They really fixed alot of the negative stuff in the new version! I also reccomend the new one! Keyboard backlight is a little ehh, but at least now you have 2 brightness levels and off, really wish they came with RGB being 1000 euros. Thank you very much! I just got it for gaming because my MacBook isn’t working anymore. It is honestly a great laptop. I got my recorder (OBS) and my editor (DaVinci Resolve) they work great on it! Thanks for this video so I know it’s good!
I still use this, even for 2023 can still play games (elden/hogwarts/cyberpunk etc.. low-medium or mixed), i had it both on ssd m.2 nvme & 2.5 with 16gb ram and repasted & undervolted the cpu overclock the gpu gpu so far so good.
I have the 2020 version (HP Pavilion 15-DK0051WM). And they did fixed some issues. Except the thermals. But I think you should try to undervolt to -0.120V. Because that solved my thermal throttle. But it looked like your model has small fans. I am not so sure why they don't have a dedicated hardware button for turbo speed for fans to blast at max speed. Because that way, it will keep the gaming laptop cooled. I would just get 16GB for the sake of games to run (like Skyrim). And I think that Vermintide will not boot at high settings, because of lack of ram for some odd reason (this is my opinion and I don't have that game). And I have replaced the thermal paste on my gaming laptop, you have to move some wires along with more screws. I mean it is extra step to just simply repaste the CPU and GPU on the 2020 version. But if your wifi antenna cable clamp is broken, then you are screwed for only able to use one wifi antenna until you have the cable fixed or replaced. So you got to be careful and not trying to screw things up in the laptop. Because you will find out which part that they definitely cheaped out. Also 2 screws had been stripped until I had managed to get them out. Because they're too tight and they have soft heads (that does suck if you want to easily take the laptop apart). Although you can use a flathead screwdriver to take off the back panel (not recommended ).
The plastic is so cheap that my screen broken from the main laptop around 3-4 months ago. Use some epoxy glue to fix it and loosen the hinge a little bit to avoid it from broken again. My harddisk is broken too, already format the entire thing and fill it again with backups but the file start to erased little by little, even the windows. Battery also sitting at 37k mWh full charge while the designed capacity is around 52k mWh. Mine is cx0057tx, I bought it in the end of 2018. Overall, performance is really worth the money. If only the hardware is a little bit better (at least in my case), then this would be the best laptop for its price.
@@B4YBTech I really hope ppl will see my comment so they could check their screen hinges and lubricate them regularly or simply loosen them a little bit because that is the most disappointing part of this laptop. You can't feel anything wrong at all because torque applied from the length of the screen but if you disassemble the hinges and try to play with them without screen, they are really tight that you will not believe how such cheap plastic could handle the force. In my case, when I disassemble the hinges, I cannot open/close them with my hands alone at all. It might be because I'm just a weak little man though😂
I love the green back lit keyboard. And i like how that one doesn't have the big green hp logo on the lid... I went with a GF 65 cuz i was able to get a good deal on the rtx 2060 version but i was considering the HP labtops.
Man.... Everything's gone wrong for mine. 1. The Casing broke at the hinge parts of the screen lid 2. When the thing snapped completely, the both oof the antenna for wifi were cut or frayed. This led to spotty wifi that would occasionally cut out entirely or be unable to connect to networks it could detect, even with the correct password. 3. Store wormed out of repairs on extended physical damage warranty by claiming it was infested with bugs and told me I needed it "Professionally cleaned" before they'd fix it 4. Nobody in my entire state advertises such a service and calls were fruitless. (The one guy who said he might be able to do it said cost would be almost the cost of the computer) and even then, not guaranteed 5. trying to tear it down to convert into a functional Desktop of some sort, the screws on the Heat sink all were super stuck for some reason and stripped rather than come off. 6. Also, surprise surprise, NO BUGS! Either they saw it was from Hawaii and used the fact computers somewhat commonly get bugs in them to worm out of fixing my destroyed casing, or a single bug somehow got into the box en -route, and they refused for that reason. 7. After removing and trying to repair the damaged antenna, the Wireless capabilities straight up shut off if I so much as type more than a few keys at a time.
Jryan Monocillo not sure how demanding those programs will be but I think it’ll handle it surprising well. You can’t change the animation on the keyboard

