Use an assortment of dazzling items to take out your opponents: from bats, missiles, and ice lasers to devastating black holes that suck up all players who dare roll in its path.
Mix it up by adding in optional bots to the competition! Split-screen local multiplayer supported.
Game modes include:
Race - It’s a race to the finishline! Exciting powerups await to keep players on their toes.
Goal Rush - Roll through as many goals as you can to gain points and outscore the opposing team In this team-based mode.
Ba-Boom! - Pass the bomb to your opponents and roll far away before time runs out! Keep your paws intact to earn points.
Banana Hunt - Collect as many bananas as you can before time runs out. A monkeys dream come true!
Robot Smash - Destroy the bots! Two teams compete to eliminate as many robots and pile up as many points as they can before time runs out.

No, those aren't the guest characters. These are highly likely unlockable characters. Guest characters will be from other franchises.

Huh, I'm surprised bots are in there, might be the first monkey ball worth buying since the Vita.
Of course it's Sega so I'll wait to see where's the catch, like basic features locked behind DLCs.
If you’re wondering about the DLC: the Digital Deluxe version of this costs 20 extra dollars and includes the SEGA Pass, which includes 6 crossover SEGA characters that will be released over time after the game’s release (apparently up until March next year?) The characters can be bought individually for 5 dollars each.
IDK if that’s worth it, given that there’s a whole lot of base game SMB universe characters already to choose from. The biggest worry is that at least one of these characters will have OP stats (the characters have stats in this, like in Banana Blitz) that’ll be overcentralizing in both multiplayer and speedruns, thus making the game P2W. I might just wait to see who the characters are and buy one or two if I like them.
@@mbredboy3193 i'm already calling it, Ulala from Space Channel 5 is gonna be a playable crossover character. and Beat from Jet Set Radio too. and probably Sonic as well. these are just my speculations

It looks good and it looks like there are going to be even more secret playable characters, I hope there are Amy Rose, Yoko the psychic monkey and Shantae in monkey form, and if not I will be happy if there are more monkey girls or a koala girl

I'm just not sure if there's any single player content to dig my teeth in so i'm a bit hesitant to buy.
There is an adventure mode with 200 levels you can play solo or with a friend.

Because they want it to underperform. Then after it flops they’ll say “see? Nobody cares about Monkey Ball. We’re not making any more games.” Even though they only put it on one platform.
@@thebigpig2364 i'm pretty sure they put it on 1 platform because its the only platform Monkey Ball ever sells well enough on. What's the point of wasting time and money on porting it to Playstation or Xbox when the series sells the best on Nintendo?

It seems like the base game has a whole bunch of Super Monkey Ball universe characters already, given all the silhouettes in this trailer, so you won’t have too much of a shortage of characters if you skip the DLC. (I’ll probably skip Digital Deluxe and maybe buy a DLC character or two individually if I really like them.)
