of parasites and their life cycles (and germs, hygiene, et cetera), modern cooking appliances, and knowledge of safe meat temperatures, well... don't seem to matter?
      Lest I be thought a religious bigot, I'll mention that a pope was once convinced to declare that a very, very large rodent... was a fish. Capybaras are 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 feet long, up to two feet high at the shoulder, generally weigh 75 to 150 (but up to 201) pounds... have four legs, feet, and two ears - and, therefore, look almost exactly nothing like a fish. But, at the time, the Catholic team was doing some aggressive recruiting in South America, and the local populace wasn't all that interested in being forbidden to eat their favorite giant rodent (which is actually both tasty and healthy to eat) during what added up to a significant portion of the year, so... a Papal bull that declared the species to be a type of fish was obtained. This happened in 1784, according to Wikipedia, although accounts of the exact year vary. As far as I know, this decree is still in effect. . . .

    • @wesgregg6451
      @wesgregg6451 Год назад

      That might matter; these ovens have been said to initially heat above their set temperature in air fry mode. I forget the reason, but it is, apparently, intended to function like that. Cotronics Corp. makes and sells ceramic paper that can be used in a continuous heat environment of 2,300°F to 3,000°F. It's not exactly inexpensive, but you could probably reuse it many times.
