Honest help please: Yesterday I ordered the PreSonus Revelator USB Microphone - NOT the dynamic version. I realised it after I ordered. I bought it specifically for cartoon character voices during live interviews. I'd like to know if the software with special effects to modify the voice is the same for both mics, are there any cons with the previous version.

I own this microphone and I am happy with the product but it doesn't sound as good as it does in this video. Refer to my youtube Live streams for a comparison. I also noticed that in comparison with other product reviews for this mic. Did you guys add any processing to the audio portion at all? Does the treating of the room used in this recording have anything to do with it?
Did you set up a custom FAT channel setting? If not, I'd recommend EposVox's settings in their review as a starting point. Also - I've found that any gain past 43db causes it to not sound great, so try to stick to gain under 43db

Hello there, great content, may I ask you between this model and the Shure mv7, what would be better for podcasting in untreated room?... Thanks for your valuable help
Hey there, Tio! I would highly recommend either of those microphones in an untreated room. Since they’re both dynamic broadcast style microphones with a fairly low output, they’re made with a very tight polar pattern. This will help a ton with just picking up what’s directly in front of the mic and blocking out any reflections in the room. Feel free to reach out with any other questions! Can you use two at the same time with the software? I know with mics like the wave 3 it will not allow two usb mics to be controlled through the software at the same time.
Hello, Rhetri! Only one mic is supported for use with any computer at any given time. Should you wish to record more than one mic simultaneously, it’d be best to get a dedicated audio interface and XLR microphones. I recently bought the condenser version, but the handling noise is driving me crazy. I bought a Razer Huntsman V2 because its one of the quietest mechanical keyboards, but this mic just amplifies the key presses where it sounds like a loud mechanical keyboard. Makes the mic almost unusable for my work from home mic. Would the PreSonus SHK-2 cut out a lot of that handling noise if I mounted it on a desk top boom arm to get it off the included stand, or should I suck it up and get this new Dynamic version? I would use the mic as my work from home mic, some podcast work, and I'm excited to use the bundled software for recording my voice for singing and acoustic guitar. Thanks for any insight.
@@RathOX Thanks for answering my friend, I was hoping for a response from Sweetwater. It seems there's a problem with handling noise on both models, that's why I was asking about the SHK-2. I'm stuck with the condenser version since my return window lapsed. I feel I've got the right version for me since I do more guitar recording and vocal singing. I think condensers work better for studio music/singing applications. I did buy a desk top boom arm, and that helped getting it off the desk, but it still is very touchy to movements. I also bought a A7WS windscreen knockoff that I like, it takes away some of the harsh high end, and darkens the sound in a good way. Sorry for the long reply, but I thought this information may help others.

stupid question. I ended up having to use Stream Mix A as my "mic" in Windows 10 because the default Revelator Mic only plays back in one of my speakers if I record it with the windows voice recorder and play it back. (which presumably also means people listening to me on zoom with headphones would only hear my voice in one ear which would be annoying). I tried the mono/stereo setting in the app but it does not seem to make any difference on Main? Is there a way to use Main for this, or should I just relegate myself to using Stream Mix A?
Hey there! It’s tough to say for sure. If you’re hoping to use the Main for playback or monitoring, I would double check that you’re using a mono track, and not stereo in the software. If you’re using a stereo track, your microphone (which is a mono signal) will only play back on either the right or the left channel of that stereo track. I hope this helps!
