So many ignorant comments about this guy having his own forklift. If you have acreage and stuff to move it’s not uncommon to own a piece of equipment. Buying a used forklift isn’t that hard to do. And the wheels? Of course your not going to move a loaded container! Those wheels are more than strong enough to handle a quarter of the weight of that container!
This is a great invention and it does exactly what it is intended to do. It could do it all day every day.
So many keyboard engineers talking about a world they don’t understand.
What?those wheels are more then strong enough to handle a quarter of the weight of the container?
This kit is perfect. Gives me a great idea to move a container without crushing things that don't need to be crushed. Thank you.
Very good idea, I hope it goes well for you!
Thanks for sharing.
What a brilliant invention!!!!! I am constantly amazed at the plethora of human ingenuity !!!!!!!
This is the coolest, smartest, no DER! thing in forever!! I want one! This will take my random furniture moving wild hairs to a WHOLE new level. On a serious note...seriously...I need one as mine had to be dropped close to the road.
Great Concept. Best of luck.
That's really cool. All I need now is a storage container that needs to be moved and a large diesel tractor with a forklift attachment. Then I'd be set.
Exactly.....
Aaron Gardner you can get away with it on a pallet jack of needs be.....when you get a weight moving it don’t take much to keep it moving. I’ve moved em on timbers with a small 50’s era tractor that only has 7hp....but it does weigh 1100#
Yeah
...you May as well need a rocket ship. Huh?.....but I have dug under them , got a good floor jack under it, cut some pipes, and put under it, and then drag it with a 1/2 ton truck.....it's old school shit...lol..called...."MAN-power!"...if it's gotta be done?...you'll find a way....Optimism can do Anything it wants!!.....
Actually, they make dual wheel swivel casters for the front end. A pair of them and a rigid tow bar (simple triangular design), you can tow it with a pickup truck.
Aaron Gardner lmao 😂 right
Simple,rustique,efficace ! 👍
That's a very nice design and system.
Now that's the coolest item made since sliced bread!
I would weld on alignment tabs on the top side that hug the corner column, that way they self align and lock into place under load. Get design and execution! Top notch content.
Well done !! Très bien !
Nice Job, new invention.
Clever and a great idea! Brilliant!
Great Job!
Great idea!
Great type and simple .
la musique me donne envie de mettre fin a mes jours
Bring that on down to my place 😀
I'm sure in the proper area these will be a god sent
Good job brother 👌
Clever.
When I got mine, we moved it in with a crane, and what a pain that was.. If we could have just wheeled it in like that, it would have made life a million times easier. There may be a next time, and I'll be remembering this for then.
Edit:
I suppose you're wondering why the crane was such a pain.. In short - overhead power lines.
Super gut gemacht, schöne Grüße aus driefel bei zetel in Friesland Deutschland 🇩🇪 viel Spaß und Erfolg und bleibt alle gesund und munter
Of course it helps when you own a forklift like we all got one parked in the backyard lol
I have and a 40' container that needs moving was easy when I had two forks time to get the welder out
Well you can always rent one or ask someone who has one
Nice!!! Need to make some of these🇺🇸
Good concept. Don't get discouraged by the shortsighted comments by people who can't see the big picture on where this could be used, such as limited space areas.
Smart! Great brain!
Very good idea!!!👍
Génial
Brillant!
Really interested in that particular container setup. Never seen one with doors like that.
Watch you local industrial auctions where equipment and containers may be sold. I bought 4-40' HC containers with side doors for an avg. of $6500.00usd each. They retail locally for $15000.00usd each
@@rhill2663 there are lots of companies that customize their containers with regular doors and side doors and doors on each end . The problem is you have to get either new doors or scavenge them from another container. Another somewhat less expensive option is roll up doors like some storefronts etc have. It depends on how much security and vermin/weather proofing you want. Sometimes cheaper to buy 2 containers and convert the door on one to a walk in door and use original door for other container. Then sell the walk in door container unless you have a use for it.
tee kay
They sell containers like that and many other configurations directly from manufacturers and ports they are just not as common.
Far cheaper to pay a little more than to cobble something together.
What an awesome idea. I have three 40' containers to move. I looked on their website but they were not available there that I saw. I will be building a set of those tomorrow.
Did you build them? If yes, how did they work?
did you build them?
Did you build them?
Yes, they look easy to fabricate
Would have been ten times more maneuverable with wheels moved into first forklift slot. Good video!
