- Ever wondered goes into creating a loop performance ? Here I try to explain everything going on in my mind in my new Loop Performance on the BOSS RC-600. Watch the Full Performance, without talking, here • RC-600 Loop Performanc...
I've always enjoyed Looping and it has become a staple part of what I do, not just with BOSS but on my Gigs too.... I'm hoping to upload more performances and examples of how I like to use these Loop Stations in the near future.
I hope you may've found this video insightful in some way and I'll see you on the next one.
P.S Although this video was sponsored by BOSS all Concepts, Music, Audio and Visual were created and recorded Solely by me. Thanks for watching. 👍🎸🙏

It just blows me away...completely far away, what you can do with your equipment. I love the fact that you just get down and make a bloody great sounding track without even breaking a sweat. Just for exhibition purposes. And the way you matter of fact explain what you are doing.. well... it just blows me away...Cheers Mr.H for your hard work and wonderful talents. You really are amazing. Peace 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸✨
Alex is the Boss set to auto cut off if you slightly are out...as in I can set RMX drums to trigeer "immedialty" Next 16th _ next bar etc.
Same with Ableton.
It's so seamless the way you do it...I find the stress of triggers slightly cut short or a bit off the is unit seems so much easier than setting preferences in each Bar regardless of length.
A stellar performance and world class as for as the entire RUclips community of multi instrumentalists virtuosos.
Brilliant! Boss has certainly come a long way.
Yes Sir, these Loopers are really incredible. So much potential. Thanks for watching 👍🎸🙏
Thank you Sir. After watching your RC5 introduction I bought a used RC2 to step into those pedals. You are still awesome on guitar and loops. Also thanks to Boss supporting you.
That's very cool mate, I hope you're having fun with them still. Al the very best and thanks for watching mate. 👍🎸🙏
The tone is great......
Thanks so much 👍🎸🙏
@@AlexHutchingsMusic keep it up man.... Great stuff
Are the tones in this video using the amp modeling on the pedal?
Thankyou thankyou alex. I’ve literally been waiting years and years for somebody to do a multi section looping thing with different progressions in each section! HALLELUJAH 🎉
Thanks for being awesome. Most tutorials for this pedal have the know how, but lack the musical skill to showcase the pedal artistically
So I've have a hard enough time trying to wrap my brain around my Boss RC-10R. This things makes my looper look like a baby's toy!
Excellent looping video showing me the stars to shoot for.
Very nice presentation, that's actually What's Needed, REAL WORLD CREATIVE USAGE, that Truly HINTS at What IS Possible, and a Very Talented Player. Nice Piece. Thanks!! Very interested to Hear and See the funk Piece as well.
Fantastic looking forward to Boss sending the pre orders out!
Cheers Dan. Hopefully they'll do that soon. All the best 👍🎸🙏
Great performance! Do you by chance have a video explaining your entire set up with the RC 600? I would love to know how you got your drums incorporated.
Gracias por compartir estas experiencias y consejos para hacer estos trabajos.
I never thought about using external foot pedals, I will have to order some.
That was super helpful! Thanks!
You're welcome! All the best 👍🎸🙏
Hi Alex. Great demonstration of the use of the loop station. Thanks as always for your useful teachings. All the best and good we 🎸🎸
Thanks so much Luigi, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a fantastic weekend. 👍🎸🙏
Alex you’re such an impressive artist - wow!! Stunning video! Can’t wait to see how all that works from a settings point of view. Hope you’re well btw
Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’ll be doing more on this soon. All the very best. 👍🙏🎸
Brilliant per usual, Alex! Your explanation is very helpful and useful!
Great improvisation..... beautifully done as always. Rock on \../
Thanks so much Axxa Music 👍🎸🙏
I will never forget your GT 55 video and I was so close to buying one! I then saw you as the Guitarist with Steven Wilson and it totally made sense that he had chosen you 😊
2:14 I see what you did there
Thanks for the info I'm one step more convinced to buy this pedal
Thank you for this explanation, you displayed everything I needed to know about this new pedal.
I appreciate it.
Brilliant to see a pro using loopers, but this specific pedal well.
So many people in the forums complain about how bad the RC600 is, so it's nice to see it being used well, even if it is in a video.
Also nice to see someone who knows their equipment.
So many guys out there who call themselves " loop artists" just because they can record a weak beatbox and loop 4/5 chords.
