Hey there! The match went great, and very impressed with the Nexus. It's extremely well balanced and a joy to shoot! Thanks for watching! Just swapped the barrel out to the 7mm PRC and going to start some testing with that now!
Share any deets on the load you worked up? Obvious caveats apply that it can’t be assumed to be a safe load in anyone else’s gun…just directionally curious what worked well as another nexus owner and hand loader working up many loads myself
I have a nexus in 300 PRC and 6.5 PRC and I’m trying to load for the 300 PRC. How far off the lands are you setting your seating depth? I usually do .003” off but curious how you got a load so far and what you were using.
@Wyoming_Wild hey there! I typically do .003 off the lands as well, but for this load I just started at SAAMI specs with a COAL of 2.955 with the 147 ELD-M and Lapua brass, H1000, and BR2 primers to see how it did, and obviously it shot well that way. I'll mess around with it more as time goes along, but haven't yet had a chance to play with it more on the reloading side (been out hunting a ton this fall LOL). Thanks for watching!
@tonystewart7287 yeah, it's great speed for a 140 and 20" barrel! I wasn't pushing the 147s that hard because I just wanted a lower recoil match load, so loaded it pretty light. They were going 2747, but I'll likely go experiment to get some more velo for a better hunting load. Thanks for watching!
Hey there! Yes sir...it's the Gen 2. So far so good! Filmed that video prior to the match and shot it...it did great and still like new! Thanks for watching!
Just came across you guys. Nice work. I do think that you’re suppose to zero Gunwerks guns because people get on the gun differently. I’ve heard Aaron Davidson say that on several different podcasts. Again, nice job.
@bobmcmillen4502 thank you! Yeah, absolutely I would recommend zeroing the rifle even if it's 1000 yards out of the box because everyone gets on the gun differently. We just wanted to test it truly out of of the box. Thanks for watching!
No mention of correcting for atmospherics? The rifle should have come with a calibration sheet telling you what the temperature and pressure was when the gun was zeroed. If you didn’t adjust to your local conditions, that could explain your 1 moa offset ?
@stevewort hey there! Thanks for checking on that! Yeah, atmospheric conditions were closed to the ballistic turret/ preset zero, but not identical. That explains a little of the 1 MOA difference, but not all of it. Thanks for watching!
Gunwerks are 1000% overpriced. Regardless of being turnkey 1k yard capable. They aren’t junk but absolutely overpriced unless you’re a rich surgeon/ceo that can’t/doesnt want to do load development and save $5k+
It’s just like a Mercedes is over priced. Does the same thing as a Toyota. But people will pay for the finer points. Not everyone has the time, money, or interest in setting up a gun and a load for it and figure out how to verify ballistics. Get a bdc turret made, etc. You and I can do that. His time is worth a lot to him. The Capital Venture guy ( not a Doctor) would rather pay someone to do it. He would find it money well spent. He’ll go to Alaska and get a $50,000 sheep with it. $10k gun seems cheap to the guy spending $50k on a hunt. Different strokes.
Another great video. Looking forward to seeing your opinion after the match.

Hey there! Shoot me an email (backwoodspursuit.info@gmail.com) and I'd be happy to shoot you my load details! Thanks for watching!

@ Roger that! I’ll probably try both, .003” off and SAAMI. Thanks man. I did a few nexus videos myself on my channel.
@Wyoming_Wild sounds great! Let me know ow what you find when you do some more experimenting. Ill go check out your channel...thanks!
That’s good speed for a 20” barrel and 140gn, what speed did you get with the 147gn & powder? Cheers

Is that the Gen2 bipod? If so, be interested how it holds up in your match. Appreciate the review!

Does this ammo company makes 7mm rem mag ammo ?
@@WhiteoutSnowy hey there! Looks like they do make 7 Rem Mag Ammo. Thanks for watching!

I have owned 4 different Gunwerks rifles. Sold every one, long story short
@chriskloster13 interesting! I'd be curious as to why LOL. Thanks for watching though!
@@BackwoodsPursuit 💯 I appreciate the content. My feedback for GW is not something I should share for public consumption tho, 🍻cheers
@@chriskloster13 fair enough. I can appreciate and respect that. Thanks!

Very nice! It's a lot of fun (and a lot of work LOL)....but I enjoy it! Happy content creation!

Hey there! They certainly aren't inexpensive that's for sure...but very nice! Thanks for watching!
So are trucks, sports cars, homes, computers, etcetera. They sell to a niche market of perfectionistic enthusiasts.
@@JohanWXC that's very true! Thanks for watching!
@@JohanWXCYes but they are more expensive than many other fine rifle makers. They rival Accuracy International in $price.
