My wife is Filipina and I totally know where your coming from. Being American we are not used to food like that. But once I finally tried it I Loved it. There really is nothing like it. I'm glad you tried.
Well said! So glad you can relate. Oh yeah…my son wants is every day now😂
Happy Thanksgiving! Wish we could have celebrated with you because we are so grateful for our friendship 🫶
So happy you finally got that LAYCHAAAAWN 😆
You guys are awesome. Can’t wait for more content collabs.
We used to eat turkey every thanksgiving when my Auntie a Filipina got married to my Uncle ( an American US Air force Engineer ) during the time when they are still living here in the Philippines at Clark Air Base before moving in the U.S. My Uncle baked the whole turkey stuffed with breading and of course there's always a cranberry sauce that goes perfectly with the turkey and they also baked a Pumpkin Pie. We even have a live turkey in our backyard during the days...
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃❤👍
ive never seen anyone eat Lechon this delicate in my life...
Lol🤣😂
Thank you for always taking us to your family adventures! You guys always make me feel like I'm part of the family. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Awww we love you my friend!!! So happy you enjoyed this lil vlog of ours. It was a special day indeed!❤️❤️❤️
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇸🇳🇸🇳🇸🇳That Lechon restaurant does not appreciate free advertising! My American-Mexican-Filipino granddaughter loves watching your vlogs with her grandparents! 😍
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! 🍁🦃
Yeah it was not a fun experience. But oh well. It was an awesome Thanksgiving! Blessed day in BGC🙏🇵🇭Thank you so much for the support fam! We love you guys!

STAY SAFE PO AND BE BLESSED. 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞
Same to you! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays my friend!❤️🫶🧡
@15:25: sorry to say, wolfgang puck's is different from wolfgang zwiener. the one in bonifacio highstreet is wolfgang's steakhouse by wolfgang zwiener.
it's also well known for amazing steaks though. & hopefully really good stuffed turkey.
Yes! They have amazing meats! 👌
why oh why #RicosLechon not allowing to vlog your delicious Lechon??? anyways Rico the owner of Rico's lechon was actually our customer in comedy bar way back 2015 and i already been in his place where all the ricos lechon was made, sir Rico is very generous and kind. I hope to try his lechon again when i visit my hometown which is CEBU😍 Next Month December ♥️♥️♥️
Cochi in BGC uptown, they have cochinillo, owner is local celebrity Marvin Agustin. You can try there.
Oh good to know!!! That’s close by! Nelvine and Knox will be SO HAPPY to hear this!!!!
The best lechon I’ve tried is Carcar in Carcar market (in Cebu). We hired a private car with driver to drive us over there. We ate the lechon in the market with Puso (rice). The lechon was delicious and the skin was soo crispy. I would highly recommend it.
House of lechon near ayala cebu is from carcar.
My new favorite family!! Great vlog! Everyone is such natural entertainers! Mia and Knox are very talented!
God bless your family!! The Philippines is a better place because of you guys…
Thank you for choosing to live in the Philippines!🙏🏻👏
Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Turkey, mash potatoes, gravy, green beans casserole, cornbread dressing and rice dressing
Yummy!!! You’re making me hungry and it’s not even Thanksgiving any more🤣😂
My favourite part is when Nelvin says you are always first. ❤️ And I noticed Knox voice has changed. 😍
Also, glad you didn’t go to that first restaurant. Their lechon are not the good. ;)
Happy thanksgiving guys! Gobble gobble! 🍗
Aww love that too!☺️Haha…yea, Knox has definitely hit a growth spurt. My baby boy is growing up🥹Either way, we had an awesome Thanksgiving!🙏Have a wonderful week my friend! Thanks for watching!!!❤️
Whatever you guys choose will be welcome. Lucky enough you guys, can really afford to buy that kind of expensive property. I hope me too. But I think it's really impossible for me. Hehehe . Very proud of your feed back of Pilipinos hospitality.
Happy Thanksgiving fambam.. Cheers to 💯K subscribers just in time to be thankful for. Good Job👍👍👍 now onwards to road to 200K eating that crunchy lechon wooohoooo 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭😋😋😋
Thank you Tina! We’re almost there! I can’t believe it! Ahhh 100k🤞Happy Holidays my friend!🎄
Hi MomDuty Goodevening.I am watching your Videos with your Families as of now & I already watched some of those Videos like the interview w/ Pia & Diana.the Travel to Nuvali laguna, the BGC Condo &: more as of now still watching.Happy New Year & Happy Staying on the Philippines.