Thanks for taking the time to upload..👍🏿
Future me may get one of these, if current me decides to get a new computer so I can do proper updates! Thanks for posting
Mine is on it's way! Wish I could have you come over and hook everything up for me. That's the only part I'm not looking forward to! Haha
How exciting, I hope you have fun when it arrives. If I was in the neighbourhood I'd gladly help. 😉 Wishing you much Joy with it when it arrives. All the best 👍🎸🙏
Wow Floored me! My new favorite channel - Liked and subbed!
wow, Thank you so much. 👍🎸🙏
Hey! amazing! Can you tell me if there is a way to start 2 tracks just with one action? just one button...I like to put the kick on track one and basse on track 2 for example , how can I start the two simultaneously with RC 600? Thanks.
Gosh, this is really ideas digger cool gadget. Thank, Alex.
Cheers Paul 👍🙏🎸
*HOLY HELL* this is amazing man. mind blown!!!
Thank you mate, I’m glad you enjoyed it. All the very best 👍🙏🎸
Amazing! For a multi instrumentalist would you recommend the rc-600 or the rc 505 mk2 ?
Are you using a click from the RC-600 in your ears to get the whole thing started? Seems like the only way to start up in perfect time with the units preset tempo and bars.
Flawless divinity ⚜️x🤘🏻x⚜️
Oh joy! I knew Alex would come up with something brilliant. Prog metal looping at last 😊. Can you do odd time signatures on it?
15/8 preferably.
The rc600 community could use a deep dive explanation into how you did your Loop settings. I am versed the rc600 but this is next level
great stuff... so much to learn
Can you build up a verse and then move onto a chorus and then switch back to the verse again as you can with the singular sounds loop pedal? Can the song have different structural loops? Verse bridge chorus verse etc
can you please explain the external foot-switches. im only finding videos that assign them to all start all stop or fx and clearly you are using them to record on the next tracks. thank you so much.
That was purely awesome . But how did you synchronize drums and the looper ? midi? does it work well?
Great multi-view... really helps !
incredible sound everything you do with this new pedal, and the ideas phrases everything adjusts to the imagination that you can do Alex thanks 🙏👏👏
A great demo! Thanks!
hi , just a quick question , how are you triggering to record and stop on the E-drums .. can a drum trigger be used as a stop/start switch ? Ive just order a rc600 and would like to try looping with my Roland drums and guitars .. nice vid .
Beautifully done!
Where can I listen to the full audio track? :)
I'm curious what you use for guitar tone into the Boss? Axe FX? Trying to figure out a way to bring minimal gear to a gig but get good tone
My Dream Set Up!!!
Electric Drum Kit & Keyboard to record stuff via MIDI …. Along with a DAW to add in guitars …. Then a multi-track looper to be able to take things live/portable.
😊👍👍👍
Does Boss make a smaller 4 Track version of the RC 600?
The RC600 is just too big for a portable rig for me, but I need at least 4 separate tracks … here is my idea ….
* I’d make backing tracks by importing core tracks from a DAW like Drums, Bass, Keyboards, maybe additional guitars like this……
Track 1) Drums
Track 2) Bass
Track 3) Keyboards / Various Sounds
Track 4) Other Backing Guitars.
Then, since they are individual tracks I could control volumes of mixes & effects, or mute them completely if I had availability of real people/musicians to replace those individual tracks.
So I’m either jamming with looper like a complete band alone, or subbing in or out real musicians in place of those tracks whenever available.
* No matter what the situation, I’d have a full band to jam with always!
Thanks for Sharing 😊👋
That's a very interesting way to think of using it... To be honest for what yo've described this would be completely perfect... and you've even have 2 more track available... I'm afraid I don't think there is anything I can think of more portable and capable of what you need it for... Sorry mate... P.S it isn't actually that big in real life... I've just started gigging with it and it's pretty compact. Either way good luck with your endeavours. 👍🙏🎸
Waiting patiently for more how-to in depth rc600 videos
Dang your selling me on this pedal - would this integrate well with midi on elektron stuff like the digitakt ?
Have they finally enabled multisection serial looping at last ?!!!!
Great man, such good sound and exposition of your ideas
Thanks a bunch for making a video like this, Alex. Very informative. You're an awesome person 😉
My pleasure! Thank you for watching. All the very best 👍🎸🙏
Awesome work!
Thanks Travis. All the best, 👍🎸🙏
You have a very melodic style of playing. Love it!
