Spot on with the suspension. That alone makes it hard for me to consider another bike to replace my Tiger 900. City riding is so much more comfortable with the extra suspension travel.

People would never guess riding in the city would warrant the need for a great suspension. City streets have become pretty bad as of late though. Watching a cruisers and baggers with 3 inches of travel hit potholes and bumps in front of you on group rides will really give you an appreciation for what you have in an ADV.
The Tiger 900 is near a Goldilocks size ADV, not too big or heavy, plenty of power, and available tech like cruise control and traction control. It's overlooked a lot. I met a guy on a country road a couple weeks ago with a 900 and he raved about his. There are are a ton of great bikes out there now, but I think ADVs are taking over because they do most things very well.
Stay safe out there on that Triumph and thank you for watching!

I like my triumph bobber just fine on rough roads lol

@@logangodofcandy A bobber? That'd be a Sportster tier rough ride on my road. I thought the same about all the bikes I've had too though until I tried an ADV. You know, Triumph makes the Scrambler 1200 X/XE version of your bobber, right? Good lookin' versions too, the Icon models in particular!
Thank you for watching and stay safe out there on that Triumph!

You nailed it very well. They are great for tall riders, but I have seen some pretty short women kick ass on them. I own a 2017 BMW 1200 GSA. It isn't necessarily better than a Pan America, just a little different. The boxer engine is simpler to change filters and valve adjustments are easy to get to. Shaft drive is a big plus and BMW replaces them for free every 36000 miles for the life of the motorcycle. The engine throws no heat on the legs, which is great on a hot day. The center of gravity is much lower due to the boxer configuration and the design of the fuel tank. The paralever, telelever suspension eliminates fork dive on fast stops. The stock seat is very comfortable and is multi adjustable in just a minute or 2. To be fair BMW has had over 24 years to refine their ADV line. I bought mine because it just plain fit me well and that is what is most important. Ride in good health, Brother.

I like BMWs boxer ADVs a lot. The shaft drive is the big one for me, it's so much easier to pull a plug to empty oil than clean and lubricate a chain, less messy too.
Valve clearance checks/adjustments are nice on them too, no tearing into the bike or unnecessary hand contortions needed. The Pan Am has automatically adjusted hydraulic valves, so no need for checks/adjustments.
Getting to the spark plugs on the Pan Am is the real pain; fuel tank, airbox, hoses, and connectors to fiddle with when you do it. An easy to reach air filter would be nice too. Like the spark plugs, everything needs to come off to get to it except the airbox, it's underneath the fuel tank.
Hopefully I make it to Fuel Cleveland this year, they almost always have a BMW rep there with bikes for test rides.
I've been itching to ride a new 1300 GS since they came out but finding a dealer near me (the closest is 100 miles away) is the issue.
Even though it's cold, enjoy that 1200 GSA! Stay safe out there and thank you for watching!

    A few comments.
First that pipe gives your Pan Am a completely new sound and personality. A good one.
May motivate me to do something with mine.
Second I agree with everything you have to say in regard to why an ADV bike makes so much sense.
They do everything very well and are so comfortable.
I too havecowned and ridden many different types and makes of motorcycles.
I can honestly say that my PA is one of the very best bikes I have ever ridden.
Anyway A very Merry Christmas to you and my fellow subscibers to your videos.
    Peace and Love

Merry Christmas to you too! The Stealth exhaust makes a huge difference. The Pan Am kind of needs it because without it, the sound is pedestrian at best. I was determined to have a Stealth exhaust and was willing to wait and it was well worth it.
I don't think I've met anyone who's tried an ADV and not loved it right away. I tried an 2021 Africa Twin 1st and was impressed so much that I almost bought one. The Pan Am just impressed me more, the Hp/Tq and suspension were really top tier. I've yet to ride a bike I thought was better but I haven't ridden a BMW 1300 GS yet. I can't imagine it could be much better though, but I'd still like to test one out.
Thank you for watching and stay safe out there!

Agree with everything you said...oh, and Yam was gifted the bike if if remember correctly and is now a convert! LOL
I too am impressed with your exhaust and will be upgrading to the Stealth one day, too many other irons in the fire money-wise for me to pop for a new exhaust right now. Peace!

Free? I must have missed that part, oh man. If only a manufacturer would gift me a bike, especially Aprilia as the Tuareg was high on my list (valve service/check intervals every 12K miles is all that stayed my hand).
Waiting for an exhaust is absolutely fine, I waited over a year after I got my Pan Am for Stealth to put one out. Then, I even volunteered to be a test monkey for fitment!
I really wanted a Stealth exhaust, the Street Sweeper/Baby Waker and the pie-cut style just does it for me. It's easily worth the wait and is the best Pan Am exhaust I've heard in person IMHO.
Stay safe out there and thank you for watching!

Did you have a litany of problems with your bike or has it been smooth sailing so far?

    • @Chase_N
      @Chase_N  19 дней назад

My only issues happened the first 2 weeks, number 1 was due to the bike sitting in a warehouse for over 6 months untendered.
1- Bad battery, replaced by dealer for free under warranty.
2- Melted radiator hose, it was too close to the front header, also replaced by the dealer free under warranty. It had more of an air gap after. I then used a DEI (Design Engineering Inc) Cool Tube hose cover to ensure it never happened again. It was GTG, but I wanted to be sure.
I've since replaced the battery myself with a larger capacity model from Drag Specialties but that was me just being OCD like with the hose cover. Still working fine, I again just wanted to be sure.
Other than that, all cosmetic. Risers, caged saddlebags, windscreen, and a skid plate.
It's been smooth sailing since, oil changes, filters, etc. Getting all the BCM/ECM updates helps a lot. I hope I've helped, thank you for watching, and stay safe out there!