That is awesome to hear! Wow!!! Thank you so much for taking the time!! 🙏🙏
Coming to Philippines in 2 weeks and this will be the first time for my kids, I’m planning to get them to eat lechon and document it. Definitely not dining in Rico if they don’t allow vlogging.
Because probably they’re just claiming they’re rico’s lechon from cebu. The best lechon to eat is CEBU CITY.
Oh yeah, don’t go there if you’re going to film. They were pretty strict. They didn’t even want us to film the conversation🙈But people have been recommending other good lechon places. Excited for your trip!!! You’ll be here for Christmas🎄👏🇵🇭
Oh yes🤦♀️
The kkkrrrruuuncchhy sound of the lechon hahaha... makes me drool! I hope you enjoyed your first lechon my friend.
I did! Haha. I think Nelvine and Knox’s mouths were watering as I was eating it🤪😂
Niu By Vikings buffet has the best whole roasted stuffed turkey. Your closest locations are High Street or SM malls. Not sure if turkey has really ever been that appealing to folks born in the Philippines. My Filipino wife really does not like the taste but has had to sit through 22 Thanksgiving's in the US. Happy Holidays and stay safe!
Happy thanks giving guys.enjoy and be safe always .gobless po
Happy Holidays my friend!!!!💕💕💕💕
I'm so glad you tried it Mom🙌🏽
Yeay!👏Boys are so happy I tried it too🤪
Enjoy it most of the Filipinos love Lechon ❤❤❤
#MomDuty
Thank you ate!!! Haha yes, my husband and my son really wanted me to try😜
Just saw this and a belated Thanksgiving to you guys. Canada celebrated ours last October..😊😂 Way to be patient and persistent about finding turkey, big Kudos to you guys. For awhile I thought Mom Duty will have her first Filipino ThNksgiving 😂 with lechon but I lived howbthebway she turned it right away by diverting it to the weather ...hehe 😊😂
Happy thanksgiving Ocampo family! You’re my favorite family on RUclips. Each one of you have equal moment in the vlogs which I really love watching. ❤❤❤❤
Wow! Thank you so much!!🥲🥹You just made our day! We appreciate you🙏
You guys got to take me there to have Lechon. Give me a date, and I will see you in a few months?
GP!! Come as soon as possible.lol. We miss you so much! Wish you were here during Christmas time🎄
As a non-American, I cant get exited.....but hey guys, a filo thanksgiving gotta be awesome
I totally understand and that’s completely fine!☺️🫶
Mom duty youno that thers no walmart in the pilipins but we landmark 😂
Haha!!!! That’s a good one!!!! I miss Target though 🎯🤪
Yay!! So happy you tried it ! I rarely eat it but when I do , I love it ! 😋 Happy Thanksgiving you guys 🦃
Nice!!! Yeah I’m glad I FINALLY tried it, especially in the Philippines where it’s so popular! I’ve been to a few luau’s and have never tried lechon.
Next time go visit Laloma QC, there are lots of Lechon restaurants there.
Oh yes! Many of you have been recommending Quezon City👌👌👌👌
Search for "Cochi by Marvin Agustin" a Philippine actor😊
Oh you’re the second person to mention Cochi. Going to go there. Nelvine and Knox are going to be so happy!!!!! Thank you for the reco!👍
You have to try the original lechon from talisay or carcar, lechon that is cooked from charcoal not from oven. I gurantee you its very2x delicious
In case you guys want a new thing to do in bgc, there will be a concert on Dec 2 in Metropolitan Museum (orchestra) for free. You just have to register then you can also roam around inside. It’s nice there. 😊
Oh thanks for the heads up!!! I must have my dates wrong. I thought that was next week🙈Ahhh there is so much to do in BGC! I LOVE IT!!!
@@MomDuty It’s next saturday! Great way to get out of the house without spending money for activity!
When I trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu, we were taught "fat is flavor". But it has to be hot because cold, congealed fat is yucky! I like a small amount of fat on the meat though it's hard to beat a good Wagyu steak with lots of marbling. BTW, making homemade mashed potatoes with tons of cream and butter is super easy. We did it every day for 6 weeks in culinary school - I can make them in my sleep now.
Thanksgiving celebration in the Philippines + turkey meal nahhh!
