I forgot to mention, in the Bahrain lap, F1 22 was faster which is great! The F1 23 cars were designed to be slower, also last years cars in F1 22 did lap times that were too fast and unrealistic. I did a 1-30-191 in F1 23 and for comparison, the real life Pole this season from Max was a 1-29-708 so this is a great improvement in terms of accuracy! Graphically this game is stunning and runs much better, I was able to run Ray-Tracing and High settings, which is impossible in F1 22!
what is your f1 22 bahrain record?
Did you had to use 60fps?
Yes.
Couldn't tell you. I think it's like a 27-4 in TT
Beautiful, finally some optimisation 😂👏👏👏
Anyone else think the game looks so much better visually?
It does, not even bs'ing.
it looks more like F1 broadcasting this year with the yellow'ish color filter.
The sky is a lot less washed out and the lights look better. That kinda translates to the rest of the circuit too
Looks 99% the same.
Visually good on f1 22 but f1 23 does look better
I especially like how the rear lights reflect off the track in the rain, looks a lot better than last year!
Yep, forgot to mention it but it's a great improvement.
Replay camera angles at bahrain look so realistic in f1 23! so excited for this game
Track is so much better, complete rework.
Great stuff Tom! The graphics remind me of F1 2019 and 2010 mixed together.
This game should be a banger
Feels that way.
It feels every year that way, then they start rolling out patch and break everything. They keep trying fix things and do break other things...it keep repeating until they abbandon it for the new release game and it starts all over again😂
@@giogamer4825Basically the Fifa experience, where its very good for a month then dialed back to make the next game more appealing
@@RieveB777 Spot on!
Can't wait to watch your career mode 2023
This week's content has been killing it. Keep on the amazing job, Tom
Cheers man 💙
Such a good video! Much more insightfull than the other creators are doing with their standard 1 race videos
Just trying to do my best!
Great to see gameplay of f1 23 , looks great enjoyed the video especially comparing it side by side for both 22 and 23 😀
i wonder if the cars will sound more realistic to real life for each powertrain
hello! again, the best comparison video ive seen so far! actualy, i have to say im looking forward for this title despite graphics and animations looks almost the same again
Great video, nice insight and the games looking good. Always know who to trust with information on the handling and stuff👍
🤝
Only high speed tracks with set up being low will cause a car to spin when bottoming out on a kerb so it's a good change.
Hey Tom I was in both betas and one thing I noticed is that the tire performance gives up a lot around 20% wear. And by the time I would pit, I'd be going like 3 seconds a lap slower than on fresh rubber. It definitely doesn't seem like you can push your tires long and still do roughly the same speeds as you were before. The car behavior changes a lot too, to the point that traction becomes really hard, the car would step out a lot, and I'd notice a lot of understeer when I would try to turn into a corner.
Interesting, so softs are basically useless in the race
So I've heard, tyres die off in the race then. I'll find out when I do my 100% Race next week!
@@Tom97 It seemed to be much more dramatic in shorter races. In 50% races it was really noticeable but when I did a 100% race I didn't feel it as much. I hope they've tweaked it from the beta to the full release because it honestly felt pretty bad having a 20% worn set of tires suddenly feel like 75% worn tires in 22.
Woulden't that be more like real life considering how quickly the tiers die of acording to the drivers?
@@erikknudsenmork4536 I don't know. But to me 20% worn shouldn't mean that all of a sudden the car just has no grip anymore whereas a lap previous it would be nearly perfect. The sudden drop in performance was instantly noticeable the moment you went off that cliff. Like I said in my reply to Tom, it felt much more noticeable in shorter race distances like 50% and also 35%. I also did a 100% race during the last beta and it didn't become immediately noticeable, it was much more gradual.
F1 2020 is still the best version hands down.
When you said about the braking performance being different, did you see if the default setups had different brake pressures because that could’ve had an effect on the feeling?
Yes, both 100%. What I didn't check and makes it slightly innacurate, F1 22 by default loads Preset 4 Increased Top Speed, whereas F1 23 loads Preset 3 Default.
Great comparison, Tom! Waiting for more content
Tomorrow hopefully!
This is the 7th f1 23 video ever i watch but this the best one 🎉🎉
game is looking great looking forward to more videos
I can see the difference just in the time trial version of 23. More enjoyable of a game
Respect the other creators but your videos are the best mate, realistic gameplay is all we ask rather then i see other creators with unrealistic overtakes. Cant wait for f1 23 "we'll let max go, i am not gonna fight him" 😂👍🏼 and asking for safety car every race😂
Cheers man, 100% at some time next week!
