      @@IslandSimPilot I have been fooling around with Airshow Assistant and the new version allows for 7 wingmen for a total of 8 aircraft plus smoke and she ran really smoothly. The previous release caused a couple of 1 to 3 second pauses especially on approach. Not this one, I threw the book at it and she ran wonderfully. I think they are close to the release. Thanks again for all your deep diving and research. 👍

    Let me also take this opportunity to say thank you for your excellent channel, helping flght sim enthusiasts within MSFS improve our experience. I currently use Process Lasso, and Auto FPS. I use DLSS with DX11. I am using Nvidia driver 546.65 which is very stable for me. Not sure if updating drivers will bring anything new. Using DSR factors in the Nvidia control panel, DSR factors 1.78x, DL 2.25x DL, and most settings as per your past videos, (very helpful I must say !). I tried DX12 beta, yes still stuck in "beta ! " in the sim, not sure when it will ever be updated, but that is another topic for discussion. I find DX11 to be good, although DX12 beta may be better with DLSS ? . I do not get too much bluriness to be honest with DLSS. Just a slight bluriness as you increase altitude in a flight as the numbers pass by on the PFD panel. Process Lasso and MSFS2020_Auto FPS are very helpful in my experience. But the micro stutters or stutter singular still prevail in some or many of the MSFS airports, and surrouding countryside as you progress from one" tile "of countryside to the next, just at the arrival to the airport, usually when the sim has to add the level of ground detail, surrounding the airport, houses and trees etc or city scapes. MSFS _Auto FPS can deal with that to a point, but cannot eliminate it completely all of the time. Its something we have to live with I guess in this sim for MSFS 2020. Its not perfect. Of course I could just adjust my MSFS settings to all high, some low and very few Ultra, but that does take away the visuals and becomes detrimental to immersion. But here we are, awaiting MSFS 2024, which I hope will reduce some of the mentioned performance issues in MSFS 2024. Maybe late 2024 early 2025 the launch of the RTX 50 series cards, are upon us, yes that never ending trend of hardware updates ! 5080 first then 5090. But at huge price point, not for the faint hearted !. Thank you again and good luck with your channel. Much appreciated.

      The stutters when changing loading areas is much better now that I disabled the FS rolling cache. My connection is good enough for loading without the cache. After all these years I think my stutters are solved. I gave up DX12 since my VRAM is 8GB and it consumes much more than DX11.

    • @ITMann
      @ITMann 4 месяца назад

      @@wingspanadventures Thank you for your reply. Yes I do not use rolling cache. Similarily my connection is good. Really my sim stutters are very few in flight. I make sure to limit my FPS to 33 FPS in the Nvidia control panel. Just in some areas where I fly approaching that sim "tile" before landing, or a sim "tile" with extended houses, farms, countryside and object level of detail etc. I have literally spent weeks of testing with different addons and settings. I am pretty close, now, Process Lasso and MSFS 2020_Auto FPS do help. Yes I agree DX12 hogs VRAM. Just wish DX12 it would move on from beta. Its a never ending adjustment. Just trying to eliminate the micro stutter completely. Not sure if I can. Onwards and upwards as they say. Thank you.

    • @wingspanadventures
      @wingspanadventures 4 месяца назад

      @@ITMann I made a Riva Tuner overlay exclusively for FS2020 where I can see most of the reasons for stutters. If VRAM is close to full it will start degrade performance, thats why DX11. Take in consideration that I have a 3070 running DSR 2.25 and DLAA, so I render 4K and present in 1440p. I record using Nvidia shadowplay in 4K and even so can fly without many problems. Using DLSS 3.7 too. My setup in general is just like the poster of the video, with some minor differences. Rebar on does not make difference, frame gen mod is good only to incerease the numbers of fps but not stability or and I hate the side results it creates so using without it with fps between 30 and 50 fps.

    • @ITMann
      @ITMann 4 месяца назад +1

      @@wingspanadventures Thank you again for your reply. You are correct about VRAM and keeping its limit in check. I check my system diagnostics with HWiNFO. I have an ultrawide monitor 3440x1440. My GPU is ageing !! RTX2080Ti. Gaming model with a slight overclock. I love this GPU. It still punches for a 6 year old GPU. However times they are a changing !, need to think about a hardware upgrade in the near future, both for CPU and GPU. Anyway, I also render to 4k resolution in MSFS settings. DLSS is good for me and gives me good visuals at that resolution. Yes DX11 is best. As I said before my in flight sim is mostly buttery smooth, capping my FPS and always keeping in check any background services running on my system etc. Using developer mode in MSFS 2020 can provide a visual guide to FPS, and also to try and balance out GPU and CPU, so that neither are chasing each other, or playing catch up. I dont like the frame gen mod, as too many unusual side effects or artefacts. Its all a work in progress for me at this time. But enjoyable as some better results can be achieved. But MSFS 2020 is reaching its code limit, addons are becoming visually stunning, sim updates are forever 1 step forward 2 steps back. There will be a time to call it a day for my present hardware. Thank you.

    Is there not a time for people with either an RTX 20 series or even 30 series, hardware, although powerful but now over 6 years old (RTX 20 series anyway) that these new drivers are superfluous and only a placebo effect?.. I just find it strange. What can a 5 series driver offer anything beneficial to a 20 series RTX card ?. Obviously there may be many improvements for a 40 series and 30 series perhaps, but a 20 series ?. Just curious for those GPU owners. I get asked this question a lot by my fellow sim colleagues, some of whom do not have a 40 series GPU, and always asking me if I should update my drivers. I usually tell them that every one's system is different to a point, but say "if it aint broke dont fix it " addage. If there sim experience is smooth on their current driver, then updating may not offer that "magical" smoothness we crave for. Some new drivers are detrimental rather than beneficial.

      I'm on an RTX 2060 6GB OC, and it's still a very viable GPU for 2K. Currently on 552.22 (previous release) which seems stable, so I might skip this one.
      You should keep up to date, as they do fix bugs relevant to the older GPU's, 552.22 being a case in point as one of the issues fixed with that was a long standing bug:
      Fixed General Bugs
      GeForce GTX 10/RTX 20 series: PC may randomly freeze when Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling and NVIDIA SLI are both enabled [4009884]
      There can also be issues with the new driver releases though as well, so you might need to adjust NVidia Control Panel settings, Application/Game settings, and Windows systems settings. I was having an issue with my PC freezing a few minutes after closing Starfield or ACC, both different game engines, but I think I've finally resolved it finally through a combination of settings changed. A lot of people experience this one, and it seems related to GPU and power states. This is a separate freeze issue from the one fixed in the above reference.
      Summary: No, it's not a placebo to update to latest settings. RTX 2060 is a real workhorse. Still waiting for 4070* prices to drop before upgrading, they are still ridiculously overpriced.