You mean the hinge? If it is, yeah I think you should be because maybe eventually it will wear out which is common to these laptops, if the hinges break, or before it breaks, you should loosen the hinges a little bit thats solves it, mine too had that problem and then hinges didn't break but it came off the bracket, what I did was repaired it luckily the hinges wasn't damaged, so the hinges were placed correctly and I loosen the hinges littlebit now it's fine as butter, sorry for late reply....

DogeTheDeadMeme 17 yeah it can run some games really good but it overheats like the sun. Does anyone know some type of advice to keep it cool when you playing? (I usually play 4-6 hours a day) or some days just no
the hinge assembly of this laptop is sort of weak, due to the unique design, and is sort of unusual, so repairing could be painstaking! keep that in mind if you buy it, otherwise its a good laptop
It's on sale but I might just put down another $400 and get the Asus 17.3 gaming laptop for $899 at Best Buy. This will be my first laptop and want it to last a while.
lyrical L You can play unplugged but the performance is going to be affected by a decent amount. Leaving it plugged in supplies enough power to the GPU
Hey there, love the vid I got this laptop when it first came out about 6 months ago. I dont know a whole lot about upgrading laptops but would love to know the versatility of this laptop. Also, what is the purpose of replacing the thermal paste?
Hey Kyle 👋 the purpose of replacing the thermal paste is to hopefully improve the heat dissipation. Because most manufacturer's use a lower quality paste in their laptops.
@@acapelllah2502 It's working great, the only issue I've had is that it can get hot when gaming certain games. I play a lot of Rust and that is a very demanding game. All others seem to work pretty well, Rust is the only one I've had issues with heating.
Halo Collection looks and plays great on this laptop even with 8gb ram. Reach looks unbelievable even at 60fps. I bought a cheap LG monitor from Walmart and the framerate often goes up to 120 fps.
I've kept it fully upgraded at home , took msi stealth for work ... Hp is decent than dell but then materials are kinda cheap or starts wearing out if not taken due care
This will perform better, that laptop had the older Ryzen mobile CPU which wasn't really competitive with Intel at the time. The newer gen Ryzen mobile CPUs are great though
I am thinking to buy the laptop but with this differences(HP Pavilion Gaming 15-EC0004LA): Gtx 1650 AMD Ryzen 7 3750H (2300 MHz - 4000 MHz) SSD 512GB I am afraid of the heat problem, Somebody knows if this version improves this?
Does it get hot and use the fans a lot when video editing. I would like to use davinci resolve and reaper audio mostly on this, no gaming. do you think in reality the fans will be on all the time during editing, color grading and other video enhancements. or do you think mainly the fans will be on hard only during the render process. Please let me know as soon as you can. I am looking at a desktop HP gamer which has a little better specs but a lot more space inside which really helps the cooling. Thanks
It mostly gets loud when doing the actual render. I use premier pro and during the editing process it gets warm while I scrub and edit but only gets hot when the actual rendering process goes down. The fans are always on and can be audible depending on your ambient noise in the room. If you record while having the laptop in the room it may be a concern. I edit with headphones on and my mic doesn't really pic up much noise.
Did you upgrade the ram in yours? Or is what I could spot under the panel at the end of your vid what came with it? Is it a pair of 4g or does it originally come with a single 8g with a free slot?
so which laptop should i buy now 😂💔? this or acer nitro 5 or msi gv62 8rd ? which is better for durability and will probably last long ( it will be my main device for at least 5 years ) ?
I honestly don't see those 2 laptops being any better than this besides the thermals. I never got to test those 2 so I wouldn't be able to tell if these two perform worse or better. For build quality, this feels cheap but it will last, I don't see this thing falling apart. If you really want a better laptop I'd say go for the Dell G5 and G7 especially with the sale, there is also the Acer Helios 300 these definitely cost more but are far better than the Acer nitro 5 and gv62.
So i barley got this laptop, and have no idea on what to do? when it comes to gaming, im not sure how to buy n download games or where to go? can you help out?
1Shott there are a ton of programs that have game stores, I prefer to use Steam, there’s also battle net, epic games launcher and origin. All have AAA titles and some free games for you to check out
I basically used the windows calibration and a website that had a color reference chart. I'm sorry don't remember the name of the website I'll have to check my history for it. I wish I bookmarked it.