Such an underrated youtuber🔥
💙
Ty Tom 👍👍
Game looks so much better. I’m super excited
Could you tell something about difference in force feedback, compared to F122?
Great content as always man, quick question. You mentioned that the graphics is maxed out. Which GPU are you running at the moment? 1440p or 4k? The game looks pretty decent, but I'm debating if to buy it on PS5 and play on 4k TV or stick with my 5700xt and 1440p monitor. ('22 runs at max settings with +/- 120fps)
Not maxed out. I said High, not Ultra High. But I'm using an NVIDIA 2080 Super Black on a 1440p Monitor. Due to league racing reasons and needing to be fast, I'm locked to 60FPS. But my monitor can do up to 165hz.
@@Tom97 Great, thanks for the info man.
@@Tom97 Could you also show a bit of cockpit view gameplay in next video as they have changed the info in the wheel a bit, just for the people that play in cockpit view. Thanks.
It's on the list! It's surprisingly easy this year!
I've drove medium TC since I started playing in 2019. And I've always wanted to go no TC, so I could Max out my potential. But just never got around to it. I just always tried to master medium as best I could. But with this new game coming out and with better traction. I am going to commit and do no TC. No better time than now I suppose
This is the game to try it!
Looks good
it looks like in those hairpins you should be using second gear rather than 3, which is why you were having some problems hitting the apexes
Possibly! It's going to take a while to train the muscle memory out of F1 22 habits
The noise of the Redbull engine is more different at high rpm compared to the F1 22
i woult like more predictability in the throttle, for me its very difficult to do corrections and i end up spinning
I've just got f1 23 and ive been playing 22 for a long time so im still adjusting, but why can't I i turn when im braking?
Great video mate! Looking forward to everyone's reaction when the game launches. I'm sure everyone will love it!
hey sorry for the question but I'm a complete layman will I be able to play this game on Nvidia GeForce gtx 1050ti, ram 16gb, intel core (TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.41 GHz ?? it seems to meet the minimum requirements but I just don't want to pass the bloopers that I will buy and it will jam ..... I will be grateful for any help, greetings 🙂
Do you guys think the brake force (early braking in F1 23) has a lot to do with rig? Meaning with a fanatec DD2 adjusting the brake force and such will improve it
No, I don't run a Fanatec.
Hopefully I can drive around Abu Dead Dhabi now without driving in pain
Did the steerring wheels got and update? Its hud seems pretty realistic compared to f1 2022 one, its a really nice detail
Yes, from the cars that we have.
I cant believe 22 didnt have back lights glow on the floor
Stunning game
The question in the game is , does rb19 is faster with drs like in real life or not
Where is the spray from car in front in rainy conditions in F1 23?
So late braking is improved even on turn in
There’s ray tracing on the tires guys :-)
if i havent played brakepoint1 and they took it off from the store... the f im i supposed to do with brakepoint2?
It needs a customizable steering wheel
f1 23 seems to have a bit more realistic gearing so im happy
I agree.
Bought every game since 2013 but i am honestly thinking about skipping this one:
Same thing as last year and before: No new handling model, focus on stuff outside the driving for monetization.
The current handling model doesnt cut it anymore, they can tweak traction/braking/etc. but compare it to real racing games with MODS (!!!) and you see how bad these cars behave driving wise.
Go through turn 1 in 2nd.
Is it still floaty handling? Nobody seems to be talking about the force feedback of the wheel. Thanks
No, it's gone. In TT at least, I'm yet to do a proper GP with AI.
@@Tom97 what about the force feedback though? Thanks
are you doing another driver career on this game?
Yes, I'm probably actually going to start with it.
@@Tom97ooo are we going to get a vote for what team we want you to drive for?
I think I've already got a great choice 👀
@@Tom97 you should carry a on with the Aston career as I presume your in the last season on f1 22 now they have a good car now it will definitely be fun!
@@Tom97okay!
They dont have launch control or do they.
In Conclusion: 23 is more Simulator tham arcade?
I genuinely love watching the comparison between the two games Tom. It honestly shows the faults to F1 22 automatically and I just genuinely like seeing the improvements of F1 23 through a side by side comparison. I genuinely have been doing my team career mode and also driver career mode and kn Bahrain in particular, traction is honestly terrible for me. I play on medium tc yet it feels awful plus the understeer on the controller is bloody terrible. Monaco on a pad for me is borderline impossible, especially the hairpin so I am hoping fhat F1 23 makes Monaco feel better personally. Loved the video :)
Cheers man! Hope this game will be better for you!
