It's fascinating to watch these old videos. I loved them back then (and I still do), but I can't help but recognize how much better your videos have become. Production quality (video and audio) is better and also your English has improved a lot.
I forgot to wrote about the fact that it will be nice to see also the trip time between two stops in your summary and the information regarding the charge time and condition when you stops for battery.... More and more info to collect, but we all now that you are good at that.. :-)
Great video with very good spoken informations and nice music! Thank you so much for the blue overview maps! They are great to do some calculating getting out the data with mouse over search. Your average speeds are truely amazing - nevertheless I would trust you in winter conditions much more than most unexperienced slow drivers. I'm from Austria and have driven a dozen different cars in snowy conditions throughout the years, so I think I can call myself an experienced driver. For centuries EVs were almost unusable in snowy conditions, so I'm really happy to see EVs arise especially in this task through the work of tesla.
Great video like always Bjorn. Looks like Tesla has done a pretty good job with the heated windshield wipers. The heated area should be where the wipers rest. Ford has a heated windshield but the heating is not where the wipers rest so the snow melts and freezes around the wiper blades, really bad design.
Cool country, cool car. I might have missed it, did you try anti-freeze windshield washer fluid? That's designed to keep your windshield/wipers ice-free. The heated wipers don't work, they can not. What they do is, they melt the ice to water, that gets everywhere and as it's cold outside, it freezes immediately.
+David I only ask because, I've been driving in various conditions during winter time and I have never had to get outside to clean the wipers after a few kilometers of driving. Well, it was not a Tesla though.
+Philip Cooper I almost never have this problem as well with the Tesla. This is the first time after driving over 210k km. On the other hand. I had similar problem with my fossil cars before too. It's a combination of the right temperature and heavy snow and driving too slow. As long as you drive fast enough, the snow will bounce off rather than sticking to the windshield.
I know the Model S is good in the snow (especially if you've got dual motors!) and I'm not experienced in driving in heavy snow, but driving in that looks quite unnerving! Maybe the video makes it look faster than it actually is! Nice road trip!
+James Tubb Nope. The car just is that good on winter conditions when you have good snow tires. The Nordic kind, not the German type. There is a _huge_ difference. Unless you have tried it, there is no way you can believe the difference.
Awesome, very impressed! I'm used to summer tyres, and run flats as well actually which probably makes driving in snow very, very different to that. Impressive
I think that the SCH density is quite ok because there is quite a lot of stronger batteries on the way in close future. Even for 90D the current density is just enough which will become the base battery once. Anyway they could build some SCH in Narvik, Tromso, Alta and at Nordkapp would be nice as well ;)
It is not about amount of them, but more about coverage and there are stil some missing. Finland will have more...but sales in Finland are still lower then in Norway before SCH network.
Servicing every 90,000km. I suppose that's what happens when you have a vehicle with only coolant, brake fluid, washer fluid, AC and a dozen or so moving parts. Where as petrol and diesel vehicles have far more moving parts, fluids and far more systems which have to work together perfectly for the car to run.
Bjorn, 2 questions: First -- What was the round dial that looked like a one-handed timer or clock face, on your windshield in the last scene (where you parked at the curb to charge)? Second -- When you park someplace in "camper mode," does anyone ever bother you? Maybe to check on who you are what you are doing? In the US, I have sometimes taken short naps in my car to rest on long trips. I usually do this in a parking lot at a gas station, shopping mall, roadside rest area, etc. And sometimes I have been awakened by police who want to know if I am okay.
+DAVID BRYANT 1. It's a dial showing the time of my arrival. The parking has time limit. 2. I have never been bothered by anyone during my sleeps. Norway is a large country with relatively low population density :)
Sometimes people tell me some SuCs can deliver 135kW if you have new fimware or a newer battery or something like that. Is that true? Where are those chargers? Have you ever charged that fast?
+Filip Bjurling No one has charged that fast. I guess it's like saying that CHAdeMO can deliver up to 50 kW whereas people have been getting up to 47 kW.
Would you say that your Tesla is better in winter than your old E61 BMW? Did you have more problems in the winter with your BMW?
Bjørn Nyland Do you think your new Model X P90D would handle snow much better than your Model S P85 or do you think there isn't much difference in the winter because the Model S is already that good in snow?
Maybe make suggestion when you meet Elon to add more heating elements to front windshield for wipers.. more elements lower so that ice and snow buildup minimized around wiper arms....:-)
+Bjorn Nyland i have seen all your videos, and i can see that its been a great transition on your life because of the car you own, also in the beginning nimber task was an adventure , but now as i can see you can reach all you destinations if weather alouds you, what are your thoughts about all this? , at least you life changed in a better way because of tesla ... regards from ibiza.
+drjkill Because of the fast expanding supercharger network, getting around Norway is less of a challenge today. I have to seek other remote areas then to make it more interesting :)
As an idea, you could go to Russia, as you have said other times. That would be very interesting, as there is only one supercharger in the whole country and it is in Moscow. Ther is barely any EV charging infrastructure as well, so it would be more like the trip you did to Nordkapp, if not even more interesting. If you do not want as much of an adventure, you could just go to Saint Petersburg, which is not far from Finland and has a Chademo.
Do the Tesla service people ever look at the odometer in your car and go "shiiiiieeeet!" :-)
Henrik Mikael Kristensen 😄