Holy crap man....You just blew my mind, you are an amazing musician \m/
My RC-600 will be here in the next hour or two. Stoked.
Thank you mate, hope you're having fun with it... All the best 👍🙏🎸
As always great Alex
Thanks Stu 👍🎸🙏
Awesome job my friend. Very inspiring. Thanks so much
My pleasure mate, You're very welcome. All the best 👍🎸🙏
Excellent video. You deserve way more subs. Refreshing to see and hear a true multiinstrumentalist which actually knows what he’s doing.
Nice job on your 1st venture. I liked the way you explained your progress. Wasn't too complicated, and not too much talking. Good job!
Oh, I am going to get one of these or a 505. Any thoughts on one over the other. I have had loopers in the past and got rid of them for one reason or another. A trio and a long time ago a Oberheim echoplex.
Damn dude. You make me want to practice more. Your improv is out of this world.
I have a question 🙋♂️
As an example , Let’s say you have recorded guitar parts on 3 different tracks
Can I turn these on and off at any time just by pressing on the main buttons at the bottom or do I have to press the track select button to move over to a specific track before I can turn it on or or off ?
Incredible. The RC and Alex.
Hi mate nice setup - question though - I heard that on this device it is not possible to abort the Rec phase (Red Light) on other channels after recording the first loop, until at least one whole measure is completed (the Red LED just starts to flash). Is this true?
I am still trying to save up for the 300 model! This 600 model looks amazing and the inputs + auto loop feature smoothly assists in production. Absolute legend Alex cheers for the demo 👏⭐🤖💥
Wow! Great video sir..
Thank you mate. 👍🙏🎸
Question:
I have a Tascam Model 16 Mixer. Here is my basic setup for this question.
Channel 2 - Vocal Mic
Channel 3 - Vocal Mic
Channel 4 - Vocal Mic
Channel 5 - Bass Guitar
Channel 6 - Piano
Channel 7 - Drums
Channel 8 - guitar
I am very ignorant when it comes to this stuff. My main outputs run into my PA system. If I run 2 cables from either the sub output/aux output of the Model 16 into one of the instrument inputs on the Boss Loop Station. Will all of those instruments record into the looper?
Thanks so much. Let me know if I can clarify anything.
My guess is you will not get an answer from him as this is simply a paid push for Boss. ALEX…just sayin it is what it is. ..I have already preordered
Hey Alex, This is just awesome, what a great performance, very inspiring! Miss U bro!
Hello Brother, how the Devil are you? I really hope we can hang sometime in the Future.... I hope you Lib..(Rib) has completely healed... 😂 👍🙏🎸
@@AlexHutchingsMusic All good buddy, miss you much, hope to see you soon somewhere! My libs ale nevel gonna be the same again... lock $ lorr killed em 🤣
Hi Alex, very nice equipment & style good work! Stay safe man cheers giovanni
Thanks so much man. All the best to you 👍🎸🙏
Lovely to listen to you Alex keep these video comming mate .
Hello.
Where is the TW pedal on rc600? With what name can i find it please?
Thank u!
You shredder! Good stuff man 👌
great video Alex! very informative!
Do you happento have any idea how to have the mic loopable and not loopable? I.e starting a loop with a shaker, playing guitar whilst singing and only looping the guitar (not looping what I'm singing), please?
Thank you :)
- Soph x
hey Alex - Ever check out the boss rc505 or rc505 MK2? prolly best you have pedals i suppose
Awesome! Great demo/format to show off what you're doing, and what its capable of. I'm wondering about the capabilities for having some pedals in "single track" mode, and some in standard/parallel layer mode... is that possible? ie: set tracks 1,2,3 to play only one at a time for separate, exclusive sections of a song, but have 4,5,6 set in standard mode where you can layer them and turn on/off independently.
Thank you mate… you know that’s a great question…. I’ll look into that… that’s something that would be cool for sure… I’m sure it is possible… I’ll investigate and include it in my next video. All the best 👍🙏🎸
I would love to see that also
Something similar to my questions... Spliting the tracks would be great! I know you can do Single mode for all of them. With some smart assigns you could probably make a switch stop all tracks but the one that you want, which could mimic what you want. I thought about the Track select button - assigning it to stop the bank of tracks that's currently visible and switching to the next bank of 3.
What I don't understand is why Boss won't allow us to have multiple song parts (Boss calls them Phrases) consisting of 6 tracks each. I mean - even the RC-202 can do that!
