Feel free to report a wellness check as everyone above has mentioned and if a neighbor has already gone and reported one, it will show up on the records and they will let you know right away if it has already been done. It would be good to hear an update on this situation. Beautiful work on the lawn by the way.

That was my comment too. People don't care anymore. They do care if it affects them though. Of course, I don't know the whole situation but I would think someone could have stepped up and helped.
I agree, Lawn Care Juggernaut did a yard and there was a dead elderly person in the house that had been dead about a month.
Firstly, I'm worrying about the dear old soul. Could somebody do a welfare check? Then although you did a great job (as you always do) why couldn't the neighbors have done this for their neighbor? Sometimes I wonder where our world is headed if we are only interested in me, myself and I.
I have the same thoughts as well.
My husband took it upon himself to mow our neighbor's yard when he was hospitalized. The man died. My husband continued mowing the lawn for the widow until she sold the house. We even hired someone to come in and do extensive clearing of weeds and brush went the house was put on the market.
That's just who we are here in the Midwest.

@@insightstar I also have the same thoughts as well. Instead of calling the city on my next-door older lady neighbor , I took a whole day and a half to clean up her backyard. All of the other neighbors just didn’t get involved or help me. They just complemented me when I was done. Bless your hearts for helping your neighbor.
I think it needs to be said that if a neighbor goes in there to mow and breaks something or wrecks something they will be the ones paying for it. These guys are pros and willing to take the risk. I think a neighbor would have to think long and hard before going over uninvited and possibly damaging something on the property.

Bless you for doing this for her. When my husband passed away suddenly at 41 the guy that did our lawn service did the rest of the year for free. It was one of the nicest things that happened that year. Took away that one worry.

You guy are doing a great job! At my previous home I always mowed the neighbors lawn when i mowed mine. They were in their 80's and I was not about to watch thew old gentlemen try to push mow 1 acre. Their grandson lived next to them and wouldn't help. So I took care of it! My wife and I even had them at our wedding!
Any time we can help one another is a blessing all around. Keep up your excellent work.

The yard looks great. I hope she's okay. I just heard back from a friend in AZ. We had the sheriff's office do a wellness check on another friend fighting cancer. I live 1200 miles away. Couldn't reach him for 3+ weeks. He lives alone. They found him in a hospital 65 miles away. So wellness checks are a good thing to do regarding older folks and ppl who are sick. I hope the neighbors will make time to help her.
I watched another channel where a crew was mowing a yard for free. He was unable to mow the backyard because of the smell. He ended up calling the police and sure enough, someone was deceased inside the house. He was unable to finish because the police called it a crime scene. So, you never know! Too bad these neighbors didn’t keep better tabs on this poor lady.

I'm 74 I fell home alone. Drove myself to the hospital, spent four nights there. Been on and off the last year, not one neighbor knocked....crickets. I'm making a sign for my corner lot. IT'S A TEST. let's see if they get it as my yard goes feral.

How is it that in our world someone that lost their husband and was "very sick" could of possibly passed away and the neighbors living right next to them not know. It's so sad.....and the neighbor on either side of her could of mowed her front lawn for her. It's not like it would of taken too long!

The fact that neither of the neighbors would take an extra 15 minutes to cut that small of a front yard at least amazes me. We’re all going to be in their shoes one day. Keeping her yard clean helps keep critters away that we want to avoid

That backyard looks like more than a couple of weeks neglect. I too would feel an overwhelming dread and like you I would push through it. You're doing the right thing and doing it unto the Lord.

I kept thinking 2 things while watching...Wow! how sweet it is for these guys to do this and why hasn't the neighbors helped out before it got this bad? It wouldn't take all of that work if the neighbors got together and helped or at least everyone on her street pitch in $5 or so and hire someone, maybe a teenager to do it. I'm 59, overweight, not in great health...diabetes, high bp, arthritis, can't walk but a few feet at a time, have an autoimmune dz (lupus)causing allergic reaction to the sun on my skin so I have to wear sun blocking clothes, hat, long sleeves, gloves, etc to be outside. I live in AL hot humid weather. That said, I help my 94 yo neighbor out with her lawn because she broke her arm and can't ride her mower. Neither one of us can afford to hire people like y'all. She's on Social Security and I'm on disability after working 30 years in medical field. I just don't understand why people don't help their neighbors anymore.
I know this is presumptuous but look into a Ketogenic meal plan and it will resolve MOST of your health issues :) It worked for me in my 60's!

If my neighbour had such an overgrown lawn I would offer to cut it down. Sometimes suburban living creates a social distance between people and that has to be overcome by developing a good local community spirit. That way people can look after each other while respecting each others space. It's important to say "hi" to your neighbours and not just tut tut if their garden gets neglected. Keep up the good work on HIS Turf guys!
As a lesson for us all, if our neighbor's lawn is getting out of hand, maybe we could take it upon ourselves to check up on our neighbors and lend a helping hand.

When I was a young man, I wanted a CR 250 really bad. I decided to start asking people if I could do their yard work. I was just 15. I worked my butt off and did many free jobs just because that was the way I was raised. (pay it forward) I never contemplated quitting once. I really wanted that motorcycle. While finishing up a really big job, the lady I was working for had secretly chatted with my parents as to why I was so determined. This kind elderly couple and my parents helped me get this bike ! That determination followed me throughout my life.
Someone should request a wellness check. I am in a similar situation. My neighbors rarely come out, I could go for weeks with no one checking, and my brother can't be bothered to check. I'm going to get one of the alerts shortly. I'm only 73, do all my yard work, etc. in Tucson heat. You just never know if I would get too hot, fall off a ladder, get a snake bite or anything else. It is a shame this was let go so long. The back porch is a real mess. Thanks for what you did.
At 24:50 when your property is that close to ur sick elderly neighbors , i never understood why a 'neighbor' couldn't finish cutting that small section alongside their driveway ...

Wish I had someone like you in my town! My mower won't start and the guy I had mowing it quit coming cause he got a contract to mow a bunch of other yards. My grandson is willing to mow but he can't get my mower started which is just a year old. I just hope I can get it mowed before the park decides to come mow it for $75 when it is only a $20 yard. You do such a wonderful job!!

Kind of a crazy suggestion, but thermal heat imaging binoculars would help you find animals in the grass before you cut it, so the animals don't get killed. Plus, heat seeking binoculars are totally cool lol.

I have 6 acres (Three cleared), while I was cutting my grass I left the shop door up. When I came back to the shop there was a turtle in there chilling under the shop fan!! From the looks of it some one had cut the grass in the front while the back yard looks like it hadn't been touched in a couple of years, I can see why you would want to "QUIT", glad you didn't because the end result was awesome!
Years ago I had a gravely pro 40 wallk behind that was one tough mower . After a while we used it as a bushhog to cut fields
