My home beach, as i live in Corpus Christi, TX. Just using the car wash is not gonna cut it. Get a garden sprayer and vinegar to neutralize the salt. A lot of people i know who are on the beach all the time, use Boiled Lin seed oil to spray the whole undercarriage. After you spray it, have to let it dry for 12 hours before hitting the beach.
November to April is usually the only time of year when I will head down there. Less people, more moderate climate, and sometimes the lowest of tides. We are lucky to have PINS, SPI, and Matagorda in Texas along with a few other undeveloped beaches that you can traverse in a 4WD and camp remotely.
Awesome that as a family you all work together so well . And many thanks for helping clean up that beautiful beach , and that you show that on your trips . Every over lander and reg Person should bring out more then you take in , would make are buitiful Wild areas keep looking awesome . Thanks for sharing this great video . Nice man o war . From Steve stott in sutherlin Oregon u.s.a.
Love it! Awesome video. Hope your Jeeps clean up well. After our stay on Padre we got back to Colorado and turned on the heater and fan for the first time and sand blew everywhere. Lol. We weren't expecting that.
Hey guys! This a great tips that might be helpful to avoid the rust on your chassis/undercarriage. Coming from an African country "madagascar" while we are off roading or playing on beach/sand/seasalt etc...after a good wash, we sprayed the entire undercarriage with "diesel" fuel. it will stop and prevent any rust and also any mud/dirt won't stick on it at all. It act like a constant WD-40. Cheers!
Hey guys, I love watching your adventures! I also love it when you tell us the date. It would be fun to see a go pro view from your pups point of view too. 🤗
In a pinch, a spare can also be used as a deadman. Not as easy to get out yet works. Been too long since I went to PINS. Saw snow there on the beach in 1974.
I've seen someone use the Deadman style as well. but they dug a much bigger hole and used their spare tire to leverage themselves out from wet sand. thought you could try or keep in mind.
Epic is a perfect description of how great it is to spend time with your family the way you all do! I enjoy watching your family videos and hope you all decide to always Keep Jeepin'.!
Glad you guys had a good time at our beaches. Might want to go to South Padre island next time. Much wider beaches. A bit more trash on the beach due to the tides but much wider.
Epic for sure. Not sure who got in the cool water, but the gulf waves \ Jeep drive by was epic!!!! Also liked the disclaimer about washing of salt water haha.
Great video!! Definitely need to pick up one of those Deadman recovery units. My wife and I need to add south padre island to our bucket list. Looks like the adventure so far is awesome!! Safe travels, thanks for sharing!!
Ive always wanted to own a carwash out on north padre haha MAAAAAAN!!!!!!! I love that beach! I have a vintage plastic ninja turtle on a shelf that I rescued during one of the beach clean ups!
Humans really need to change the way we treat Nature, these plastic trashes are the greatest threat to marine and our environment. Appreciate the great work and cleanup process and at the same time seeing campers coming together to cleanup, great lesson.
It was Clean Up Australia, Day last Sunday, 1st March. it was created by a sailor Ian Keirnan (Dec'd) who whilst sailing around the world, noticed how much plastic was in the ocean as that always lands on land due to tides from far away places... It doesnt matter how much rubbish you find around really sickening someone will always pick it up, even the smallest piece pick it up, we were hiking around Dove Lake, in the pristine Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, found lolly (candy) wrappers, I picked it up and put in my pocket found it again months later oh I remember that...
Many a vehicle has been lost along the National Seashore. People underestimate what moving water can do once it's around the tires. A vehicle goes under quickly. I've personally seen vehicles go under. A sad sight. Also had two friends that woke up in the morning and found their vehicle surrounded by water. Unusually high tides that typically happen in October came in overnight. A Coast Guard helicopter flew over them and via PA told them they could fly them out and they could come back for the vehicles in a couple of weeks or they could just stay with the vehicles and wait. The two wives said hell no on waiting and hoping and everyone was flown out. We went back as a group and recovered the vehicles about 3 weeks later.
Great video, luckily we have some beaches too at our place. TIP ====> Use the Pitt and roll option in the Offroad pages to check the level of your Jeep!! Greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇨🇦✌️
Thanks for another captivating adventure. Lived in Texas for 10 years and only experienced the coast in your video. BTW, what type of radios are you using, CB, Ham, GMRS...?
Awesome! I wish I would have seen yall. I was at the beach cleanup and would have loved to talk to Your Amazing Family! I am bummed I didn't meet yall and was so close. But maybe I'll see yall down the road! Safe travels.
I've been wondering... the kids are growing up... how old are they at this point? I think that Caroline is past high school at this point, right? Is Pete? What are their plans? Continue to travel with the family... or is anyone going to head off to college somewhere at some point?
I believe Peter Sr. said it's called "The Original Fire Reflector and that it was coming to market sometime this month. Like you, I've yet to find it anywhere on the Internet.
Great videos! RTT question - I noticed you went from Tepui to two CVTs. What are your opinions of each? Did you wear out the Tepui or just want to upgrade?
Thanks for making me feel old😟 Born in 1969, a year after the national sea shore and a year before I graduated high school! On the up side I was overlanding (it wasn't called that back then) before you could drive. Also remember when KC came out with their landing light based desert racing lights. Keep up the good work!
It’s called the original fire reflector and it should be available for sale very very soon. In the meantime you can follow the inventor on Instagram at @MCRanchOverland Hope this helps, have a wonderful day.
I lived all my life fishing up and down padre island and have never seen a deer. It's not common since it's an island, ain't no telling how he got there.
Major wash down from all that sea salt...... Great video Family.

