  • See the home of the famous Turkish Towel in Buldan. Handwoven textiles are a fascinating craft to watch and the province of Denizli is the epicenter of their production. We'll take a little walk around the downtown of this small city to check out some Turkish towel shops as well as seeing weaving on a handloom up close and personal. I hope you enjoy watching this beautiful craft come to life. If you'd like to see more from my perspective as an American living in Turkey, please consider subscribing to my RUclips channel. Thanks!

Love your channel! I’m interested in buying organic cotton, organic hemp, and organic linen clothing and towels. What places do you recommend? I’m going to come to turkey just for these and to live in a village for a while. What are your favorite areas for simple, clean, quiet, organic living?

Wow, it sounds like you have a very healthy lifestyle! I’m not sure how easy it will be to find organic textile products, unfortunately. You can try googling ‘organik tekstil’ to see if there are any manufacturers specializing in this. Buldan/Denizli are full of manufacturers that do business in textiles all over the world, so I imagine there must be some that specialize in this. I would say, in general, organic items are not as common to find in Turkey, but certainly with changes in lifestyles over the years it is becoming a bit better known. It might be difficult to find a village to live in that has the sort of organic lifestyle you’re after in Anatolia. I have heard of wellness/organic retreats offered in areas of Bodrum and Çeşme along the Aegean but these areas are quite different from a village in the country that you might be expecting. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Thanks for watching!

@@ohsopom thank you! Do you feel it’s worth commuting to the textile region shown in this versus buying in Istanbul? I’m coming over to turkey to buy clothing and towels specifically and want to be mindful of travel costs.

Hi, I'm from Denizli, Turkey. All textile products , especially%100 cotton and bamboo ones are avaible in Denizli. Because here is the center of textile trade .Beneath it I advse you to watch ohsopom's other videos on Pamukkale, and Hierapolis. YOu will be able to see these unique places both historic and natural beauty.
and beaches on the Aegean Sea are better., but pretty crowded. You can book at a hotel in Altınkum / Didim / Aydın