Whoohoo!🇵🇭
Yohooo ! I wish you and your family a "Happy Thanks Giving Day "! Thank you for a very interesting day in BGC.Takecare.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you too!❤️❤️❤️❤️
11:47 Oh you did the Kobe Bryant too haha I have that same yellow tshirt and all the yellow tshirts year after year. Im part of a non-profit that supports the Home walk. Cool to know we were in the same event 👍👍👍
No way! That is so cool! Wow we were all there over 10 years ago! Amazing. What an incredible non-profit to be a part of.
The lechon leftover can be cook to lechon paksiw! This is next level lechon meal.
Leftovers are the best!!!!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 I have 2 (non-monetized) RUclips vlogs with LECHON. My wife and I had the roasted suckling pig at the world’s oldest continuously operating restaurant, the BOTIN RESTAURANT in Madrid, Spain for which I rated their LECHON at 7/10.
And the very best tasting, the most flavorful, the crunchiest, the juiciest, the tenderest, “that met all of my expectations for a lechon” LECHON was at the ORCHIDS RESTAURANT in Waikiki, Hawaii. That LECHON was a 10/10.
If you love Lechon you should go to LaLoma in Quezon City lots of store in that particular area alone that sell whole Lechon or lechon per kilo.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Knox and Nelvine have been looking for lechon near BGC. I’ll have to go to Quezon City👍
@@MomDuty you guys should check that area out, that's why it was called the Lechon Capital because of that area alone they have dozens of restaurant that sell the famous Whole Lechon. Some of them brought their cooking style of Lechon from Cebu, others from Bulacan and other places.
So amazing family.... proud to be cabalen... God bless
Philippines may not be the best South East Asian food but when Filipinos recreate western dishes it's phenomenal ! It's like you travel to that place and eating there .
That's what you think. In the States, Filipino food is considered the best among Southeast Asian food, there's no contest.
@@denniszenanywhere most of my American friends say that our food is just ok compared to our neighbors and it's not our fault I mean Spain and American influence. I don't get offended even Anthony Bourdain mentioned that we are always been bypass not that our food isn't great but our neighbors are a lot better maybe because it's healthier and more complex flavor. I love our cuisine but majority thinks otherwise it's a hit and miss for foreigners.
@@OrganicLithiumFarm don’t think in terms of most of your American friends, they don’t know any better. Trust other Asians in America. My Chinese American friends love the coconut with jackfruit. They say we do better congee and shrimp rolls. Our sisig variations are good, Koreans love our kangkong, don’t think of just the fried food - the healthy options are amazing : the kare kare, pancit is great, we have more variety in our food than other southeast Asian countries. I’ve been in many Asian countries and we have just put our food down the most when in fact we have variety and healthy options as well. Look beyond the narrative and you will discover Filipino food in a whole new light.
Too many sample size na di nila type food natin and Asian friends as well they say it's too sweet or too bland . Again I'm not offended nothing wrong with that kung ayaw nila in general di mo Naman servean ang foreign ng toge, monggo, dinakdakan . Filipino food is good but you have to be selective about it otherwise ayaw ng karamihan not all. I'll leave it that this topic is subjective naman .
@@OrganicLithiumFarm You have to give an example of what exactly you say makes other Southeast asian food better than Filipino food because I often eat Indonesian, Thai and Malaysian food and I think we're still underrated. I myself have made Soto Ayam and it's like our misua too. Laksa is similar to our Batchoy. I would venture to say that the people who are criticizing Filipino food there are only exposed to the popular Filipino food, which yes, can be bland or too sweet. So in a sense your perspective is only based in PH, whereas in the US, Filipino food is celebrated like no other Southeast Asian food. The amount of great reviews in American media outlets is testament to this. So in a sense, your perspective there is PH based but in the Western world, Filipino food is actually great. You also have to consider the fact that in the Philippines, you don't have rich ingredients to make good Filipino food, thus the only food foreigners there are acquainted with are street food and cheaper ingredients. Your reality there is different. Filipino chefs in the States have an abundant resource of ingredients to experiment and make even the least popular food stand out. Look at this way. Filipinos hold different perceptions in the world. To Hongkongers, we're maids. To the US, we're heroes because most Filipinos are nurses. Perspective has geographic considerations -- and it's true with food.
