Wasim is a genius..once in a generation bowler..when i first saw him on TV there were commentators saying that if their is one bowler who can bowl 6 different deliveries its Wasim..at that time i was not liking him, because our batsman used to struggle against him. But while growing up it changed from disliking to admiration. Watching him and guessing what he will bowl next was fun too. Small smooth run up and swing and accuracy. Don't think we saw any other bowlers like him since his retirement

P.S. Brett is being modest here, I remember him getting Jacques Kallis out in his peak at the MCG in 2006 when he was well set on a flat deck ..he set him up with a bouncer that hit kallis in the head and followed it up with a full one that clean bowled him, Kallis literally had no answer

In 2006, Brett Lee was 30. The instance that Brett Lee is talking about in the video is when Wasim is easily 45+, retired, and a coach.
Jacque Kallis has actually admitted that the toughest bowler he's ever faced is Wasim Akram.
Brian Lara, Ponting, even Sangakarra have said that. Pretty sure Sangakarra only played Wasim after Wasim was 34 years old. For an all time great like Sanga to say that 34 year old Wasim was the toughest bowler he faced in his career, says a lot.

Wasim Akram was the greatest fast bowler of all times. He did swing the new ball, semi new, old and semi old ball in both directions. Swing, seam and reverse swing every kind of swing and seam he used to do.

Wasim is inspired by great great cricketers, but Wasim is inspired by Imran Khan. Imran Khan has been ruling our hearts for the last forty years.

Brett Lee was the poster boy for fast bowling from 1999 to about 2007...
I could never pick my favourite between Akhtar and Lee.
Lee was just deadly man. Unbelievable intensity.

I feel lucky what an era of fast bowlers.
Time when Indians use to love Imran and Wasim. People openly claimed to be fans of Imran and Wasim girls could drool over them openly and no one cared.
Lucky to see you guys bowl. Amazing all of you.
