the hot will have voltage, the neutral & the ground will not, the ground will read perfect (no resistance at all) continuity to an actual ground, the neutral will read resistance to ground but not zero resistance....if your meter has a piezo sounder when metering continuity ground to ground will ring the sounder, neutral to ground will not but you will read resistance indicating there is some degree of continuity
It'd be the same as the light socket teat. We are dealing with alternating current. So if there's only 2 wires one is hot and one is neutral. So the neutral is identified by finding the hot.
I guess I don't have a neutral if I want to connect 2 gang dimmer with 3 cables? The voltage between cables: 19,5 V between yellow and blue 172,5 V between brown and blue 226,3 V between brown and yellow

all these videos start with the same assumption, that you already know the ground wire. Every single video assumes it.
Yes....these videos are actually "finding" the hot wire and that's it.

Great video, now I know how I can do it at home. Thank you for saving me the money I would give for the repair.
Thank😊s for this presentation
thak you!
What about if youre dealing with something like a household extension cord that only has two wires? What do you ground it to?
Probably a nearby ground from a plug

Much Appreciated ❤
Thanks for your support!
thank you
If you live in mexico the neutral wire could be blue yellow black white red etc

what if you dont have ground in your house? and all wires are black wires...
very useful thankyou
Guys your soundtrack sucks... However, thank you for the information
Thanks for your feedback!
Not satisfactory we can easily detect hot wire and If I give two wires without color code .how u find which is earth and which one is neutral?
