You guys saying the turbos aren't connected are all so clever... This is how you test drive a fresh built car without a tune to not lean out and damage the engine.
Not a silly comment at all, no boost pipes means no load on the turbo compressors which in turn means nothing to limit their speed as the only mechanism are the wastegates which will never open as there is no boost.... If they overspeed then they can throw themselves to pieces. By controlling boost within a given range at sensible air density then you naturally keep the turbo speed within sensible limits (even if you have no idea that is what is happening) but if you operate at low density (such as at high altitude) then you can run into overspeed issues too...which is why a lot of high end builds now incorperate turbine speed sensors. There is a lot of information out there on the topic, basic turbo system design really.

Это новая технология бесконтактный буст. Просто турбины на зеркало вешаешь +500л.с . У меня сейчас кстати такая же технология применена. Прокладка на штанах прогорела и все мимо кулька дует, ну у меня хотя бы кулёк есть xD . Видно конечно проэкт ещё строится и строится ,ладно турбины хоть прикрутил уже молодец )

The 80 will be more prone to understeer, but that is a good thing on a track (well, by that I mean that it's easier to correct understeer without overcooking it, and in the even that you run into something, you have the front of the car to act as a crumple zone). And, in this case, at least the Audi is a more inspired choice. You wouldn't think "Oh man, that thing might be fast" when you see the default Audi 80 B4 shell just rolling about.

However, according to CarThrottle, the E30 M3 is quite underwhelming. And, let's not forget, the Audi 80 B4 is also a legend, though not under it's stock form, rather, in the form of the Audi S2. That thing is an absolute monster, though it did come with a hefty price tag. Now, it's a great platform for sleepers and overall performance cars because there is just so damn many of them, and the engine bay is massive (as you see in the video, this early 90's sedan fits the engine on which the R8 V8 is based, and it has some room to spare).

It's common to not hook up boost before the tune. Helps to avoid engine damage while determining what needs to be fiddled with; less load.
