I'm not done with the episode but had to stop to tell you my jaw literally dropped when you showed the Lambstrings yarn club!! So so perfect for you!!
PS - love the look without the eyeliner. Just as beautiful! I'm so glad you got to unwind in CA last week. :)
Enjoy your break! Do make time for yourself; everyone will still be here when you get back. :) The end-of-year burnout is real. I teach private piano lesson in the evenings, and between the back-to-back holiday music to help prep them for (Halloween and then straight to getting Christmas music ready in time), and rehersals, by the time their end-of-year recital hits...I'm wiped out. I'm a little bit of a glutton and will take 3 weeks off in the Winter to recharge. It's essential that you take some away from work so that you don't come to dread the things you used to do.
A little late to the party, but I love using mini skeins for any of the following: contrasting brims on hats, contrasting cuffs on mittens, to make some pompoms, heels/toes/cuffs for socks (of course!), striped hats, scrappy socks, & scrappy blankets. As long as you don't mind weaving in ends, you can use 20g minis to add some interest to any project you can think of 😊
I really love the idea of a make along. I tend to think I will knit certain things then get taken in by what is currently being put out as a pattern. Have a hard time finishing things since I feel like I'm always knitting samples so limiting the knitting to certain patterns seems like a reasonable goal.
Enjoy ur trip to Tahoe! Vlog when it’s fun for you! Dennis’s sweater is flying off ur needles! Loving ur socks and will have to make that pattern. Ur Ingalls sweater is beautiful! I want to make one. (Hopefully I can grab some of ur yarn in an update) Lovely podcast as always! 💕
Oh, how I understand being freaked out by a doctor visit! I hate to go even for a routine checkup, I'm always stressed out about it.
It's amazing how replacing the yarn by yarn that you enjoy working with speeds up the process of knitting! Denis's sweater is flying off your needles! :O
The Hazelnut Socks look lovely
omg..it's ridiculous. Even when the doctor won't be able to give results that day. My heart palpitates so much, she always insist on giving me an EKG ... which doesn't really help! 😂🙄 Thanks Magdalena!! Hope you're well 💖xx
@@Voolenvine Hah, I'm usually getting dizzy when they take my blood and also I have no appetite before the visit. You're not alone! 😘😘😘
Friend: Hey can you knit/crochet me a “....”. Me: Sure, I can do that. (4 years later I’m still not done).
This is the reason I don’t make stuff for people anymore when they ask or for money. It stresses me out and makes me not want to do it.
Thank you for keeping me company while I try to learn hot to spin. Since it's difficult to find Yarn related info where I come from internet is a great place to find it. I really enjoy learning about everyday life in the USA and hope that you have a great time in Tahoe
I love all the pattern you posted for the Make Nine challenge! Vertices Unite will definitely be in mine, I’ve been dreaming of knitting it for months and I finally got the yarn for it!
Tahoe is so fun and beautiful this time of year! I’m not sure which part of the lake you’ll be on, but if you have a chance to go to Truckee, do it! And visit Atelier while you’re there. It’s a very sweet craft/yarn shop :)
Ahhh that's amazing, your list for the Make Nine Challenge is so similar to my current queue/planned knits :D I'm currently working on the Arboreal by Jennifer St... *checks surname spelling* Steingass (for some reason I always think it's a longer surname than that!) and all of her patterns are just so delicious looking!
I really fancy trying the Make Nine challenge too! I might even *gasp* venture into sewing again. I've never done much, and I'm terrified of stretchy fabrics, but I really want to make a Coco dress by Tilly and the Buttons! (Actually, I want to make a million of them, it looks so perfect)
You provide so much juicy inspiration, I may just have to dust off the camera too to document all this fun stuff ;)
Have fun in Tahoe; you're being very wise to take time and slow down when your body and mind tells you to. You're the most important resource to your business, so you have to be in top shape! Lots of love to you and D.
And YASSS! Dust off the camera! I really miss your videos, Verro!! (no pressure 😘) But you do it so well and professionally. I seriously think you could rock your own "Lifestyles of the Knit and Fiberlicious" TV series 😆
"Most important resource to my business" ... so very true!! Thanks for the reminder 💖💖💖
I always suggest teaching people to knit when they ask for things, but if I randomly decide to make a thing I can usually get it done quickly😀 Have a great, safe trip.
I like Friday updates better. But 5pm est cuts out the western US since it is in the middle of the work day. I'm a bit behind and stupid instagram lag, didn't know the update was today and missed out trying for the Strange Brew. That's my two cents. Hope you've been enjoying Tahoe, since they finally got some snow for you.