Enjoy when spontaneous becomes more spontaneous. 😄
Yes yes yes! Gotta love being spontaneous👍
Love the honesty guys ❤
Oh thank you🙈Sometimes I don’t know how honest to be because I certainly don’t want to ever sound rude, which is hard to do🙈But we did have an amazing Thanksgiving, even if it was just the 4 of us. We feel blessed for sure🙏
Rico’s just missed a free advertising. It’s their loss🧐🤪😳
Such a bummer.
Happy thanksgiving! I keep waiting for more videos ❤
We’re coming! We’ve got so many to edit🤦♀️😜
I am so happy to hear you are trying things here too lol my partner doesn't eat it either yet! LOL love that you tried.
Yes! Gotta try it at least once right? Never know if I’m going to love it. That’s what we tell our kids to do too☺️ So funny your partner doesn’t eat it either🤪
Nearing 100k, goodluck guys👍
Fingers crossed! We’re so close!!! Thank you for the encouragement🙏🤞
There is Gatchalian's Lechon in the supermarket at SM Aura and Market2 Supermarkets
And it is available everyday
Omg we’re always at SM Aura!!! Thank you so much for letting me know!!!
And not too pricey
ZUBOCHON has one of the best lechons in town. Forget Rico's and I cannot believe they do not allow videotaping inside their restaurant, as if everything was a secret. And tbh, they're not the best either, so no loss.
Thanks a million for the recommendation!! 👏That’s very helpful! Yeah we were a bit disappointed especially since no one was in the restaurant. Oh well…onto the next awesome lechon restaurant!!!👏👏
Lechon Pabo or roasted turkey is more common in turkey raising provinces.
Very rare in Manila.
# 2 as you know, I do not eat fish - unless it is Cod or Halibut, but - my mother always ground up oysters
into the Turkey stuffing. I grew up eating it that way and we carried that on in our Thanksgiving meals. I will
not eat an Oyster in any other way. Glad you found your Turkey dinner.
Wow! That’s unique! Never heard of oysters in stuffing. My boys would love that! Maybe I’ll be brave enough to attempt to cook it next time.
My mom had the old meat grinder that you clamped to the table edge and cranked the handle as you fed the meat or what ever into the top. ( bet your mom had one too)@@MomDuty
Nice! I didn't know there were BGC restaurants offering Thanksgiving specials. This is good to know as I'll be all set for next year. Agreed not having mashed potatoes is a big loss, it would have been amazing if Punkin Pie was the desert.
Yeah. I heard there were some restaurants in BGC with Thanksgiving menu. But couldn’t find any info online. Try Wolfgang Puck next year. It’s a pre-order menu but it includes masked potatoes AND pumpkin pie👌👌👌
Ateh Rocio!! you ate turkey and lechon??!!😮😮 😂 Glad you guys were able to find a thanksgiving meal! Knoxs voice about to be deeper than mine soon 😂 i miss you guys so much! hope to see you all soon❤❤
I know! Can you believe it?! Double whammy in one day😜I was SO FULL😆Nelvine fed me too much.lol. Miss you too D! Love you guys! When are you coming to Philippines?🇵🇭
Knox you can be a model in the Philippines
One World Deli and Apartment 1B both have Turkey during Thanksgiving. They are both in Makati.
😲Taking a screenshot of this. Hope I remember it for next year. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!
That boy should be discovering actor. He remind me of the boy from Indiana Jones 🎬.
Haha the way you say ingat.. is the same way my non filipino friends say it
Really?! Lol🤦♀️😂 Ingat po! 👋
Ilove this family... ❤❤❤
We love you too!!!!!!😭😭😭
yes!!! i have waited for 9 days for your new blog!!
Awww you’re awesome!!! Thank you for being patient m. We’ve been trying to furnish this condo. It’s been taking us so much time. We really want to post the FULL tour next week already🤞

Hahahahaha. Lechon is invincible against the turkey.
You’re funny Mom! Although that you and the hubby are coconut, white inside and brown outside, I’m glad you’re going back to the roots of your folks! Do you guys speak fluent Tagalog?

Hello Dubai!!!! Thank you so much for being here my friend!❤️❤️

It's good to know that some restaurants there also have thanksgiving menu😄
You should try the alley by vikings. They have great selection of international and Filipino foods ❤
That restaurant don't want free advertising. Anyway just enjoy coz there are still lots of good restaurants to choose there in BGC. #Momduty

🇵🇭🇺🇸 I don't know what exactly is "Thanksgiving" generally in national Filipino language of the whole Philippines or more specifically in the more local and regional Tagalog language of the predominantly Tagalog-speaking and Tagalog people-dominated areas of Central and Southern Luzon, but here are some translations of "Thanksgiving" in Filipino and/or in Tagalog that I know of:
Pasalámat
Pasasalámat
Pagsasalámat
Pagpapasalámat
...with "Pasasalámat" being the most common or usual translation of "Thanksgiving" in Filipino and/or in Tagalog, which the latter is the de facto predominant basis, foundation, core or nucleus language of Filipino, among the other languages of and from the Philippines and other languages or foreign languages...