Muito bem bolado meus parabéns
Decent for ground handling where a delivery rollback cannot go because they could be towed or winched in place, for example where I winched a High Cube behind my house on rollers. They're small enough to carry on the Landoll or rollback truck for specialty use. I suggest making one pair steerable by using a towbar with quick disconnect drag link and simple spindles borrowed from a commercial truck or similar so users do not necessarily require the heavy duty forklift. That way an operator could use the delivery rollback (and a chain hooked to the deck) to lift and lower the container as needed but could use anything including a truck to place the container in awkward spots after which its a simple matter to jack the box and pull the wheels.
Thank you
Very cool.. But those bubble gum welds are sketchy .. But great item.
Brilliant. Sure you can use a crane, but what if you have a large field and a narrow gate.
Need to mount a kingpin and spindle on the corners "all four." So you can turn the wheels 90 degrees. Then you can move it anywhere with any vehicle.
YES! SOO smart!!
Good idea.
Du génie
Side door container is very interesting, I would like to see how they open
Yes, that would make using them for houses much easier.
Never seen this before
Bon idee!
Genius!"
Great vid. NO SALES PITCH HYPE DRAMA "
I just need a fork lift "
& a container "
LOL
Me too
So is this possible for on the road traveling? Verses getting a bed to put it on? This is a nifty idea for sure!! 💡
SUPER IDEA . POZDRAWIAM
Nice. Cheers
I don't knowhow much these things cost, but if you can weld a little bit, all the parts can be bought at your local farm store for a few hundred bucks including the tires, and probably less if you order the spindles and tires on line, Very simple rig to make at home.
I did that.. and you're correct...a couple hundred bucks with the tires (10 ply) being the most expensive part.
Makes sense. Steers well.
0:06 Holy shit! Look at the quality of those welds.
Good Job
Ah ... This is Nieghborhood services. You have 5 days to remove your shipping container from the property or incure a $100 a eek charge. Additionally the e ton fork lift must be moved off the property....hey how do you like the wheels?
That guy is a craftsman. And I want that tractor.
Learnig to weld. Outch.
Curious if this would work on a 53’ sea can that is partially loaded. Also did the wheels and rims come with the kit?
An addition might be a trailer hitch on the end without wheels. Then you could move it with a truck.
William Bissell yep, a hitch that fits into the front slots like the tires did.
Too heavy for most hitches.
@@phillhuddleston9445 put wheels on the front that can pivot, zero hitch weight
@@phillhuddleston9445 40' shipping container only weighs 5 tons.
@@TRCCtv Then, try backing it into position.
You should consider a castor version to allow more manoeuvrability.
Either two fixed + two castors or castors on each corner. It will more easily allow pushing or winching the container into position
FANTASTICO
Se no Brasil não tivéssemos tantas regulamentações quantas adaptações teríamos.👍👍👍
Good idea
Thanks Dave
Brilliant! Do you have a SketchUp model for the welded steel plate with wheel hub assembly. Will you PLEASE put it in the 3D Warehouse!!??
gives you extra flexibilities'
I like seeing lifted up get them Wheels out
A simple hi-lift jack would get them out.
We are in the process of moving a couple we are going to use that system
Great! Now I just need a $300,000 forklift! Lol
40 footers only weigh 8k lbs a big bobcat can lift it. $250-350 a day.
That thing is like $15k tops.
Now if I could configure a home built shed with the right foundation to use this idea.
cant wait to see that going 75 mph down the highway!! 😏😏😏
cool
Awesome idea but be careful of the amount of pressure your putting on the straps connected to the forklift when turning.
ray kingston looks like he spaced em off enough to allow for the turning. Safer bet would have been chains and clevis locking it to the carriage and a pivot on the tines, but this looks like a kit for a home buyer?
that would be tension...
For those who don't see the point, I guess you have never tried to move one of these things. For those who say to just use the fork-lift, I guess you have never tried to move one of these things.... or even driven a fork-lift.... which is VERY unstable while turning with a wide load. Hint: try driving your car with something 20 ft wide blocking your view while trying to tip you over at the same time. (I thought so!)