As always a pleasure to watch your well formulated and pretty and funnily endearing ramblings.
Thank you so much, Ernalise! 💖
Ah, lucky you! As a former native of the CA Bay Area, I spent a fair amount of time in Tahoe (we had a summer cabin in the Desolation Wilderness, and I used to ski at Heavenly (aptly named) in the winter)...so beautiful and a great place to chill (haha pun intended). Enjoy!
I live near Tahoe, it is a beautiful place!
I never manage to get on the challenges in a timely manner, but because you talked about it, I am totally inspired to plan it and make nine in 2019! 🙌
Renee Callahan same!!! I want to do that too!! What do you have in mind for making next year??😊
Yay! And I'm completely the same way. I usually avoid make-a-longs and such, but this one seems so fun (and the FOMO would be real 😂) ... which is why I've decided not to have a "definitive 9" ... just a virtual grab bag of projects. If I finish nine of them, great! If not, no biggie.
😆🖤😆 I'm so glad you like the Krampus set! Thank you for your kind words and bell shaking 😅 You're the bestest! Hope you have fun on vaca!
😆💖💖💖
saw that origianl hus-beast sweater in Elli's vlogmas podcast. so funny I knew exactly what it was before she said it!
That Krampus set is beautiful!
Loved this week’s episode!!! And I’m so glad that you are making time for you!! Very wise 😊. I can’t wait to see what kind of knit alongs will start next year!! Also, what is your progress keeper on the new husbeast sweater??❤️
I am in love with your project bags! Did you happen to use a pattern?
Your "Ingalls"/Kaitlin Hunter sweater is coming along nicely! :-)
Ann Kathy thank you Ann! 💖
I probably have already mentioned, but I just LOVE your Ghastlies bag! I have a few small drawstring ones. Would love to have a large bag like yours! So much fun!
Thank you!! It's such a fun print :D
Oh I hope you love Tahoe, it's definitely a different world from New York City ;)
I bought the same Krampus sock set also!
I freaking LOVE the sweater you're wearing oh my god! where did you get it?
Daily videos, even if short ones, are really hard to keep up with. Unless you are happy to do nothing but make videos. And some people are. But they are not people who cook or craft or have any actual hobbies. I have been trying to make 3 videos a week regularly for my channel, and even with that, I feel like I'm constantly doing videos. I like videos, but I have projects I want to work on and a real life I have to maintain. So I can relate the needing a day off thing. My dream is to take off the week between Christmas and New Years and just craft and catch up my personal life. But then it's hell to pay on the content uploads. Still, I need some sewing and uninterrupted knitting time. 🙃
I agree! Making videos can be so much fun, but it definitely takes away from a lot of making time. I hope you find some Christmas downtime to enjoy!
I love your lipstick! What is it?
Check out Himmel Haus in Tahoe if you are looking for some delicious German eats... and beer!
Ooh! Thanks for the rec. Love German food!!
You take good care of yourself! Xo.
Will do, Kristen. Thank you! 💖
Love the project bag thank you made...is the bag or pattern available for purchase???
Thanks so much, Stephanie! Regrettably, I don't sell project bags. I usually only make them for friends and giveaways. :)
Recharge, enjoy christmas and take care of yourself. It's good to be off social media every now and again, even as amazing as it is to connect with all the lovely people
Can you share where you got the fabric for the project bag? I bought a bag made out of it about two years ago (not as nice as yours) I was told it was discontinued.
Fabric.com! :D
I hope you'll be able to vary the time of your Friday update a little bit... 5 pm is when i am in the car commuting. I haven't been able to catch an update since you moved away from Friday evening. Friday earlier in the day would work, too... or later. Just occasionally?
I'm sorry that time does't work for you, wheeltrish ... 5pm ET is not ideal for everyone. For now I need to stick to that time. I hope you'll understand and are able to find another way of making an update ... 💕
I think more ppl should do vlogmas or vlogtober once a week instead of the pressure of everyday. Or maybe twice a week or whatever.
Though it's a fun challenge to do daily, I agree! And from a viewer's perspective, it's a little overwhelming trying to keep up with all my favorite vloggers on a daily basis.
Instawebs sounds like a thing! Ha ha!
New hashtag? #Instawebs 😂
Aww happy Hanukkah!! Are you/Dennis Jewish?
Dora Kolin Dennis is Jewish, and I was raised celebrating Christmas. Now I get to celebrate both! ☺️