...or more literally, "Thanksgiving" may also be translated in or into Filipino and/or Tagalog as:
Pagbibigáy-salámat
Also, usually in greetings in Filipino and/or in Tagalog that is about a single-day holiday, celebration, feast, festivity, festival, occasion, event, observance, remembrance or whatnot else, the word "Áraw" (Day or Sun) or "Kaarawán" (Day/Date or Birthday/Date of Birth) is often included before the name of the single-day holiday, celebration, feast, festivity, festival, occasion, event, observance or remembrance, and after the word "Maligáyang" ("Maligáya" = "Happy/Merry/Joyful/Festive" in this context), so "Happy Thanksgiving" would be translated in or into Filipino and/or Tagalog as "Maligáyang Áraw/Kaarawán ng Pasasalámat", and it literally means "Happy Thanksgiving Day" or "Happy Day of Thanksgiving".
So, "Maligáyang Áraw ng Pasasalámat sa inyóng lahát na mga nagdidiríwang at nag-oobsérba nitó!" (Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you who's celebrating and observing it!)
...
👋🏼🇵🇭 😄 Buenas o hola, saludos y buenas tardes desde aqui na un barrio o barangay na Distrito Dos, Segundo Distrito o Costa Este, na Ciudad de Zamboanga, Filipinas!
(By the way, the greeting above is not in Spanish nor in the Philippines' Philippine Spanish or any other varieties, variants or dialects of Spanish worldwide but in Chavacano or Chabacano, a native, non-indigenous or non-autochthonous, ethnic or ethnolinguistic, local and regional language comprised of a collection or group of closely linguistically-related Philippine Spanish or Spanish-based creole varieties, variants or dialects in and from the Philippines and the only one of its kind in all of Asia, or more specifically in the more specific variety, variant or dialect of Chavacano de Zamboanga, Chavacano Zamboangueño or Zamboangueño Chavacano in generally Western Mindanao area or southwestern Philippines and more specifically from Zamboanga City, Philippines. It's my native and first language or mother tongue as a creole or creole-speaking native and ethnic or ethnolinguistic Zamboangueño from Zamboanga City, Philippines, before I studied and learned Filipino (and also some to most of Metro Manila's variety, variant or dialect of Tagalog through Filipino) and English (or more specifically Philippine English) mostly through traditional and formal, national public education and through national mass media and literature during my childhood to teenage years.)
Wow! Thank you for this history lesson. And you almost had me with the Spanish-sounding words. Had no idea there was a language called Chabacano. Sounds very Spanish. Appreciate you teaching us!

@@MomDuty No hay nada! You're welcome!
I don't think I gave you a history lesson but more of a language or language translation lesson, although I understand what you meant with it.
By the way, Chavacano or Chabacano is a language comprised of a collection or group of creole varieties, variants or dialects in the Philippines that are based on the Spanish language here in the Philippines during the Spanish or Hispanic imperial occupation and colonization as its largest or most significant vocabulary source, with most of its vocabulary such as most words, phrases, greetings and expressions are from the Spanish language of those times that developed and evolved over the centuries up to the present, that's why it contains a lot of Spanish, although the grammar, word orders, sentence structures, some spelling of words, and most of the pronunciations, intonations, accents, slangs and other vocabulary are not the same in Spanish and are not from Spanish only, making them different languages.
Among all of the more than a hundred to less than two hundred native and ethnic or ethnolinguistic languages of and from the Philippines, aside from the non-native Romance languages and other Western languages that were once or that are continously or still being spoken here in the Philippines, Chavacano or Chabacano contains the most Spanish words, or at least words that are from, derived from, developed from or evolved from Spanish.
Buenos dias!

GOOD JOB NEVE for finding your thanksgiving feast. Lechon is my favorite. The sauce is liver sauce. Yay for finally tasting it. I hate turkey; I’d rather have honey baked ham. Turkey is like dry chicken haha.
