Happy birthday to Liz’beth, happy birthday to you, many happy returns from Melbourne, Australia. May you have a wonderful day hope you and your extended family stay safe and keep smiling and laughing 😝.
First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELIZABETH. Always a pleasure to see you with Steve in the shop. Thanks for starting my Saturday off like usual. Hope you both have a wonderful BIRTHDAY weekend. Steve gets a big bandsaw. Hope you are as lucky with your BIRTHDAY gift 🎁. Till next Saturday stay safe.
I have 3 different techniques for folding the blades. I worked in the butcher shop, at a local grocery, when I was in high school. Sweat equity goes into every piece of older equipment. A great saw, we had a smaller one in our High School Machine Shop back in the late '60s. Happy Birthday Elizabeth!!
Awesome. First half of the video when you were showing off your new toy, you sounded like a kid at Christmas. Giddy and smiling. You looked and sounded very happy. Glad Summer Santa brought you what you wanted.
These saws are what helped build the world . I keep lookin for one without involving a dealer . Found an old heavy metal wood saw . Took the direct drive motor apart and machined it to take a pully . Built the drive set up with 4 speed pulleys . Works great . No welder but I do ok making the blades up . Retired the wheels and put solid carbide guides on it . Nice shop you have there .
Nice bandsaw Steve. Happy Birthday Elizabeth. Nice seeing you two working together. Cleaning is the hardest job of rebuilding a machine. Good work, great content. Thanks, EM.
Steve, you had a bug job unloading that bandsaw but it looked like you had lots of good help. You used good judgement on ideas of how to unload it safely. Tell Elizobeth that I am wishing her the best Birthday ever. Thanks for the great videos.
Happy Birthday Elizabeth. aka the squirrel whisperer, Glad to see you are finally 29. I hope that your birthday brings you everything you wish along with the future. Steve I love seeing the footage sped up, it reminds me of the old silent movies. Very fun to watch. Congrads on the saw. They are a very good saw.
Steve, Wonderful saw. I find that hole punching gaskets like you demonstrated works better with wood end grain backing rather than cross grain. A chunk of 4x4 stood on end works nicely. The end grain backing provides a cleaner cut, is gentler on the punch cutting edge and doesn't punch out wood block divots.
You should have made AL a new pull lever for his trailer brakes. You have a awesome channel, I enjoy all your videos. Thanks for all the work you do for us viewers.
By golly, you have acquired a shop addition which will make your shop efforts much more productive for years. I have been familiar with Do-All saws for probably 60 years and realized early on what tremendous assets they are. Congratulations!
Had a DoAll brandsaw in both shops I have worked since 1960. The first had a War Board veteran complete but only sawed with hand pushstick pressure. The welder functioned if you crossed 2 screwdrivers across the missing switch quickly counting one, two! Moved to present employer in 1962 (a 25 person tool and die shop) who soon got a new one like yours except the deep throat/extra platten to replace their well used Delta. I welded many a blade for the company even more for employee home wood shop band saws (many requests was through a drilled hole in the wooden blank)!
Happy Birthday Elizabeth, I hope you have a awesome day. I had to pick up my band saw and carry it to the bottom of my garden where my workshop is but then it's a modern one and not as robust as yours
Thank you so much for making this video! I just bought a MP-20 Doall for $500 from a machine shop that was closing down. This was so helpful seeing it in action!
A Big Happy Birthday to you Elizabeth. That is a good quality saw with really great features I can tell you the things you can do with that saw, you're only limited by your imagination and saw capacity. I regret loosing the one I had many many years ago sometimes life choices make you make hard choices. I never replaced the one I had
Happy birthday 🎂 Elizabeth. Steve i worked 3 of these saws for 10 years in the extrusion die trade in Gloucester England. They are the best. Well done.
The main purpose for the blade welder, is so you can cut the blade, and loop it thruu your work, and then weld it to be able to cut interior features. Your description might be taken as it's only purpose is to make your own blades ... the former mentioned use is by far the main benefit. Happy Birthday Elizabeth! ...I like the saw Steve bought you!
..also taught in machining technical school to use it for fixing blades that had to many broken teeth or a snapped blade...it had a welder and annealer built in..
In my suggested videos I keep seeing your DoALL video thumbnail and the thought just struck me. Guess who is getting more comfortable in front of the camera, we are glad to see you adding your support to the channel.
Nice saw. I just picked up a 14" Rockwell wood and metal cutting saw so I can relate to the issues older saws can have. Mine were mostly guides and some minor drive issues. Have a good birthday Elizabeth.
Happy birthday Elizabeth, 🥂another great bit of workshop equipment Steve. Once again Al’s a great friend and help to your family Best regards Russell 🦘🇦🇺
That IS a beauty Steve! I just finished refurbing my ML. Converted it from 440V to 220 single, with a replacement motor. Making a new rip fence. Man, that hydraulic drive is really nice. Thanks for this video. -Tom
Noel, happy birthday!!! steve, that truelly is a very nice saw. im chomping at the bit to see the milling machine project, i know its gonna be worth watching. very worth watching. thank you for including that beautiful voice on the video!!! poppy's workshop says HI
Happy Birthday Elizabeth. May your day be a special one. Steve, great saw, I am sow envious of your shop. Looking forward to next year when I hope to start construction on our retirement home and my shop. All the best to you buddy.