I am going to get the RC-600! Got a bit of money but will sell my RC-5 and ME-80 in mint condition to raise the extra cash :)
faaaaak! i Can't even figure this thing out but listening to that was worth it!
Cheers Bob. 👍🎸🙏
Sick. Whoa.
Sick riffs!
Thank you mate. 👍 🙏🎸
Ha ha, I sold a few things and got my pre-order in the bag :) I got a good feeling about this unit
Oh y god! Awesome demo!! congrats man! based on your experience with RC600, what is your feeling about the vocal effects ? (is there good reverb/delay/harmonize?), and any view on the use of acoustic guitar with the looper ? many thanks !
Hi Alex, thanks for the video,I'm curios about the input FX, is it possible to select which input resource it's gonna, apply on? for example if it's possible to play the guitar and singing at the same time while only having the effect on the mic inut instead of the input for guitar? thanks very much!
No worries mate. I will have to check that but in theory yes I think that is no problem... All the best and thanks for watching 👍🎸🙏
Pro! Not many people will see the effort and skills playing out behind the scenes.
Anyone knows what scale has been played there?
Amazing!!!!!
Thank you mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it. All the best and thanks for watching 👍🎸🙏
great man! as always!
Thanks very much S S, much appreciated 👍🎸🙏
Superb!
Thx mate 👍🙏🎸
great job. loved the video. i've been wanting to see someone do a tutorial like this. great idea to talk your way thru the demo ... works great and flows better for the lesson. yeah, you could have gone on. but, great job. keep going. and, thank you.
Thank you mate, I'm glad you found it helpful. Wishing you all the best 👍🎸🙏
Wow!
How long did it take you to work all that out???
Damn impressive.
Too complicated for a beginner?
excellent ... and could you please explain to me how to assign a pedal so that I can turn the mic input on and off ... so that I can record myself on the chorus of a song, but not on the verse ... so that the 2nd time through the chorus, I can sing harmony, and maybe on the 3rd time I can sing a 3rd harmony ??? Thank you. Z
Well played!
Thanks mate 👍🙏🎸
BRUTAL
Amazing
I have never actually used or seen an RC-600 in person before but I have seen so many cool videos like your video that I ordered it today and will receive it in a few days. Your video was very impressive and so many well-thought out ideas. I also find that you use an 8-string fscinating (as I own 2). Keep up the great work!
Any regrets? I’m close to getting my own
How goes it?
Thank you Alex for the insight into Boss's New RC-600!!! It looks like another great Innovational tool for all musicians!!! You are The Pinnacle in Product Demonstrations for Boss/Roland Musical Products! They are very lucky to have such a Extremely talented Professional like you to take their professional line of products to the next level! Cheers 🍻 mate Great 👍🏻 Work! Dana E💫
Great 👍
DAMN.
👍🙏🎸
I have no idea how tu plug in the guitar! Do I plug the guitar to my amp first so I can use my effects from the amp and then plug it back to the amp?
Jesus Christ you are good hahaha super awesome. Definitely earned a sub!
Hello. I have a problem. I bought a new Boss RC 600 looper. On my computer I have songs made on my old Boss RC 50 looper. How do I make the RC 50 wav files work on the RC 600? Because so far the RC 600 looper shows the message FILE NOT SUPPORTED. And I have a lot of trouble, because there are 10 songs that are not easy. RC 600 wav file and RC 50 wav file. But in the RC 50 I mostly have MONO files, or is that a problem? And some settings need to be made .. tips. Please. I have a recital in a few days ..
One suggestion would be to use a daw like Logic, import the old wav files and convert/export them to a format the RC-600 understands… hope that helps and good luck 👍
Great demo and performance man!
Thats amazing
Can U suggest a portable table-top MIDI controller (compatible with the
rc600) that has at LEAST 8 volume knobs or faders? (1 for each channel, 1
for FX level +1 for output level.)
Hey Alex, Would there be any chance of a Holdsworth episode of guitar gods? Cheers
hi
is there quantization ? how to make a mixdown of a finished record ? is it possible without a computer ?
Very impressive control you have of 2 very different musical instruments. I read the owners manual but still have yet to figure out if any input can be routed ONLY to another specific output? (I'm guessing maybe not.) but then if not.. Can any track be routed to specific outputs? Like track 5 ONLY to the L+R sub-outs and not to the L+R main outs? is THAT possible?
