Just superb, these episodes are so enjoyable. Why can't all restoration shows be like this? Exactly the right amount of fun, instruction and entertainment, well does chaps
Fergie Thursday going fortnightly is a good thing. It means the series will last longer going through the winter months. That's got to be a good thing. And another great episode with great engineering and great banter. Great stuff Chaps
I generally use a smear of grease to keep the rocker cover gasket in place whilst fitting the cover. No idea if that's ok to do but it works for me. Still no dancing, not even a little jig to that music. I can only live in hope you're practising your moves for the final episode. Can't wait. Great vids.
@@Torquestamiya Totally understand mate, it's so damned good I could watch it every day at least. Brilliant series of videos, you are Gav are hilarious and I like the innuendos that you drop subtly into each episode, it reminds me of a carry on sketch 🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁 Are you doing a new series of Goblin Garage at all? Take care lads 👍🏁
Gav was salivating at the thought of his mum`s Victoria sandwich. I would debate that is the best in the world because I thought my mum makes the best in the world. More proof please. Brilliant episode, you work really well together, really enjoyable to watch. No problem with bi-weekly, the content is always worth waiting for.
Great progress! And two weeks is great - you guys gotta stay happy ! And... some of us have already been house-trained by Project Binky !! Big Macs and Victoria Sponges (or whatever they are!) all round 👍🏻
well lads what and when will be the next build, just in the middle of rebuilding my own 20 tef , yere series is a great help to refresh the memory on these old beauties , this is my third 20 now , sold the first 2 ,unwantingly i mite add , this one ill keep , its getting too hard to get these tractors these days , keep the shows coming lads ,it keeps us fidgeters happy
Well lads another fantastic episode. Yas have been a great help as I'm in the middle of a fergie engine rebuild when I went to take off my timing chain I noticed it has a split link in it leaves it handier getting it off and on. Keep up the work lads
Just caught this. So addictive. Absolutely no engineering or restoration background, but love these type of shows. Your episodes are well put together with great music - who chose those soundtrack? Looking forward to completing the series and watching the Fergie run - fingers crossed. Thanks you two for the great work.
After seeing your post n social media I decided to check the series out. I’m hooked, I had to binge watch from the beginning. Now subscribed and waiting for the next episode. Only downside.....I’m now heading over to eBay to look at tractors. Keep up the good work guys
Am still here Jimmy & Gav hope you're well. Glad to hear that you are getting a bit more work in now yeah I understand what you mean as I am content creator myself it does take a while to edit it all out. And if you have other job's thing's can get on top of you. That was good timing lol.😂 Another great episode mate's.
Another great episode guys. Stupid question time! Would putting grease on the shaft help the pulley install or is this a no-no? Looking forward to 2 weeks time 👍😊
Hi guys enjoying the build, long time since I was working as a mechanic (40 years) but I think your timing should be set at TDC on No1 cylinder on the firing/compression stroke if I remember correctly you could find the injector pump delivering into a cylinder with open inlet/exhaust valves. Hope this helps.
You can use the "rule of nine" for setting tappets on a 4 cyl engine. When valve 1 is fully open, set gap on 8 (1+8=9), when valve 2 is fully open, set gap on 7 (2+7=9) and so on
She's getting there guys, bit concerned with Jimmy's feeler gauges being "old and worn" must have lost a few thou over the years, better than my set though, where I once tried to set tappets on a HA Vauxhall viva with the engine running, per the manual, and ended up with feelers like crumpled kitchen foil!🙄
@@Torquestamiya Yes - the pushrod Viva engine. It didn't have a rocker shaft; the rockers were cupped pressings which pivoted on a self-locking nut with a hemisperical lower surface, screwed onto a stud pressed into the head. As the adjuster nut was stationary it was easy to adjust the tappets with the engine running allegedly 😂 gave up and did it stationary in the end
Hello! When put timing cover on how do you know that chain tensioner is in correct position? and how do you know when chain is in correct tension? I have same kind project and I fixed camshaft keyway, because that was worn out.
Because I live in The States, I deal with both metric and Imperial (what we call SAE) fasteners all the time. All standard Imperial nuts and bolts have a metric spanner size that will fit them.

Stroker, shafts, holes, shafts in/missing holes, coming together.....it just got worse Jimmy 😂🤣 Was it hard to insert this in the vid? Did it just go over Gavs head? 🤣😂

Grease away! We used oil, it was just gripping on the key way a little.
A bit of lube never hurt anybody!
