Great Video series! 2023 XSR900 here.. going dual can dominator and vcyclenut flash (also Wash. state?). The air box mods were questionable, maybe a HP up or down over RPM, and a $200 filter seems ridiculous. Shouldn't matter much so thinking yes on the flash. The increased 10.5K rev limit is about right for the curve, maybe another 250? I pretty much chicken out at 120 MPH, so considering a few teeth to boot. Would hate to leave that on the table with the Quick Shifter and spin happy engine. Sprockets don't affect the flash so that will be later once drone and DB killer are assessed. I'm Stoked!! Two cylinders is Thumpy, Four is a bit Wide.. Three is just right. Like my old H2 (Shakey Jake!) but without the shakin'!

Hi Robson! Glad you enjoyed this one as well :) Yes, I got a paper letter from Yamaha warning about the recall. It is scheduled for next Thursday, April 7th, so hopefully after it is done and we tune it again, the bike will run even better! Thanks for the heads up

You're going to love it! If you can, after you get your tune, try using cruise control and please let me know here if you had any issues like I did. That would be super helpful to understand if that is exclusive to my bike or not
Can’t wait to put an exhaust mt 09. How’s that windscreen working for you. Does it make a big difference from not having one at all. I’ve been waiting for the blue one to come back in stock.
It does make a difference, not only in wind protection, but also in bug grime protection. That front region under the dash has very small crevices where if you a bug gets squished there, you wont be able to clean up its guts easily...
I purchased the touring windshield off Ali Express and I love mine. Highway riding is way better. My screen comes up past the handle bars about 4 inches
@@stevejohnson7865 I have the Puig sports wind visor. Makes a big difference with the wind. It hits me now at the top of my shoulders and up. I almost got the touring one but changed my mind. I don’t run the highway much but have tried it on there and it wasn’t too bad. No wind screen before on the highway and I was getting blown all over the place. Lol. Stay safe out there.

Hola Rodney. Perdona mi español no es bueno hahaha Las MT09 con recall son 2021 y 2022, más non todas. La mejor forma de saber se suya motocicleta necesita del recall es levándose ella en una Yamaha y pedir que busquen por el numero de chassis o VIN.
That’s on the road map but I am testing how the bike behaves in high speed slowly… sometimes its firm and planted, other times it shakes a bit, so Im not super confident on going 150+mph just yet. Maybe I’ll install a steering dampener and then this will be a lot easier
Oh no, sorry to hear that my friend! I sold this bike because of these exact issues. It was nothing related to the tune and my riding/maintenance. I sold it due to the many unfortunate project failures of Yamaha on this project
@ CP3 engine itself on the first lot of this new gen didn’t have issues, but the ECU program + throttle sensor. It was crooked for hundreds of bikes on that year, mine included, but Yamaha decided to gaslight affected owners to not stain their brand with a shameful recall. It happens, I just got unlucky with my unit, but the MT09 is a great motorcycle
I didn’t dyno it to know for sure, but according to 2WDW, akrapovic + dna stage 2 + their flash yields a total of 115 HP and 70 lb/ft at the wheel! Pretty good, isn’t it?
Yamaha claims this bike gets 49mpg from factory. The most I got was 45mpg, and after all of these mods, it dropped to 40mpg if I’m cruising but if I ride it hard, then its around 20 because it will dry out the already small tank very quickly

Yes it did reduce the fuel autonomy as expected. I used to ride about 180 miles with a full tank on OEM specs, now I get about 150 miles, so around 20% less than before.
@@IgorBrandao Great, thank you! I'm thinking now, if I get one, that I'll just keep it stock until fuel prices drop. That will comfortably get me through any standard or extended warranty period anyway.

Set up the front pre load , get the loaded SAG set up done . Then if it still dives , get a heavier wait fork spring 👍 great video nice sound .
No. Set up the sag , then start dialing in more low speed compression.

Thanks bro! Maybe you got lucky and got a blessed unit because most people- myself included - can do at most 134-136 mph stock!
