Hi Amani. I will be headed to Bishop in 10 days. Plan on taking my time on the way and hopefully seeing some cool areas. Thanks again for the vids and fish on !
Right on. Hope you have a good trip. I have tons of content for the area on my channel playlists. Fishing (River, lake, backcountry), variety, hiking, are all playlists for my channel that have a lot of eastern sierra content. With the snow coming and what is already on the ground in the high country, I don't think the hiking playlist will help you unless it warms up!
That driving wears me out, all said and done I have had those conditions in late September before and that winter was super dry. It is all a part of the journey, good job at keeping it safe.
I miss fishing in the Bay. Used to do it a lot as a kid growing up in San Mateo. It's getting cold at night quick so I think we all might need to be prepared for more road conditions like this!
I made that drive up from socal to Reno every Thanksgiving to my brother's house . I had some sketchy times driving it . I stopped some years back as it's not worth the risk .
Reminds me of driving home last winter from Reno to San Diego. Left at 3:50AM and the snow through obisidan dome area was brutal. 4wd 15mph the whole way till Tom's Place. This weekend im headed up to Lassen county for some fishing, might hit some good snow, we shall see. Good luck in the owens, tried fishing it with my dad a couple months ago, nothing but carp.
That sounds gnarly. It's so tense driving in these conditions. Surprised I don't leave indentations in the steering wheel because I'm gripping it so tight!
A few years back I got caught in heavy snowfall coming from Bishop to Minden. 2 wheel drive and no chains. Coming through Mammoth was iffy but got behind a semi and no problems. Got to the Walker River Canyon and everything was frozen including the road in white out conditions.
Right on. Heavy fog, snow, dark, behind a big rig that can serve as a lead blocker is always my move! Driving in snow like that sucks. Fortunately, the road wasn't iced up yet but early the next morning must have been dicey.
My only goal is to get where I'm going in one piece! That's the speed I go! I also keep about a 100 yard distance between myself and anything in front of me.
I see 4 wheel drives in ditches on the side of the road every time it snows a lot where I live north of downtown Reno. Seems a lot of people think you can still stop on a snow covered road when they are driving a 4 wheel or all wheel drive.
Patience grasshopper. Smart man.
Just like when he had to walk on the rice paper without tearing it, go slow!

Got a beautiful brown and a trophy sized bow out of the upper o yesterday. It was frosty in the morning 🥶
Nice. Yeah, the Upper Owens was great on my way out from this trip.

That's a good way to describe it! It wears me out! It's just so intense. I'm gripping that wheel!
Striper fishing in the Bay is getting good.
I've seen some huge wrecks on snow...

I get stopping! It can get sketchy on those two lane roads!
the driving clips are great! Love to see some time lapses
I am not a fan of driving in these conditions but if that's what it has to be to go fishing I guess I'll do it!
I have a jeep and still take it slow. But looking forward to some cold weather fishing.
It's the 'stopping' that is an issue on roads like that!

Almost 10k followers!
I'm getting there. Keep on grinding!
You drive like I do. I got out of Reno to CA a week before you

So many people just don't want to slow down in winter road conditions. Drives me nuts.

I do not like driving in the snow - I will stay in the bay area LOL
I hate it. I mostly worry about other people hitting me.
