FYI you don't need to click enter when color sampling something outside of AE. Just click the mouse anywhere in AE, hold it down, and drag it out to the spot you want to sample, and then release the mouse button on the color you want. No keyboard needed and this is universal to most Adobe apps. Pretty useful since the team that makes After Effects couldn't be bothered to add a swatch palette, you know, like every other Adobe app.