It already does look better judging from the starts, the traction being better and so on. I do believe this handling model is a huge positive and I cannot wait to get my hands on the game later this summer. Also can't wait to see more gameplay videos of it by you.
Did they updated Bahrein? I played the beta and watching the video I noticed it's different while in the beta I didn't
Yes, all the kerbs are flatter to drive on, and the surrounding exterior all changed.
am i the only one that thinks the dash on the steering wheel looks sick?
Good thing they sort of fixed the brakes, theu were just way too powerful and therefore very unrealistic, saw a video a few months ago comparing the iRacing W13 to the F122 one, at Interlagons, arriving at the Senna S, in F1 22 you brake later and scrub off speed waay quicker. The brakes in F1 are the best in the world, but they still respect the laws of physics
F1 2023 = ReShade
Looks very promising and im excited but man I really hate the overlay... they're just doing too much imo. 21/22 was clean, same with 2020. But hey, if the overlay is the worst thing about the new game then i'll be very happy.
We don't have the option to customise it in this build. I think once we get that it will improve, especially moving the Speedometer onto the Halo
is the ai in 23 still racing on the wet as if they were on a dry track like 22?
Haven't tested those particular conditions. Seemed Ok in the Full Wet at Imola.
Is the AI still on rails on the wet?
I don't buy games at full price, and despite F1 22's flaws I still like the game because it was my first "upgrade" since 2018 (I don't buy sports games each year). But all the good things I'm hearing about F1 23 when it comes to handling, and the additions of red flags and stuff...hmm, I'm conflicted. Buy now? Buy on sale later? I don't know 🤔
No need to feel pressured into a decision! Make a choice once everyone has put out their content!
Personally, i'd wait for a sale. These updates look barebone at best. CM tweaks handling EVERY year. So either they can't actually get the handling correct or they use it as a sell point. Graphics are pretty much exactly the same as f122 with a tiny amount of advertising updates, etc and track details are exactly the same down to puddle position. My advice, don't be tempted by the "new" game. It's an old game with a few new clothes.
So, the aston martin series are going to be transfered to f1 23?
No, I don't think so.
Haven't watched fully but Magnussen at 0:48 is all I needed to know AI hasn't improved one bit 😂
nah its better, just don't expect it to be perfect
thats one thing. ai dont turn in on you anymore. they will only do that if you are 3 wide into a corner and 1 of the 3 cars are not gonna make it through the corner.
I haven't done enough to say fully, but while that example is poor, they do seem better in wheel-to-wheel, but I need to do a proper race.
Fair enough, I appreciate the honesty and understand the optimism, can't wait for more on that in the future!
Brakes not the same rear locking
What wheel + wheel base do you use?
Thrustmaster TSPC Racer Open Wheel Addon with TLCM Pedals
@@Tom97 would you recommend the pedals as an upgrade to the g920 pedals?
Curious as to whether you think the simulation model is good enough that the changes in handling are in line with changes to the design characteristics of the real life cars or whether you think its purely a game mechanic, eg. based on player preference and feedback from F1 2022.
A bit of both? Probably 60-40 to the former.
I'm so aboard the hype train, really disappointed there is no PlayStation PSVR2 support, because I'm old and like plug and play.
But I'm ready to go, I love all motorsports but F1 is my favourite.
I understand why the birth rate has dropped, if I had racing games back in the early 90s like we do now I wouldn't be married with 3 adult children.
All you need now is a good racing setup, free internet porn and uber eats.
free internet corn 💀💀💀
Tom have u experienced a red flag yet
I know its early days and it will be patched but how come this years cars are slower in the new game but in reality are over a sec faster??
Great video btw Tom!!!
Becauee F1 22 is way too fast
@@NassimFTW good point
@@sandorolah1292 i know you already got a repsonse but basically the cars in f1 22 were built in game to be faster than they were in real life. in f1 23 they are built to be around the same speed as real life (at least the base cars, will have to see how they are with upgrades in career mode) so thats why they are slower than in f1 22.
They're not. I did a 1-30-1 at Bahrain, only 4 tenths off the 2023 Pole Lap. F1 22 was unrealistically fast.
@@Tom97 thanks for replying, keep up the good work Tom!!!
Any chance testing this with a pad?
it wont be the same as someone like am esports pro driving but go watch webby87's video he says some things about the controller experience
Next video! I'll be on it!
