- I prefer Arthur, he is a more complex character, but John is also a very cool one. So expect a video about Arthur sometime, just not this week.
What an amazing and heartfelt story, although I like to imagine a happier ending for John and his family. Arthur´s end is fitting to his character.

Robert Kurwica, in RDR2. It just happens in a random encounter when you come across a dirt road in the map. But they can appear around most dirt roads in the map. I think only away from cities or towns. They just tell you things.

Arthur is great. He really is. But I wish people would stop shitting on John because they like Arthur more. John is the OG, and I think his arc over both games is just as good if not better than Arthur's. Either way, rest in peace Arthur Morgan and John Marston. Two great characters and great men. 😢

well no because dutch still robbed ppl after that. in arthurs last moments when he said "i gave u all i had", dutch realises how far he went against his own son that he let a rat like micah get to him. so thats why dutch shoots micah at the end because he still feels remorse over arthur
Listen, I absolutely love Arthur Morgan and mourned his passing like the rest of us did. But with that said, I still adore John Marston equally as much. Both character’s respective journeys compliment one another perfectly. It seems that people have forgotten that we all collectively cried over John’s death for eight years.

Having played the first game when it came out, these words were haunting when playing rdr2.
I love John Marston, the best character ever made, good father, good husband and at the very end a good man... such a beautiful shame that the last days he got to live were the best days that any man could ever ask for.

Since I'm so bored I'm gonna explain why
Cloud: he's always been my absolute favorite, his personality is legendary and I remember spending hours just roaming around the map fighting hundreds of enemies, each one weirder than the last.
Ezio: The first ever character I played as in assassin's Creed, instead of being edgy and broody the dude is a playboy with good morals and never failed to make me laugh, requiescat in pace, Ezio.
John: I think this video explains most of it.
Link: Ocarina of time defines my entire childhood, I must have logged at least 2500 hours in that game in total and I still play it to this day, not to mention the lore surrounding this incarnation.
Arthur: John will always be my favorite but Arthur's story took more of an emotional toll and he had more to tell as he was older and has lived more than John, he had more to atone for seeing as he was one of the head gang members and was responsible for much more than John.
Sephiroth: **one winged angel intensifies**
Bayek: Bayek's story hit hard, he is pretty much an Egyptian Ezio and he showed more emotion than any other assassin's Creed character, you could feel what he felt and he was just phenomenal.
Sora: Never played kingdom hearts but I do like Sora, always have.
Alucard: hours of raging at symphony of the night to the absolute excitement of seeing him in an actual anime was one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt, almost as good as seeing cloud in smash.
Link: I like this particular incarnation because his story is directly linked to the hero of time (hahahaha) I actually prefer the link in alttp, ooa, oos, and la as a character but the lore to the hero of twilight is too good to pass up.

They were not good people but at the bottom they tried to be, they tried to live a better life but their pasts chased them 'til the end, but they found and achieved what they wanted: Redemption and peace. These things is what make these two protagonists so good and two of the best in the whole gaming industry

Everybody talks about when unshaken happened, fire in your eyes, or especially That's the way it is. But the old fans remember the first time Edgar flopper into the river and this song played. Shit was a holy experience.
I played rdr2 first but knew the entire story of 1. When i finally played rdr1 in 2022 and deadmans gun hit it was amazing. I love all the songs from the games but deadmans gun will always be my favorite

For some reason the end of the track deadman’s gun literally gets me every single time it’s just a slow sad melody that makes you feel empty and happy at the same time
Same, I don't know how but that's one of the few songs that can make me sob in tears when I hear it. It's a positive message but with a very sad melancholic melody.

Deadman's gun is Jack's song. It's about Jack's revenge against Ross. The deadman is John but the "you" in the song is Jack.
Sorry bud but I ain't, you ever hear the phrase, "your a deadman" it's implying the person in question will be dead soon. John over the course of the story is a Deadman. Listen to the lyrics. "Given you a reason to fight" "hands upon a deadmans gun" it's pretty obvious

John and Arthur’s characters are the two best rockstar games characters. There’s no argument. Gta series had so good characters, but Arthur is the best, and John is a very close second. For me, Red dead 1 was more story driven, and rdr 2 was more about characters, since it had a lot of new characters and a brand new and complex protagonist

After playing both games multiple times I’d like to say I owe my childhood to this game and it’s beautiful story
Both Arthur and John finally got their redemption by giving everything all they had for their loved ones, like an honourable man in the end.
I admit, when rdr ended and credits start rolling this song blew my mind, gave me a whole different kind of respect for Rockstar.

When I first played rdr 2, my reaction seeing John with his scars
To me actually both Characters Arthur and John were wrote in a way the gamer when plays the game he feels like he connect with their stories I feel like rockstar writes the red dead series better than GTA red dead shows you the realities of a person's choices however he choose the outcome will show us.
The story of these two are two good hearted people who ended up with the wrong bunch.

What i like about John, is he has the personality of Hosea and Arthur. Being cautious and knowing the danger from miles away, doubting about Dutch intentions and his plan, able to confront over anything such as the barn door for example. He may not be perfect but he tried. That's all.

Eh. In one hand it's such an anticlimactic answer to such a long standing question, on the other hand I'm at least glad we found out how he got the scars and he didn't just already have them with no mention of why.

Skinned, fried and cut up potatoes I’m also upset we didn’t get to see the infamous Blackwater Massacre John and the other gang members talked about. I hope If we do get a story DLC it focuses on the gangs time in Blackwater, casing the score alongside the deceased members Jenny, Mac, Davey, and possibly Marston’s daughter if Rockstar wants to fix that plot hole.
JINX that’s me same, be fore I finished the game I kept thinking this would be the ending: “ok so cause Arthur isn’t in rdr1 so it’s likely he’s going to die, and if he dies when they will do the same thing as RDR1 but you’ll probably play as John cause it seems the most likely. I think during the black water masicure something will happen to John and none of the other members will go back for him so then Arthur goes back saving him and then gameplay immediately switches to John (kinda like in missions in gtav with all 3 ppl) and your running away to regroup. Arthur either obviously dies or is presumed dead and you finish the rest of the game as John.
That’s what I thought would happen.