We had the same sand issue after a few days on the beach. We had our windows down too much. Lol.
Haha. That would’ve been a nice surprise. We are still finding sand in unexpected places.😀

Thanks 🙏🏻 and yes you’re right. 👍🏻
The biggest lesson I have learned on Padre is to air down. I’m that guy that learns the hard way🤪🤷♂️

Padre Island used to be partly privately owned. Gov't had to buy it to make it a Nat'l Park.
Epic lifestyle!

Dang Caroline, you can play guitar girl! :0)
I've been wondering... the kids are growing up... how old are they at this point? I think that Caroline is past high school at this point, right? Is Pete? What are their plans? Continue to travel with the family... or is anyone going to head off to college somewhere at some point?
Where did you purchase the campfire reflector/wind screen featured at 10:18?
MrWinger1951 seriously I have been googling away but have not found it
I believe Peter Sr. said it's called "The Original Fire Reflector and that it was coming to market sometime this month. Like you, I've yet to find it anywhere on the Internet.
You mean 10:18 ..
Great videos! RTT question - I noticed you went from Tepui to two CVTs. What are your opinions of each? Did you wear out the Tepui or just want to upgrade?
What's the name of the platform that you used over the fire to cook?
Can you link it?
Just curious, were you headed southwest before you turned back. Lovely guitar solo!
What brand are those campfire wind deflectors?
You can preorder at mcranchoverland.com 👍🏻

Love your videos. How did the Milestars do on sand?
Wash that new Jeep good. Driving in all that salt water = rusted out Jeep lol
What is the windscreen when you make a fire ?
It’s called the original fire reflector and it should be available for sale very very soon. In the meantime you can follow the inventor on Instagram at @MCRanchOverland

who makes your awnings.
Pack out more than you pack in.
Make sure you really spray those jeeps down. Neither FCA or Toyota are known for their rust resistance
I lived all my life fishing up and down padre island and have never seen a deer. It's not common since it's an island, ain't no telling how he got there.
Interesting. It was a pretty big buck and I saw a doe the next morning as well. PINS is amazing!
Dad lives on Baffin Bay right on the water and we see deer swimming across 🤯.

Typical Americans lol. Don’t know tide charts and don’t turn back sooner but hey at least they washed the salt water off lol
They're Canadian.