I play on controller and In F1 22 I simply couldn’t drive in the rain I play with no braking assist no traction control but I do use automatic but the thing in f1 2020 and F1 2021 I could easily drive in the rain and enjoyed.I’m not a bad driver whatsoever I’m not saying I’m Jarno Opmeer or something but I wasn’t a bad driver but on F1 22 I simply couldn’t drive in the rain
Got a pad related video up next!
The contrast of F1 2022 is better in the scenario and asphalt scenario.
The emission of global light on F1 2023, not realistic (is better on nightclubs, as they took the unreal belt of 22, ok but that alone, but emissions of posts from the posts got worse in 23), sunlight does not reach the Parts of the car, along with the track on the floor, where it should have parts of greater reflection and occlusion of sunlight.
I see that they only emulate, to the parts of the bolide car, to emit more light, but it is artificially, incomplete, does not convince. At this point in global lighting in cars, F1 2014 and later were more realistic.
Sad they couldn’t add Qatar and vegas to the gameplay
We don't have it in this build :/
Lando drove round Las Vegas
Yep, we don't have that build unfortunately.
@@Tom97 Will you be doing my team or driver career first off?
Career I think.
My findings from the beta:
Higher diff needed - but I've been told that might just be a me thing
Trail breaking even more critical! Lockups are very harsh
(Naturally) Higher break bias needed, 61 is my sweet spot
You can feel tyre deg much more now
As Tom mentions, low speed rotation is brilliant but mid corner understeer can hurt you unless you balance it out with setup
Setups are quite different but somehow still the same
Apparently the 'optimal window' is smaller now, yet tyres are more complex to understand. I'm excited to see it when I do a 100% race.
Personally I found it a bit easier to avoid major lockups in general in the beta compared to 22 and previous games, but it’s dependent on trail braking correctly and finding the correct brake bias (50% is absolutely not going to be the meta this time) and like you said, when you do lock up it is much more severe, especially because the rear axle can lock and spin you around.
That being said, in 22 and previous games I generally run ABS and medium TC while in the beta I never used any assists and felt confortable doing that, so this might just be me. In general I think this year it’s going to be a lot easier for most people to turn off the assists, as shown in the video the traction is significantly better and easier to drive with.
Is the chromatic abberation still to much?
Similar-ish, doesn't feel as harsh.
@@Tom97 Thank god, my eyes hurt when i played 🥲
Finally, F1 23 will be manageable? F1 2022 was simply unplayable the rear does not feel when it is going to be lost, compare it with F1 2018 and it is by much better physics of the rear it does not matter if you have steering wheel Low or high range F1 18 is in terms of handling better than F122 I hope the 23 returns to its origins without losing realism F1 22 I think it simply has a physics problem is not a matter of skills or Logitech Thrusmaster or Fanatec steering wheels. What do you think? Is F1 22 really unreal? Or is it so real that not just anyone can handle it?
is the RB19 really that glossy?
Not in real life
Nope, needs fixing.
23 looks a little better at night than 22, but in the day I think it looks horrible with the yellow filter on it. And the shaded areas on 23 are far too dark. You lose all detail
Still not a sim though.
Im not seeing the hype for F123 this year, so im gonna save my cash till they improve career mode, they need to do away with R&D currency and just have 1 currency for everything.
Fair!
Had to x2 playback speed smh
Why
Just use timestamps!
I think ea is going to shut heavily haters mouths
Honestly, I don’t trust codemasters anymore, last year game had a lot of hype and just messed up completely. I just missed the will to play, I don’t know they just ruined it. They prefer to invest in a very small story to sell, just like FIFA did couple years ago, and not improve the physics or change the engine, laser scanned tracks, whatever to make the game better they just care about building the same shit every year and sell it at the highest price possible. That’s what EA does
Fair, just wait for the game to come out and hear general feedback and wait for a discount!
The game can look as good as it wants, if it plays like shit it wont matter how pretty it is
f1 22 is just better it takes more skill
And it’s less realistic
Fair point. On the other hand, F1 23 means to be the best, you have to be really special. Margins are fine.
lmao u should probably buy motogp22 🤣
The only real graphical change is the lighting being more yellow. The game is the same. You're paying for fixes and improvements with minimal new features. You're actually paying for breaking point 2. Sad... wish i never bought F1 22
The game needs to work online because every year this games has bugs and you guys hipe it up and weeks later the game will mess up , but we know you get it for free and us games buy this game is going to be crap
do you know wherecan i find f1 22 cracked
