    You and Dr. Ekberg just validated almost everything I combine in the smoothie that I break my fast with. Yay!
    Coconut milk base. Unsweetened
    Vanilla veggie protein
    1/2 cup frozen steamed spinach
    a whole avocado
    yogurt
    non-fortified nutritional yeast
    and half a grannie apple for flavor. And it tastes great!

    I break my fast with eggs everyday and eat eggs during the day. When I go on my trip I always carry a couple boiled eggs with me. Easy, convenient and save me money ànd time from stopping at in out burger.

    Very good information. Breaking my prolonged fasts with eggs has always been a favorite of mine for YEARS. Also, you noted you have been fasting for a long time. Just by the way you look I can tell :)

    I had spent so many years avoiding fat in my yogurt I didn't realize how badly my stomach would take to full fat dairy products. Luckily there are other greek yogurts that are low sugar ,low carb, high protein. I love my yogurt with a tbsp of Ghirradelli 100% unsweetened cocoa powder, one spoonful of confectioners Swerve and 1-2 tablespoons of almond butter made with roasted almonds and salt, little bit of vanilla bean paste. Amazing, delicious and filling, plus I can have it anytime during my eating window. I love eggs, but some days I can't even look at another egg! Also, I am working on reversing my insulin resistance, and this combination does not spike my blood sugar numbers.

      If you're not calorie-restricting while doing IF, rather eating adequate amounts of well-balanced real food to fuel your day, you won't need to change anything when you reach your goals. Remember IF isn't eating less food, it's eating food less often. :)

    I love prolonged fast for about 5 days once a month, never happy to come back to eating, even when food is much more delicious, since I always feel soo good not eating, which is the reason why I got into low carbohydrate lifestyle and performance. I find breaking my fast with a rice cake a good option for that insulin spike puff, and if it was after the gym or some excercise, a bit of fruit as well, before I chug 4 egg yolks raw after, I start to eat normally the second day, salad, meat you name it, but only if my fast was 72hrs+

    this was really cool thanks! i just broke a 120hr fast with bone broth then 30 mins later eggs scrambled in olive oil, a small piece of organic beef liver, some raw sauerkraut and then chased that meal 20 mins later with grass-fed whey mixed in 10oz of raw milk kefir and I feel fucking fantastic

    My go to is a hard boiled egg (1 or 2) with a side of sauerkraut and about a tablespoon on top of that a sauerkraut chia seeds in a glass of water

    Great information that has helped me a ton in my IF journey. One question: why use coconut milk if you are not lactose intolerant? Is it better/healthier than actual raw milk? Thanks for so much nutritional gold!!!

      Dairy can cause inflammation regardless of if you are/are not intolerant, when breaking a fast it's best to be avoided, yoghurt is deafferented because it's fermented.

    Wow I do intermittent fasting but am doing a 3 day. I also workout after my 16 hours after a meal. You said you get bone shrinking so I'm wondering will my working out will increase. I notice its kind of easy I'm on day 2 and not so bad. Just a little lack of energy and not a real big headache cause I usually drink coffee. Good info much appreciation.

    1: MCT oil or Avocado oil
    2: Yogurt with live bacteria
    3: Lean protein
    Keep them hours apart for the 1st day then the next day you can eat a normal meal just don't over eat or you will gain all your weight back.

    Always informative!! Autumn is hemp seeds good to eat? I usually do a mix of Chia seeds, hemp seeds and flaxseeds. Is that a good combination with yogurt? Thank you 😊 ❤️❤️❤️

      Hi Melissa! Hemp seeds do contain protein, although you're more likely to get *more* protein from your yogurt than from the hemp seeds. But hemp seeds and flax seeds are great sources of high quality fat!

    Breaking my 3 day fast today. First time doing it. Do I have to refeed slowly? How many days do I have to watch my diet when coming back from a fast? Can I eat whatever on the night of the second day?

      I mean, I'm biased, but I'm on the smoothie train too 😂 Eggs for break-fast are more of a weekend thing for me. But I'll also have them as a quick protein at lunch!

    I love your keto oatmeal idea... used PB, cinnamon, and clove for my version. I've just gotten back to egg bites (in my case green eggs and ham) but im gonna use duck eggs since thats all that i have (no egg allergies here just all nuts and fish fish in the house) i used spinach to make eggs green and shove it and bacon in blender

      I'[m not Autumn, but I'd say of course. :) But make sure you're getting enough i.e. it's a decent-sized salad with a variety of ingredients, and that the portion of protein and fat is enough.

    I am on day 5 of a water fast. I get hungry for about an hour a dsy. I woke up 2 hours ago. Not a bit hungry. Should i be hungry or worried. I started at 101kgs in April I am now 84 still overweight for my 5ft 8 height. I feel great but do wonder why im not feeling hungry.

    I have been doing intermittent fasting first 16/8 a few months 18/6, OMAD and started this week alternate day fasting BUT after I break my fast got diarrhea! This never happened before with the other fastings! I always break my fast with eggs and avocado or blueberry protein shake. Is anything I can eat to prevent this?

      What are you breaking those prolonged fasts with? Could be to hard on your stomach although you may not be eating anything crazy. Try taking BETAINE HCL it’s to help with the bile/ acid in your stomach. 🤔 hope this helps

      This is one the few comments I found that's actually concerned about her. There's no way she can continue to rely on intermittent fasting when she has no fat no burn. It's alarming and I'm sensing some disordered eating with this channel. It's sad to see because YT keeps recommending me this.

    From what I've always known, it is quite bad to mix any substantial amount of carbs (higher than a few grams) with fat when breaking a fast, because that combination (carbs + fat) hugely spikes insulin which is bad when you're starting your eating window. Why should I add low carb fruit when breaking a fast?

      Hi Lennart! You don't have to add fruit, but if it's a low sugar fruit, then the carbohydrate load shouldn't be too significant to drastically elevate insulin. This of course can depend on the carb sensitivity level of each person.     i break my 16:8 fast with 3 eggs, cooked kale/spinach, a slice of cheese, sometimes tuna / pickles. a litttle side of nuts/dark chocolate mixed with peanut butter. is this a bad meal to break fast with?

    Where can I find a full fat greet yogurt? I can find fat free or low fat Greek yogurt…

      I recently purchased Liberte Mediterranee, and really like it. It's not super tangy (I avoided plain yogurt for years because I don't like super tang), is 10% fat, 6g of protein per 3/4 cup, and no weird ingredients. It's very good!

      You can find full fat greek yoghurt from most grocery shops in the US. Look for the brand " Fage" . Look for either 2.5 or 5%.

      @@nanapoku5259 No, just at my local grocery store (Whole Foods is more than an hour away lol). I was very happy to find that I liked it! Fage I like, but it's not available here so obviously isn't an option.