That's exciting man, wish you many years of doing nothing but what you want all the time 😁. All I do is work work work. Glad I can but I look forward to the day I don't have to all the time. It will be awhile
@@SteveSummers It has been a long time coming and as you put it, a lot of work, work, and more work to get there. All the best to you and as always thanks very much for sharing your adventure.
thanks for the video , i’m a retired Woodworker and i have family in the Machine Shop Business i’ve always known about D All saws but didn’t know all of their features the CVT system is us super neat and i can see it being extremely handy to have for certainBusinesses and lines of work i love the Blade Welding and Grinding system built into the Unit but of course in my line of work we get by with something way similar and fortunately much less expensive and easier to move around
Steve for the coolant pump you can use Little Giant pond pump. They are 110-volt submergeable and will stand up to the coolant. Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!!
Happy Birthday Elizabeth! No longer have the saw but I have a welder for one somewhere in the back. After welding the blade the annealing step is very important, it has to be the right temperature and the right duration or the blade will break easily.
Happy Birthday Elizabeth! As Quinn of Blondihacks would say, it's very satisfying in watching the cleaning of your newly acquired DoAll saw. Thanks from West Michigan!
Have a most wonderful day on Monday Elizabeth. All the best of the best to you. We had a saw exactly like this one in Jr High. I was many times asked from others to weld blades. Great memories. LOL, I knew it wouldn't take long for you to fill all this new space you have created. I have never seen a shop that was big enough for all the stuff. George Carlin had a great one on us and our stuff. I have always liked when you get a new piece in you clean and inspect everything and never get excited when you find something amiss. You deal with it and move on. You must get a bunch of comfort in it knowing exactly what you have. Once again you have the fastest 46 min on the Tube my friend. Thanks eh !
A tip for future machinery moves: 200 litre polyethylene drums can be cut into wide strips to make excellent low friction skids (especially if you use one strip on top of another). These drums are the kind farm chemicals and food constituents are shipped in and are easy to find. The plastic is around 6 mm thick (0.25")
As always , great video Steve. Your a lucky man with a wife like Elizebeth and friends like Al. It speaks to your character sir. Happy birthday Elizebeth
I have a 12x16 version of that saw, absolutely love it. Also has the hydraulic ram but mine pulls a bicycle chain you wrap around the part. Also has a steering wheel you can use to turn the part while the ram pulls it into the blade. Variable speed from 50-1500fpm. Also the year built is part of the serial number, mine’s a 1945. Edit: Ha! Posted too soon, you covered the chain part. Also the grinder is open top and bottom so you can grind both sides of the blade without twisting it.
Happy birthday Elizabeth, wow.. nostalgia for me, we had this saw in our toolroom where i served my apprenticeship in 1969, best bit of kit, so vesatile, it with save you a ton of time on your projects, cheers from Oz 🎉👍😊
hI Steve cracking bit of equipment WOW!!!!! and Many Happy Returns Elizabeth, have a great birthday, Regards Mike and Laine. Claud and Snoodles, our Standard French Poodles, otherwise known as "The French Men"
Elizabeth Happy Birthday Fantasy seeing you working in the shop !! My wife has helped me in the shop for 40 years Thanks for the video Frank from FlecoTech in Walla Walla WA
Very Happy Birthday wishes to the lovely Elizabeth (or “Penblwyth Hapus iawn I ti” as we might say over here in l’i’ll ol’ Wales 🤪🤪) Have a wonderful day, and let’s not forget that behind every good man, there’s an even better woman. Errr.... yeah ... that’ll be YOU, Elizabeth.❤️❤️ We shouldn’t forget either, that we would not be blessed to receive any of this great You Tube content you put out week after week, without the help, encouragement and support of this lovely lady. Never aversed to mucking in and getting your hands dirty, either and ... Yes!!! ... we DID notice who did all the ‘hard yards’ on the ‘come-along’ when moving the awesome DoAll bandsaw into position in the shop!! To a wonderful family .... have an equally wonderful day.❤️❤️
The variable speed pulley system on it is basically the same system on a variable speed mill head. My Clausing 5912 lathe has the same type system. Infinitely adjustable speeds on the fly. Super handy. It is essentially a Reaves Drive system. Nice score Steve.
*Making a hardwood fence for the miter makes all the difference **MyBest.Tools** Tune the saw with a combination square. Adjust the laser so its in line.😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣See the photos.Every part in this saw is adjustable.😎😭*
Nice score on the saw. The blade welder is a great feature, I used to make all my blades when I worked in the shop. And Happy Birthday to Elizabeth.

Bit late but Happy Birthday Elizabeth, Steve you really know how to make other guys jealous you now have a great collection of equipment.
