I just purchased this phone. It was $39.99 at Walmart. I purchased it for AT&T. Verizon was still selling it for $149.99. I purchased it as a work phone. I also have the iPhone 12 Pro Max. This Moto is wonderful. It’s so good that I have barely used my iPhone. These larger companies have us thinking the more you pay the better the product. That’s not true. This phone does everything. I also put a 128gb SD Card in and made it the main internal.
I just got one for 59.99 at Walmart for at&t too. I got it cause my iphone stopped working and this phone is actually nearly just as good in many ways. I'm gonna put buying another iPhone off and gonna just use it as long as possible until it goes iut
I just bought a new one and wound up paying more than I wanted to. The customer service rep at the store said try to go buy one at Walmart, but they said that they didn't carry them for US Cellular, pretty sure they were being lazy and didn't want to help me, so I guess I got screwed on that one!
Plastic backs are actually better for signal quality and metal backs are mostly to show you spent more on the phone and are ok with a slightly worse signal just to show you have money.
Excellent video, not everyone has a lot of money to spend on an iPhone or a flagship quality phone and camera but still need something they can rely on. My 82-year-old mother enjoys her phone and uses it daily but may take 10 or 15 photos a year and mainly uses her phone to receive those sent to her by me or other family and this phone looks like it would do that just fine. The large size makes videos easy to watch and I have the opportunity to buy a new one for $100 so I don't see how I could go wrong? Your video was both informative and fun to watch. Considering I got this phone for 37$ I'm more than pleased with it. 🤘 It's great for normal day to day use and is honestly a step up from the lg Stylo I had before.
There's a Gesture you can enable that opens the notifications when you swipe down on the fingerprint sensor which is useful considering the screen size.
I was about to but a new iphone 12 and then I found out about the moto g play and bought it again because I break my phone's alot so I don't really have to worry if I break this one because it's cheap and works fine and I can get more of these if I break this one it's fine I'll just get another one instead of wasteing a grand on a iphone each time
I love the shake to turn on flashlight. I've tried enabling samsung phones with either apps or macros, but they just don't work as reliably (or even at all at times) as moto phones built in shake function does. Another complaint I have is that samsung doesn't seem to do budget phones well, with a variety of issues. I recently bought an A13 and it had a loose charging port from day 1, and it also wasn't working with do not disturb mode or alarms, until I figured out that they sent the phone with AM / PM switched, not shown anywhere and I had to manually reset the location / time settings.
Got mine for 60 dollars brand new at Walmart. My S20 FE is getting fixed and it's taking longer than expected so I needed a cheap burner phone. It's a heck of a bang for your buck for 60 bucks

It's a decent phone. The home button and back button is creative but confusing, space storage isn't the best so I used a extra storage sim card, and I wish the Ram was better.
Just bought one since I'm somewhat sick of maintaining even $400 phones- for what I use my phone for (RUclips, texting, web browsing, phone calls, no games) it's perfect. Honestly I would recommend people give it a try if they don't use their phone for much as it's a perfectly capable device for most use cases. If you need a phone for photos, just get a 4a, 4a 5g or a 5a

I have a question maybe someone in the comment section can answer. I have a Moto g Play (2021). Three days ago, I turned my phone off on the afternoon of November 23, 2022 (the day before Thanksgiving) to drive to my friends house. I turn it off for several reasons, so I can't butt dial it, and also so I'm not tempted to look at it and so it won't distract me while driving. When I got to my friend's house later that night, my phone had turned itself back on and had rearranged the icons on the screen. Some are missing, and there are new ones, and they're not arranged neatly like I had them before I left home. According to the Update History, the last update was on November 17, 2022. WTF happened? How it is possible for a phone that's turned off to turn itself on? And how could the screen rearrange itself on its own?
does any know about how to get both speakers to work? aren't those holes above the front camera a speaker? I can only get the one on the bottom of phone to work
All I had to do to get my g8 was take a neighbors trash out three times. There wasn't much and it wasn't heavy so I think I got a pretty good deal. Love it.
Consumer cellular forced me to get this phone after I switched over from another carrier. They said my phone would not except data, I needed this phone. After they sent it to me. I went through 1 gig a day of data on just updates. On they sixth day, I ended my contract before my last gig was used up on updates. Never had a chance to really test it out. Just don't go with consumer cellular though. They never gave me any data back and when I canceled, they tried to charge me around $250 instead of the $149 for just the phone. They would not take it back when I canceled, because I forgot to put the wire that opens the memory slot in the box.
Yeah instead of the headphone jack they could have just upgraded to a 1080p resolution considering 1080p is already outdated these days with a lot of people using 4K regularly
I have this phone, it is very good for the price. Only complaint is how slow the charging is, almost 3 hours from 20-100%. 10W is just too slow, I will upgrade to a 15W or faster charging phone in the future

Why is everyone so obsessed with the headphone jacks nowadays you can get a solid pair of decent headphones that are Bluetooth for $30 I got a pair of Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones that are absolutely amazing for the time whenever School candy first came out like better than any Skullcandy I've ever had before as good as old school Beats headphones in my opinion and it was only $30 if you're spending almost $200 on a phone probably over once you buy a case and screen protector then $30 for Bluetooth headphones ain't that big of a deal and that's a little bit more room that they can put something else in or put a slightly bigger haptic sensor in or something else anything else another camera if they rearrange the internals properly... They could have also have used that saved money to get a slightly better camera than they already got or a slightly better refresh rate than they got or something anything else other than a headphone jack especially considering that reduces the water resistance of the phone.
I wouldn't get the moto G play knowing full well there's a much better phone out there for just another $30, and wouldn't you know it there is. The Bold N1 comes in at $200, can handle pubg perfectly fine has an AMOLED display 400 ppi, wireless charging, a pop-up selfie camera meaning you get a full screen with no notch or hole punch, nothing but screen, you also get an in-screen fingerprint sensor that works perfectly fine if you do it right. The cameras are also better on the Bold N1 but still no competition in comparison to Samsung or iPhone. As for the frame of the phone, as far as I know, both front and back are made of glass, and the front screen has gorilla glass 5 (which is one of the strongest you can get), but hey you can get whatever you want that's just me.