So which one should I go for?main purpose is gaming and coding.
Target has one right now for $599 i5 with gtx 1050 8gb memory 256 ssd... debating whether to get this or wait for the acer nitro 5 to go back on sale for $599 ** I want to use mine for video editing and audio
A good quality video sir! thx for sharing. did you suggest this laptop, is it worth to buy? i like this gaming laptop cuz its very CHEAP, and a nice looking! but i'm afraid of overheating, lots people said hp laptop is very bad at this. Also, i want to use that to photoshop and editing video, is screen color good? about battery life, how long you can use it with out pulgin power?
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. If you will game on this for extensive hours it definitely gets hot. I personally use it for photo and video editing. When using it for premiere it does get hot and only gets really hot when I am rendering the videos. I get about 3-4 hrs screen on time and the screen is decent for color correction.

is this hp pavilion 15 cx-0072tx?
ive been having problem with the backlight keyboard because i cant adjust the time settings even in the BIOS it doesn't show up
Nice laptop. Not feeling the green theme though.
I agree man thanks for the comment :)
same yo i bought it cause of the specs overall the laptop is ugly asf

Unfortunately it only comes with green in this model
Does the Laptop support Thunderbolt 3?
No it does have a usb type c port though
I am only getting this laptop for minecraft, csgo, valorant and if my brothers try and install fortnite on it I'm putting them up for adoption lol
It will run those games with no problems at ALL. enjoy your new laptop!
DogeTheDeadMeme 17 yeah it can run some games really good but it overheats like the sun. Does anyone know some type of advice to keep it cool when you playing? (I usually play 4-6 hours a day) or some days just no
@@lek1005 I’ve heard that it starts overheating if it is continuing to charge while it’s a 100% but Idk
the hinge assembly of this laptop is sort of weak, due to the unique design, and is sort of unusual, so repairing could be painstaking! keep that in mind if you buy it, otherwise its a good laptop
Is this good for 3d programs like 3d max
NO
Yes
I have the same laptop but I use it as a desktop because I have a keyboard mouse And two monitors connected to it

Does this laptop support the elgato game capture card? Or can I save even more money by buying a laptop that can support it?
ostrichtv I think most laptops support the capture card so it all depends on your budget
It's on sale but I might just put down another $400 and get the Asus 17.3 gaming laptop for $899 at Best Buy. This will be my first laptop and want it to last a while.
My keyboard backlight turned off after one day of purchase please help me to turn it on

Jordan Hansraj yes you can
@@B4YBTech thanks
Can you play normally while unplugged or do all gaming laptops normally need to be plugged to play? 🤔
lyrical L You can play unplugged but the performance is going to be affected by a decent amount. Leaving it plugged in supplies enough power to the GPU
Is this laptop durable
Can I use it for 4 years without major issues of handled well??

