A few years ago a buddy of mine and I made a make shift paint booth with 2x2's and clear sheet plastic and a window fan and then we need it we'll take it down out of the overstorage in his shop and screw it back together. We do alot of paint jobs with cheap paint, mostly with Tractor paint, the Sheet plastic also acts like a greenhouse and it dries the paint faster, instead of 24 hours it dries in 10-12 hours. I don't remember the exact cost of it but it's was less than $75 and we've used it 50 times maybe more. It was well worth the money.
That's what I love about this channel; the humble way in which Fitzee approaches everything. I'm sure many of us have stories about working on our rigs outside, laying on cardboard underneath, and scrambling for a tarp when the rain kicked up. Thanks for always keeping it real Tony!
I replaced the complete undercarriage on a ‘68 Mustang convertible working outdoors on a patio. Was without a garage (or grage as Fitzee says) for years until recently. Ran a cord from the dryer outlet for the compressor and gas welded everything. I’ve had a garage for a few years now.
Hi Tony. I can really relate to how you had to work at the time you had your truck. I do all my work in the driveway. Welding, grinding, body work and mechanical. I have a garage but I can't get the truck into it, let alone have room to work around it. Maybe some day. Doesn't matter though. You do what you have to do, right? Thanks for sharing your truck story. I liked it a lot!
Turned out great! Did a very similar project with a 1986 f150 used to start my business. Bought it for $50. Used junkyard front fenders to make rear wheel arch patch panels. Tremclad white but didn't use hardner so it took days to dry properly and you could smell the paint for about a week.
On a semi related note, the BullNose and BrickNose Fords are becoming a VERY popular build because they are the last of the cheap classic trucks. 5 years ago you'd see 1 every 6 months or so at a Cars and Coffee now you see 2 or 3 every Cars and Coffee and more at Cruise-Ins.
Hey Fitzee, you might want to batten down the hatches, get some supplies, generator gas etc. Looks like a good chance you'll be getting some severe weather next week. Hope you'll fare through it ok!
She looked good! I have the same garage as you did back then. She's hard to heat in the Winter, let me tell you. ;) Yup.. shiny to flat in the blink of an eye. Been there. Really sucks.
Where there’s a will there’s a away . One of my uncles has a truck like that his is silver it’s all original last time I seen it it had 51,000km on it and no rust and it’s in Newfoundland
Last year summer i was painting my Fiat Ducato van outside, with Rustoleum paint (something similar to tremclad i think; that stuff is not available here in Holland as far as i know). I chose a very nice bright yellow, but the next day it seemed like every species of flying insect had landed in it.... Didn't know that you can put hardener in 1K paint? Rustoleum is oil-based by the way.
Excellent paint and body work! 👍I sprayed a racecar once, and it turned out nice. I have three or four cars to paint in the near future. I hope they look as good as your truck.
Hi Tony like this video ! Did you replace cab mounts ? they tell me for safety they need changing on my 94 ,they look fine to me ,and have been looking for a video that shows how to change them ! They look solid not rusted just hard press rubber is hard ,no movement in them at all ! thanks
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp the inner just has one tiny hole about an inch only on the passenger door I got all the scale off years ago pulled back the seam some cut the bad stuff out Put alot of acid on it its been holding decent
Fitz, for a daily driver, no fancy spray booth, turned out nice.

That's a beautiful truck. Well done...
I love the budget aspect. Thank you for showing how it can be done with a budget in mind. It turned out beautiful!

That’s awesome. I enjoyed those days when I was into that

I wish you lived in Michigan Tony. I'd love to have you fix up my 95 F-150. Thanks for posting.

They are the last of the simple trucks. I have a shark nose now as well as a dentside but wish I still had the old 86.
@@MattMcFazden That's also true, I've been thinking about buying one to just use as a daily driver and future project.
Gives me hope that I can paint my 54 in the garage when it come time. Still have some rust repair to do first.

Thank you... love these video's:)
Projects like this are very relatable for most folks! Nice work!
Great mini video. I thought for sure the temp changed ruined it. But, you made it work and the shine was great. Thanks for sharing
Well done dude.
I’m still at that stage of auto body and mechanics- driveways are not that comfortable but you can always find one
Thank you Tony, she sure looked good. Regards to Wendy an the Cat.😊

My buddy still has his truck, and it is the same thing. I know your rust problems because I helped him out working on one of his babies.

No never replaced them to be honest. Unlessi was restoring the truck. If the mounts were not gone I wouldn't replace them.
Spend your time, not your money! Nice job Fitzee. Just curious how the paint has held up?
When I sold it a year later it was still shiny. Nothing broke out. Have no idea where it ever went to after
my 94 has some lower door rust on the bottoms now Pretty easy to make?
Can be. Need to replace the inner and outer bottom lip. Hopefully the inner section is still good

Even see the old building you ripped down in the background where you build your garage you work in today.
Can you clear over that trmclad?
Yes
Hello Fitzee. I actually thought you were going to show fixing your driveway! LOL
GEORGE B
Damn … I was hoping for tips on how to makeover my driveway!
