    Had a fitting last week. Gave up golf 2 yrs ago because i couldn’t hit an iron. The difference using hybrids was amazing. I’m 66 and 19 handicap and clubs are ideally suited to my ability level. Cant wait for the clubs to arrive and start playing again.

    I have the Eleven Driver 10/10 performance I didnt get fitted but self tuning seems to fine now. Broke 79 1st 18 hole round so very pleased.
    I play of 6 Handicap and took my 6 iron(27 deg) out for a ladies 6 hybrid head (27deg) and put a Stiff flex shaft into it. Now I have 165-175 yards stock shot. PW-7i irons 6,5 Hyb, 7W , Driver
    Higher number hybrids are a no brainer and not new, my daughter uses Adams Idea Hybrid irons they are 2010 era SW-7 iron Recently for £50! spotless condition.

    I love my hybrid, and definitely think I'd add another to the bag with a little less loft, but I could not cope with so many headcovers in the bag. I struggle to find the club I want to select now with just a Driver 5 Wood, and HB in the bag...😆
    If you fancy doing a video with some very bladey Slazenger prototypes from the 70's Gaz, let me know - they're sat in the garage - and probably the exact opposite of these clubs in terms of forgiveness etc.

    At 11:50 you both hit it left but I think your alignment was left. Before you hit it I said to myself this is going left.
    Plus the draw setting clubs interesting I find hybrids harder to hit in shorter clubs but fine for 5 iron and above.

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  Месяц назад +1

      You’re not wrong. We both aspire to fade ball, so our start line wasn’t too bad, with just pulled it instead of fading. These clubs definitely have a lot of offset and the softer shaft got us drawing them if anything. I know what you mean, I think because we’re used to irons, lower than 5 is abit of unknown territory.

    • @CarlBroadbent
      @CarlBroadbent Месяц назад

      @@garymartingolf that makes sense. I often think the camera doesn’t show the correct positions but I thought on this one your alignment was definitely left. Great video though Gary.

      I was always taught to tee up if you can, but now I’m not sure!
      Technology proves that’s irons struck off a tee and off the floor fly different distances, but we all play to the distance we hit our clubs off the floor, so like I said, I may end up trialing hitting off the floor for all shots apart from woods.

    I play rogue st os hybrids 3-8 and an eleven 9 & pitch hybrid. Thinking about changing to all eleven hybrids but have found you can manipulate the 9 & pw especially in wind i am a single figure handicap and think this is the best thing since sliced bread everyone should at least give them a go

    • @garymartingolf
      @garymartingolf  Месяц назад +1

      I didn’t know rogue st hybrids went to 8. Tbf, it sounds like you already have a nice set. You can buy the eleven separate can’t you, so I guess you could put 8 head to head before buying the lot.

      @@garymartingolf the 9 and pw for me flying machines I think there is a cross over in distance I think the 9 in eleven hybrid is very close in distance to 8 hybrid. Shafts in the eleven I would say are a little more stable for me. I think everyone should try hybrids as a set. I was playing off 4 but totally snapped my Achilles and struggled coming back hcp gone up to 10 but mainly to feeling tired after 13 holes i went back to irons and felt I could not get through a shot as well as I can with a hybrid