Hey there, love the vid I got this laptop when it first came out about 6 months ago. I dont know a whole lot about upgrading laptops but would love to know the versatility of this laptop. Also, what is the purpose of replacing the thermal paste?
Hey Kyle 👋 the purpose of replacing the thermal paste is to hopefully improve the heat dissipation. Because most manufacturer's use a lower quality paste in their laptops.
Hey is ur laptop running fine did u have any issues ?
@@acapelllah2502 It's working great, the only issue I've had is that it can get hot when gaming certain games. I play a lot of Rust and that is a very demanding game. All others seem to work pretty well, Rust is the only one I've had issues with heating.
@@B4YBTech Got it! thank you so much!
I just wanna play halo 2 vista with assembly I play on my pc but I want to have a laptop to play it on aswell
I haven't gotten the chance to play it on PC is it any good?
B4YB It’s amazingly great and btw I got a laptop running great on both
Kryzix X5 awesome! I’m glad to hear that 👍
Halo Collection looks and plays great on this laptop even with 8gb ram. Reach looks unbelievable even at 60fps. I bought a cheap LG monitor from Walmart and the framerate often goes up to 120 fps.
I got this laptop but it doesn't have ssd. Can i put one, without removing the hdd?
Davor Angelov yes there is an m.2 slot for the ssd
Do you recommend putting ssd in this laptop?
Davor Angelov Yes it is probably the first thing I would upgrade
Ok thank you 😃
I've kept it fully upgraded at home , took msi stealth for work ...
Hp is decent than dell but then materials are kinda cheap or starts wearing out if not taken due care
Which better this one on video or hp pavilion 15-ec0058ax
This will perform better, that laptop had the older Ryzen mobile CPU which wasn't really competitive with Intel at the time. The newer gen Ryzen mobile CPUs are great though
In case you guys didn’t find out YOU CAN change the keyboard brightness

What about the hinge ? any problems ?
Hedgehog The Sonic after using it for the time I had it, it held up and didn’t break or anything. It does feel cheap though that’s all.
How fans work ?
How do you turn on the keyboard lights
I am thinking to buy the laptop but with this differences(HP Pavilion Gaming 15-EC0004LA):
Gtx 1650
AMD Ryzen 7 3750H (2300 MHz - 4000 MHz)
SSD 512GB
I am afraid of the heat problem, Somebody knows if this version improves this?
Diabolo2014 not sure about how well that one performs probably cooler but I am assuming it’s slower
I edit with headphones on and my mic doesn't really pic up much noise.
no not in video in gaming only gets hot
Why would someone want to replace the termal pasta, I'm sorry i don't have knowledge on this area
Becasue manufacturers dont always use the best quality paste. Replacing it with a nice quality paste could make your thermals better

Hey - I’m thinking of getting this laptop. Would this be able to handle Sims 4 + expansions on medium -high quality? Trying to avoid any lag.

B4YB Thanks for the swift response! 👏🏼
HP-Pavilion-15-ec0003ne-5-3550H..is this model a good one
Did you upgrade the ram in yours? Or is what I could spot under the panel at the end of your vid what came with it? Is it a pair of 4g or does it originally come with a single 8g with a free slot?
I upgraded it, it had a single one populated
so which laptop should i buy now 😂💔? this or acer nitro 5 or msi gv62 8rd ? which is better for durability and will probably last long ( it will be my main device for at least 5 years ) ?
I honestly don't see those 2 laptops being any better than this besides the thermals. I never got to test those 2 so I wouldn't be able to tell if these two perform worse or better. For build quality, this feels cheap but it will last, I don't see this thing falling apart. If you really want a better laptop I'd say go for the Dell G5 and G7 especially with the sale, there is also the Acer Helios 300 these definitely cost more but are far better than the Acer nitro 5 and gv62.
I still have mine its main problem is overheating
So i barley got this laptop, and have no idea on what to do? when it comes to gaming, im not sure how to buy n download games or where to go? can you help out?
1Shott there are a ton of programs that have game stores, I prefer to use Steam, there’s also battle net, epic games launcher and origin. All have AAA titles and some free games for you to check out

I basically used the windows calibration and a website that had a color reference chart. I'm sorry don't remember the name of the website I'll have to check my history for it. I wish I bookmarked it.
@@B4YBTech thanks I'll have a look when I get the laptop

There is a application you need to download called GeForce experience there you can change settings of your gpu and fix your frame rate problem
Hi. This laptop(Hp pavillion ) with gtx 1060 3gb maxQ core i7 and dell G5 with 1050 ti 4 gb core i7 are available on same price in my country. The only difference is that G5 has extra 128gb ssd while hp does not. Which is no big deal I can get ssd on hp if I decide to go for it. So which one should I go for?main purpose is gaming and coding.
I think the G5 might be a better deal, although not sure if it is thicker than this one. The extra ssd should be worth it.
