- Опубликовано: 4 июн 2024
- On the morning of D-Day, in the first waves there were photographers who disembarked alongside the the infantry and specialist engineers, putting their lives at risk to show the whole world this historic moment
The photographic record they left, made it possible to show the harshness of the events and the heroism with which the protagonists faced the situation
At Omaha Beach, Easy Red Section, several brave photographers landed, including Robert Capa, Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Robert L. Sargent and Captain Herman V. Wall
In memory of all the people who fought and they left their lives for a better world

I woke up for work at 6.30am this morning (06/06/2024) slightly tired, slightly aching, slightly grumpy . . . . and these brave guys & their sacrifices, were the 1st thing I thought of today.
SUDDENLY, ANOTHER DREARY DAY, DOING A JOB I HATE, IN THE COLD & RAIN - *doesn't really seem all that important anymore*
We'll *NEVER* forget their sacrifice 🖤
@golic7123 You are right, how difficult it is to measure the desperate situation that those men (most of them very young) went through and the courage they had to fulfill the assigned task no matter what the cost "God bless them"
Greetings from Argentina.
So true, Its heartbreaking - i can never comprehend their bravery, and the sheer level of courage & national-devotion they displayed
An era of men ( . . mostly just boys!), i can never hold myself in comparison to
@@golic7123 I agree with you 💪🙏

Haunting yet powerful. We must never forget, always remember and preserve. Thank you and salute to all those who participated in D-Day, on the beaches or inland.
@NegiTaiMetal011 I agree with you 🙏
I just walked 80 miles in 32 hours in memory of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landing.
My old regiments predecessors the ox’s and bucks light infantry spearheaded the invasion by attacking Pegasus bridge in horsa gliders . RIP fallen warriors 🙏
@koozer7261 Thank you very much for telling us your story. Incredible what you have done in memory of those brave men.
In a previous video I made a "Then and Now" with photos of the Pegasus Bridge in Bénouville ruclips.net/video/2iLNjQb5xCk/видео.html

Another fantastic piece of work. Thanks.
@paulmoore120 thank you very much, you are very kind.

So beautiful and emotional. My husband’s uncle was in D-Day, while my dad was in the Aleutian Islands and one brother was in Iceland and the other in Italy. These men were so young and so brave. My dad was 18 when he enlisted the day after Pearl Harbor. Going to Normandy has got to be such a moving experience. Thank you.
My dad and three brothers were all in Europe..truly the greatest generation..
@@stephenarno2032 Yes they were!

Thank you for this video. I have seen quite a few then and nows from many different channels all with good and not so good ways of transitioning. This is a good example of how important it is to transition BACK to original clip as it adds to the impact. Some don't and It loses alot of the effect.
@sumbuddy63 thank you very much for your comment. I just try to do the best and most serious work possible.

There is a reason they are referred to as the greatest generation of our time. They faced unbelievable odds and witnessed horrors like they had never seen before. Yet they continued to charge forward. Many of them were just boys as young as 16,17, and 18 yrs old. A lot of them lied to the military recruiters at the time of their enlistment. Many signing up to go to war right after the attack on Pearl Harbor. These boys became men on that day. Many with vengeance on their minds and patriotism in their hearts. May God bless everyone of them. Because without their sacrifice the world would be a very different place today. God bless them all and God bless America. May we never forget. 🇺🇲
@pmc6925 Thank you very much for your reflection. I can only say "God bless you all for what you did for your country and for what you did for the whole world."

Every one a hero never forget
@ianlee487 I totally agree with you.

Can’t get over how deep the sea was where many had to swim to get to shore and face high velocity machine guns, a living hell🙏
@kmac5849 I totally agree with you, hell on the beach. Incredible to think about the feat that those brave men achieved.
Greetings from Argentina.
Good work but I lost interest once I realised it was only Omaha.
@paramarky thank you for your comment. The landing in Omaha and particularly in the Easy Red Sector was the best documented of the 5 beaches, however I am working on future videos to complement with photos of the other beaches.
If you'd like to watch, I've made a previous video about the 5 landing beaches, showing them in order from Sword to Utah

It is called the English Channel, Not British channel 😠
@Mike-kj8qg You are right, thank you for pointing out the error, it was a major oversight.
Comments like this help me improve the videos.

Howcome there was hardly any tall grass in the 40s? Makes it almost seem like a different place.
@marcrigor6423 You're right. Some of the vegetation is natural, however most of the trees were planted in the current American Cemetery.
Greetings from Argentina.
We should all remember. Trump thinks servicemen are suckers and losers.
@MrTomV thank you for watching.

i love how the germans kept the bluffs all trimmed up and clear of bushes and shit