@Rupe53 -- Here here! And god forbid there should be a temporary drop off on one side, or a low spot (or even high spot!). It doesn't take much at all to get a 10 or 15 or 20 [degree] tilt away from plumb. I think this is brilliant, the simplest solution to a problem I've been thinking about for a couple years.... I have two (2) 40 [ft] HC containers coming as soon as the frost laws are lifted, and must move both ~1000[ft] total... down a rickety, eroded drive, across a creek bed, back up a smoother drive, around a corner, along a wavy future drive, up a bumpity grassy hill, and around a final turn. I think a pair of these wheel/hub/bracket assemblies would be just the ticket.
Love how he just runs the tree over...
that tree was asking for it lol
Where the heck do I find a container configured like that one?!!!
Containers r us. Just kidding but there are companies that sell several different configurations of them, just ask mrs Google
A lot of ppl selling them now are willing to do custom work 😎
Yes.I've never seen one like that.I have a 20 and a 40 ft with doors on both ends.never saw doors on side before.maybe custom.
They arent custom, they can come like that, just search side opener shipping container.

😁👍🏾
Parece que o pessoal que não gostou, foi por causa da demora.
Alhamdulillah 🙏🙏🙏💯 man tap 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯 . kopi mana kopi
Great idea, it's a shame no one had thought of it before, like when containers were invented or at least when containers were for other purposes (Garages, Homes, Shops, etc...). ;-)
Just think of how much ground didn't need to be cleaned up (ruts from tractors trying for grip, pulling a "dead" load) and re-landscaped due to dragging a container pass a house, through a yard, that months later needs to be moved again because it was placed in a poor location (flooding?).
This kind of rig is pretty useless without a proper drag bar. You can´t make any sharp turns. The container will lock up against the forklift.. And yes, i do know what i am talking about
@@J1I9M7M4Y If you don't make any sharp turns, then this rig is VERY useful. Certainly more useful than just dragging across the ground (grass, rock, pavement, mud...).
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great idea but I did better welds in high school shop class. I hope the production ones are better.
Hello Auger3504,
you're right about the weldings.. it's horrible.. It was a prototype and first time we were surprised that it worked even with 2T on each wheel.
You'll find photos and more infos of the Shipping Container wheels kit we commercialize on the link :

Rgrds,
How does it work transporting down the Interstate at 70mph for a thousand miles?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gonna have to Fusion360 and waterjet some of these.
The kit they sell here in Florida has a hitch that locks into the front like the back, but you can pull it down the hwy at 70 mph with a pickup. . 👍
What's it called? And where can I find one? Please let me know
Dirk can you share where this kit is available? Searching for it and nothing comes up.
Dirk Pierce, where in FL? I’m in Orlando & could use such a kit.
@Dirk Pierce
Dirk Pierce was apparently not 100% truthful. Otherwise.... curious minds want to know, Dirk...!
is there a sales associate in the U.S.A. for your Shipping Container Wheels Kit ?
There is an austrailian company selling them on ebay
Ryan McWilliams what’s the name ?
@@madog466 search for “shipping container wheels” there are several about $400-$700
perfect, what's the price?
1:15 he skipped the footage on how to build a forklift.....
C'est formidable.
I did the same thing with a old mobile home axle.
ne quittez pas votre travail de jour
Great idea but those welds are atrocious and likely dangerous.
Must b a custom container for sure. Would love to see w/ the doors opened.
Now you should design a quick attach tow bar for it so it could be moved down the road by a tractor of 3/4 ton truck. make them moveable by the owner instead of having to hire a trucker to haul .
E serio teniendo ese grande forklift tenia que ponerle llantas. Cuando lo que tenia que hacer wra levantarlo y llevarlo a donde deseaba
Btw.. people on here saying this is useless are total idiots.. lol this actually is perfect for my application.. maybe not if you have a huge commercial grade forklift and plenty of room to maneuver it. But as shipping containers are getting used more and more for different applications, it’s nice to have versatile usable options to move them.
Cuesta más comprar esas ruedas y el artilugio que las soporta que contratar una grúa.
Those welds tho....
First day welding?
Yeah First thing I noticed. Dont think I would trust picking a loaded box on those welds. Sad thing is that they were probably welded (sort of) flat position.
My thoughts exactly, I welded better back in high school.
How can I purchase the wheel kit ? I’m on the site and everything is in Spanish 🙄
So the wheels come with a free industrial sized forklift?
The link they provide doesn’t have them for sale. Does anyone else have a link they would share with me here? I thank you in advance
French company. I'm looking for same. Found this American company named Cardinal Mfg cardinalmanufacturing.com/