Really? My English improved? How?
@@bjornnyland you had a more heavy Norwegian accent before ;)
Not really. It's more or less the same, which is nordlands-dialect.
Norway is not like the UK.
We get 3 flakes of snow and the country stops
I no i hate it coz I'm originally from Norway oslo
As always, I love seeing Norway. The snow and ice are beautiful, to me. : )
Road trips nice....It´s beautiful watching the snowfall and driving at night :D
I forgot to wrote about the fact that it will be nice to see also the trip time between two stops in your summary and the information regarding the charge time and condition when you stops for battery.... More and more info to collect, but we all now that you are good at that.. :-)
+Gabriele Sabbatino The trip time between two stops can be calculated via the average speed and distance. But as for the other data, maybe.

I can hardly wait to see Model X roadtrips
With all that snow, looks like you'll really utilize the Ludicrous Traction that the Model X has to offer!
Cool country, cool car.

+James Tubb You would not get out of the parking lot. :-)
+James Tubb He has tires with metal studs in them for extra grip.
Hey Bjorn that is really a very difficult condition to drive through, but it seems Millenium Falcon did it quite easily (apart for the wipers) :-).
+Gabriele Sabbatino Yeah, no problemo at all. The problem was caused by slow drivers.
heated windshield, electric defrost, right under the wiper where they rest, works great on my Subaru impreza
damn son those battery cooling fans are loud

You guys have 25 superchargers already. Do you really think that you need more? In Finland we have 5 :3
It is not about amount of them, but more about coverage and there are stil some missing. Finland will have more...but sales in Finland are still lower then in Norway before SCH network.
+mravecsk1 I guess you have a point there. It's just that density of superchargers is pretty high in Norway compared to other countries

You should get a portable hairdryer to melt the ice and the snow :D

How many times you have problems with supercharger ?
200 000 km = 1000 loads ? ( maybe )
+525fishingman I had problem once that the supercharger didn't work. So that's about one time per 1000 charges or something.

+lordsmygen Tiden kan regnes ut ved å se på gjennomsnittsfart og distanse.
i see this car has 2wd how does it handle in winter expecially hills?
Do they salt the roads in Norway Bjørn?
+Graham Wathey (Frumtarn) yes
Mmmmm Haggis and Irn Bru, awesome!
Did you ever get stuck in the snow or spun out on the road with the Tesla?
+David Vu Never spun out. But I got stuck once right outside my garage. I managed to get out by myself though.
Bjørn Nyland Interesting. Would you say that your Tesla is better in winter than your old E61 BMW? Did you have more problems in the winter with your BMW?
David Vu Yes, my Tesla is better than the E61. I had no problems in the winter with E61. But neither did I with the Tesla.
Bjørn Nyland Do you think your new Model X P90D would handle snow much better than your Model S P85 or do you think there isn't much difference in the winter because the Model S is already that good in snow?
David Vu I have to wait until next winter to find out :)
Any idea about the song in the beginning of this vid?

do u ever use #periscope to chat when on long runs
+stud196761 nope
Hi Bjorn,
do you have auto strearing on you car?
He does not. You would probably see videos of him demonstrating it.
When do you post part 2 ?
+Jan Derksen In Two Tesla Weeks™
I wonder how I would feel after 1,5k km in Skoda Felicia :D
+Honza Kuchař You would probably be dead by then.
FAREWELL OSLO?... DID I MISSED A VIDEO ON WHY YOU ARE LEAVING OSLO?
what is the disc on the windscreen at the end?
+TMTGAU It's a dial showing the time of my arrival. The parking has time limit.
Why does the title say Bodø in place of Oslo ?
+Stefan Scoarta Thank you :) Corrected now.
+Fry The wiper fluid has already defroster mixed in so it can stay fluid until -30°C.
Since 4 months ago....
+Thomas Tang The finished edited video came 1 month after it was shot.

u are wery brave to drive a tesla whit 70 kmh on a snowy road like that...brave or fool:P
+83kaszas 70 km/h is nothing. I often drive much faster than that.
