ALL ABOUT CALL OUT: EFFECTIVE & EFFICIENT RADIO COMMUNICATION

This training session is designed to teach & practice the LAFD CERT Call Out Team member in the art of effectively & efficiently communicating over two-way radio. The radio types covered include LAFD 800 MHz radio & FRS/GMRS radio. The greater emphasis is ACTUAL VOICE COMMUNICATION using these devices. The first part (90 minutes) is spent talking about LAFD's Metropolitan communication and the types of radios used. We also talk about the "5W's" which comprise a standard message: Who are you calling? Who are you? Where are you? What's the situation? What do you need? After 90 minutes, the members in attendance try their hand at communicating a message based on a "situation" they are placed in. This session is geared for the Call Out Team member, BUT is beneficial for ALL OF OUR MEMBERS.
