Great video. It will definitely help people out. And people need to see the follow up video with the changes done , since RUclipsrs are done done, on to the next “one”.
I def am interested in this Kevgret, I also have a Sinden though so I need to see what the iircade is going to do with that, but this looks really sweet.
Great video kev! If I didn’t have my Steamdeck set up to my alu with sinden, I’d probably go this route. Plan to get glens viper board soon and go sinden for that route too and just make a dedicated light gun cab out of the iircade as well.
Great Review Kev! I had same problem but with other mods I made on my AtGames Legend Ultimate with the power not completely turned off. I added a power switch on the back and it wired to a multi power switch that installed inside my ALU no more problems. I’m a little nervous in drilling holes into my bezel. But thanks for the great review it really looks nice.
Keep in mind if you bought the older retro shooter the muzzle only supports the 2 sensors and you need to purchase the new muzzle to capture the 2 additional sensors …. I use a smart plug for power off so I don’t have the sensor power issue …
Or just dont install the two additonal sensors from buystuff.. its around $100 for the additional two IRs i only paid $266 for the whole package. Seems a bit high just for two additional IRs
This product design flaw (risk of fire) is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Thanks for video Kev. They should send that fix cable to every customer who purchased this kit they are crazy for going cheap and making you send them an email that is ridiculous and dangerous🙄
Silly question. I am very very new into the home arcade world. I take it IR sensors are not cheap. If the package from retro shooter already includes the 4 sensors, hypotherically can i go atraight to installing it into the hdmi of the ALU. I see that yhe buystuffarcade integration lit includes 4 sensora too so why have more. Like why buy both kits and have an extra 4 sensors sitting around. Just need light gun for ALU no need for tv/pc. Would it be cost saving to just get the pedal/gun holster from buyarcade amd the rest from Retraarcade and have the wires taped to the back of the cabinet
Buy stuff sells the 4 sensors for the ALU because the sensors are a different shape and can be installed easier into the cabinet than the 4 sensors that come with the Retro shooter. You can right out of the package install the retro shooter into the ALU. You will just need to put everything through the HDMI and the guns will work right out of the box. You might need to work with the sensors a little bit on the ALU and make sure they can get installed so the guns are accurate. I drilled the buy stuff sensors into the cabinet so they work perfectly. Try to install everything without buying the kit... if you think there are too many wires or the guns arent tracking correctly, you can always add the buy stuff kit later. Hope this helps!
@@kevgret thank you for getting back to me. The package came in today amd installed it stock, thru the hdmi port. It took some trial and error to use the double sided tape for the ir sensors. DAMN there are wires everywhere. So in your video after install, you went to SETTINGS > OTG MODE > then pressed the hdmi switch button. Does the buystuff arcade make you install theu both a Hdmi and USB. I only plugged into hdmi amd it works. However i dont know how to play NON-light games that come on the pandora. So i scroll thru the menus and games with the lightgun toggle for gun games but if i want to play non gun games i am not able to use the deck? Havent found an amswer online so far
Hey Kev. Suggestion for you would be to get yourself a wifi surge protector, put it inside the cab and plug all of your stuff to it. You can name each plug and from your phone, turn on and off each accessory you have connected to the ALU. Hope this helps. Nice video man.
I had the same issue with the sensors being hot and on all the time. I wound up getting an on/off switch and DC to USB adapters, then plugged them in to an iPhone charger plug. It’s less power going through so they don’t get hot and they still function perfectly fine and aren’t on all the time.
Mike, today the cost for the guns, 2 pedals, 2 NES controllers, and 2 PS style controllers is $317.98. If you have an atgames you would only need the gun package which would cost $287... I would wait until another sale to get it under $300... It was $266 shipped during black Friday so there will be another sale... I think its worth the price and I am having a great time with it.
I'm drilling holes for my sensors and on the bottom left "the problem one", it feels like I'm hitting the plastic housing. do I need to drill through that as well? When you take the 3 screws out from the back of that plastic housing it doesn't really pull back very much at all so I'm kind of stuck trying to figure that one out. Any suggestions?
How did you still manage to use the but lcd? In my setup have got 1 usb for my coin ops, and 1 usb for my bit pixel. I’m about to order but it looks like the Pandora box also uses the usb
Nice! I also installed my Retro Shooter on my ALU. I did however mount the box inside the cabinet for a super clean install. But here is a question for ya. Were you able to get the player 2 custom map the buttons? Also did you see the scanline setting? I like how it looks with it turned on. Really helps the look of some of the games!
I am still maintaining a 50+ pound loss since 1/1/2022. It's hard work but I feel great... I am doing it with a combo of keto diet and running 4 miles a day.
why not just plug it into the hdmi in...for free?...just like you would with a tv,,,you could conceal the wires in the back of the cabinet....no need to spend useless money
because it hides the cables and I would still need to go buy the gun and pedal holsters. This also cuts the power to the sensors when I turn off the unit. Well worth it for me
This looks way too complicated. Unless there's an easier option for setting up light gun games, I'm going to pass. It looks like such a chore to set it up.
Its not too bad.. you dont need to drill the sensors if you dont want to. That will save some effort. If I can figure it out I think you will be able to as well 🤣

Will the bit pixel work with it?
Just a heads up, Looks like either Buy stuff sent you the wrong hdmi cable or it’s backwards. It’s supposed to sit flat just like your usb cable is.
Sucks its missing house of the dead 1.
Yeah.. it does have 2... I play 2/3 and overkill on my wii setup on the legends

Personally i don't understand why people want 4:3 ratio. Black bars on the sides are terrible for games. Maximum usage of the screen is my preference
