'Quiet' changed my life... I totally did not understand my introversion before reading this book! So many insights for me :)
I just LOVe the Zweig and those colours. They are so complementary!!!!!!!!!!! the fleck looks a greyish colour with melts well with the black. Just gorgeous.
Hello, just wanted to say I have the Stunning Stitch Markers as well in the siler color. Absolutely love them. :)
That first sweater, I got to say, It Looks Mauvulous!!😀
I am listening to Clockwork Angel too! It is an interesting story. I am about 1/3 of the way through. I think you will like it😊 Love your yoked sweaters!
I love your color combo for your Zweig! Hands down one of the most fun knits
You have put lots of hard gone into this gorgeous sweater. I love the colour choices.
Your yoked sweaters are so gorgeous. I would love to hear you talk about alternating skeins another time.
Thanks so much, Mary. I will! :D
I love to see you going out of your comfort zone with colors. They look very nice on you! My goal this year is to do color work. I'm nervous but watching your progress makes me want to try.
Your sweater progress is inspiring!!
Watched this while knitting your gorgeous half moon Oracle shawl!!! It’s looking great! I’m using pinks browns and of course mauves
We're going to be Zweig buddies!! I'm so desperate to get the body of mine done this weekend :D I can't wait to wear it!! Loving the shawl you're knitting too. Glad that yarn came in use for you! Can't wait to hang out with you again in March xxx
Zweig pullover is so pretty in your colourways. I hope you had a wonderful Birthday
You’ve inspired me to cast on Zweig... have the pattern and now must stash dive!!🧡
We share a birthday!! Happy birthday to both of us (and the old Queen of The Netherlands) for next week!!
The sweaters are gorgeous and really coming along :)
The clockwork series was really enjoyable! She has a more modern series as well (and another started) that I enjoyed.
Thanks Rhonda! I hear all of her books are great :D
Happy birthday Kristen and enjoy ur day
Oh wow! Your Zweig is stunning! I'm adding that to my queue! I'd love to know your method of alternating skeins.
I love your yarn, yarn talk and sewing but I also tend to love your book/tv recommendations when I check them out. You mentioned Quiet and that was a real eye-opener for me. I'm very extroverted and my husband is very introverted. Reading that gave me such a brilliant insight into introversion!
So so beautiful!
Ooo I totally agree with you about singles on wooden needles. Just like butter is right. Why is that, I wonder. 🤔. Anyway, I’m loving your top. That color kills on you.
I got some of ur yarn I love it thanks for all ur great job
Fantastic knitting!!...:)
Love your Yokes. You sure are living up to the Year of the Garment. So you did by the Baby Yak oh la la I saw the Junko (sp) Cowl kit in your hands, I thought you took that. I wanted that for myself but I was good and walked away with nothing even though she had the Chunky Yak on sale. I swear I have to be so restrained. Other than that again so nice to meet you and Ellie. Great Podcast as always.
So great meeting YOU, Anderea!! It was so hard *not* to walk away with yarn...it's all so preeeettttyyy!!!
Voolenvine oh yes my apologies Happy Birthday lovely lady. 💗
Voolenvine and yes hard to restrain but I did it. I had to as I have way too much stash. I think though I have been eyeing Holst yarn though between you and Ellie as I loved her Lopi sweater I am close. 😋
i need to read "quiet"! i have had it on my kindle for almost 6 years now. i started it but i love fiction so much so it fell by the wayside pretty quickly!
The Myak yarn looks very rich and vintage. I saw a photo of a relative in a sweater from the 50's or 60's
YOU are awesome! I love your new sewing patterns. Flannel will be great for a dress! Just make sure you line it so that it doesn't cling to your leggings or tights ;)
Thanks Lady! Lining for sure! I usually always wear a slip under dresses anyway, for that reason. lol
One day soon I hope that you will have enamel pins for your Brand for sale for us to collect. That would be sooooo super.
I'm workin' on it 😘
Hi!!! Greetings from Honduras! Do you have a tutorial teaching how to knit a yoke? It looks great!
All of the Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Claire are so good. After you finish the Clockwork series, you should check out the Mortal Instruments (City of Bones is the first book) and the Dark Artifices after that. They are all in the same world, but different people and stories.
Have a wonderful birthday!
Hello my dear! So nice to see you again! I keep thinking that myak yarn would make a lovely cropped sweater or cardigan... my thoughts!!!
Great idea, Selma!! Just did a little pattern hunting, and I think the yarn wants to become a Bordeaux pullover 😻 www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bordeaux-pullover
cool!! nice texture on that one
I will be there and will DEFINITELLY SAY HI :)
Yay! It'll be so great to meet you, Barbara! :D
very beautiful.
Oh yes! I thought Quiet was an excellent book for both introvert and extroverts!
I listened to "Court of Thorns and Roses" last week and loved it. You should consider going on Goodreads.com because it is an excellent way to keep track of the books you want to read and what you have read.
So glad you enjoyed it, Joyce! And yep - I'm on Goodreads as Voolenvine 😉
My birthday is Jan 31st too!
Your garment knits are beautiful Kristen! As you are all about the colourwork now - I had a question: I prefer, like you, to hold both yarns for stranded knitting in my left hand (continental) - this as worked OK for me, and is more even than one in each hand... but now that I am knitting colourwork with "proper" non-superwash, sticky yarns (like the 2ply jumperweight you are using) I find tensioning the two strands really tricky... the strands of each colour stick to each other while feeding through my fingers, and so when I knit stitches in one - the other strand doesn't remain tensioned but rather comes "along" with it and so when I then need to knit from THAT colour, the yarn is loose and not tensioned... "if that makes any sense" ;-) - I just wondered if you had this too, and if you had any tips? M. xx
Believe it or not, I actually reverted back to knitting colorwork holding the yarn in both hands. 🤣 My tension is just more even when I knit that way. 🤷🏻♀️
But I totally know what you mean! When you're knitting with both strands on your left hand, are you tensioning the colors on different fingers? When I knit this way, I have one color tensioned over both my index and middle finger, and the dominant color tensioned only over my index finger. This should help prevent the two strands from "inter-mingling" 😉
Do you trace your patterns? Or just use the brown tissue paper that comes in the envelope? Tracing seems to be all the rage, but feels like just an extra barrier to sewing...
I agree. Let's get to the sewing already!! 😂 With "Big 5" patterns I just cut out the brown tissue paper. If the pattern is from a book, I do trace it.
You are so talented. Your knitting is beautiful.
Thank you so much ☺️ 💕💕💕💕
I absolutely love your Rhysand and Feyre colourways
I have!! Definitely a great read. Poor Aelin, in the last book!! 😱
I know ! Such a big cliffclanger, I can't wait to find out what happens!
Kristin have you read the novels by Katherine Howe? "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane"?
I have not ... but I"ll be sure to check them out. Thanks for the rec!!
I just found this book at a goodwill. I thought the title looked familiar! I had read your comment earlier! Lol 😂 it must have stuck in my head!
It is indeed one of my very favorite books to read
Oh no the video is saying it’s private
I'm not sure why that is ... It's listed as "Public" on my end. RUclips has been behaving a little weird, today. Is anyone else experiencing issues?
Voolenvine I’m watching it right now, no issues.
Thanks for the feedback, Tara! I'm guessing it's a YT issue.
Yep - I'm guessing RUclips...I just came back from an errand and NOW the resolution is back to normal. Yay!
YAY!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Small /knit/pick but it's C3PO not 3CPO
