I pretty much only do XL rides and have noticed that in some of these rides they are paying me or giving me XL offers with Uber X pay rates, especially with long rides. So, I do believe that these companies continue to lowering our pay even more as times goes by. When rider got in the car I over heard him tell his friend I can’t believe I paid $60 for this ride I couldn’t believe it I was only getting $23 I said excuse are you serious and told him it said $23 on my end I asked can I see your receipt for it and he was more then happy to show me even let me take a picture. Riders don’t want to over pay for the ride either . Ask your riders especially one’s going to the airport how much they paid don’t worry it’s not going to offend them I had so many riders willing to help because they saw what I was making for the ride as well all of them let me take pictures and I am not even playing about it no one wants to support a company taking more then half almost damn near 2/3 of the fair. The arrogance of the owner of Uber is ridiculous he thinks he can do what ever he want because we don’t monitor there app in America but they do in Europe they watch what Uber makes and what the driver makes .

    i just wanted to add to the comments on super short rides. I have had those where it's people grocery/walmart shopping that basically need your trunk space to carry groceries and stuff home. They have too much stuff to walk home even though it's not far. Older people going to and from medical appointments that are not far. Also college kids carrying luggage and stuff, taking short trips.
    So my point is, sometimes a short trip doesn't always mean that people are just too lazy to walk
    I did medical transport for awhile and their minimum for under 5 miles was 5.00. And that was 2 years ago. I heard it's higher now.

      Agreed, that was my comment. Maybe the pax is having a medical condition or this one guy I picked up at a restaurant next to his apartment, $11 trip. Literally, 1min to drop off. He had hip replacement. I also dropped a guy off at the hosp who was literally shaking, he didn't know what was going on. So many more people over the years using Uber to and from the hosp due to high healthcare costs (ambulance, etc.)

    As a driver, I look at the miles alone. The true overhead is in gas and vehicle costs. However, my passengers are fine to tell my their fares at times and I get 1/3rd more often than not. So 70/30 is a fat lie.

    It’s honestly ridiculous at this point also I’m in the Las Vegas market and it’s just a joke at this point because I just did a trip that was around $17.09 and 13.97 miles and that’s including 30% extra and also a $2.75 bonus time wise it’s alright at 25 minutes but mile wise it’s not because per mile I’m spending around 3 to like 2 bucks while I’m only getting around a $1.22 and then not only to put in perspective the base of my ride was $11.03 divide that by 13 miles and I would’ve drove someone else.

    Look not defending the fair we get for sure but looking at it from a different perspective; the exclusive person could be a patient, could have limited mobility, could not know the area confidently to walk - there are a lot of other variables that are not told in the rate card and distance. Even the PAX rating can be obscured because we have a lot of drivers that have too high expectations of their PAX. I've accepted ratings lower than that and even got a decent conversation and a nice tip out of it.

    It's not just minimum fares. Uberx paying 10 dollars to downtown Austin 7 miles. Charging customer 50 to 60 bucks. Charging customers only 70 dollars to go 90 miles to San Antonio and only offering us 40 bucks and then customers are like why aren't I getting a ride. But I think they are lowering the price on the city to city trips to prevent us from cash riding them.

      Great insight. Pax are complaining about longer waits, too. I educate them about the lower fares and I share them my own story on how I've been doing Uber 8yrs and this is the first year that I hung up the towel doing Uber full time. I started a new job this past monday, training for 2months and then I'll be remote. I told them now I do 2 or 3 trips during the morning on the way to work and after work I do about 2 or 3 trips as well. I don't do Uber Eats during the morning, just pax, but after work I will do 1 delivery and two ppl. Then I head home around 7pm to wind down for the night. I'm only doing this until most of my debt is clear, then I will do Uber only on weekends.

    Also, the percentage is going down. Most have flipped from 60% for me to 40% or less for me. Not noticing it much because they're putting a lot of it on the customer.

    Lyft bonus rides aren’t really bonuses either I had a ride pop up that a ride was $12.06 I was in a $4 bonus area when I got the ride( I have the ss to prove it). The ride was really $8 they had already factored in the $4. When I checked to see how much the passenger paid they paid $37 while lyft had only given me $12.06. I was pissed granted this isn’t the first crazy ride I’ve ever had. I have plenty of ss of bogus rides. Mind you the ride was only a 15min ride. We don’t get major Bonuses in Chicago I’ve never seen anything more then $10 but of course you have to be in that area to even get it. Let alone their bonus hrs only last an hour which means you may get one or two rides from that area 3 if your super lucky

    the reason it gets snapped up on trip radar because some drivers get quests and they're trying to get short trips; also, the poor SOBs that rent from Hertz in their Tesla EVs are trying to finish the $200 promo for 240ish rides? Also, the guys who pay $600/week to rent from Hertz (fees,insurances,taxes...) or the guy who bought a new car thinking they'll pay it back with driving Uber *ouch! And finally, in CA, the tens of thousands of tech bros who got laid off and now need to do Uber 80hours/week to pay mortgage/insurances/creditcard/rents... you poor bastards. Add to the mix are the tens of thousands of migrants from the south who can now legally work/drive in CA with no background checks, and no English, the poor riders who will face Jose who just learn driving in the US a month ago that can't understand their concerns, no less dangerous than taxi, but then again cab drivers get pay more so they have more to lose. No hates, respect to all of us hard working drivers. These $3 rides are an insult (it's actually lowers in other parts of CA, $2.50ish in OC for example). I'm getting revenge on all the politicians in November, will vote against all incumbents that doesn't raised awareness or fight for gig workers.

    • @HarringJess
      @HarringJess 26 дней назад

      Yup, this makes sense! But also sometimes when the trip goes into radar after refusal, it takes awhile to ping back at us. I've signed off and 15mins later the same trip. Many local drivers are smart, we no longer do long trips. So the pax has to figure out another alternative. They hop on Lyft sometimes, so just because you see the small trip not come back, it's because the pax cancelled or swapped to the other app. I've also seen pax request XShare, noticed that no one accepts them, then they do UberX, no one accepts them, then they do UberPriority. One morning on a snowy day, I accidentally accepted an XShare, then I cancelled. The pax put through the request as an UberX, the fare went up along with the surge, and I got her. Pax are smart to know that drivers won't accept lower fares, so they have to be smart themselves

They are paying us under what we deserve and they hold the extra so they can collect interest or whatever they are doing. Why would a 5 mile ride make 5 $ but a 30 mile ride is for 18$? If you use their calculations that 18$ ride is really worth around 26$. They need to be called out for this.
