Hi Everybody, Thanks for checking out the video! Let me know what you think of the AtGames Legends BitLCD and is this a must have accessory for the AtGames Legends Ultimate?
Finally we get the review! I got 3 ALU's with 3 BitLCD's and I absolutely love, especially at the price I got them. The Nostalgia thing is "fixed" with BitLCD brother, most people have their cabinets pressed together and with the lights low, its screen, marquee and your golden! I have made more than a couple of my own Marquees and videos its alot of fun.
The BitLCD is an absolute must have for the ALU. I've had mine since the initial pre-order days. I also highly recommend the USB extender that Wagner's Tech Talk suggests, as it makes it so much easier to update the marquee images after the initial install.
Excellent review as always, MichaelB! Very well done. Watch for COX BitLCD Pack 3.0 in the next week or two, just finishing up a few things. You'll have over 500 updated and improved quality marquees as more resources have become available since the last release! Enjoy!
The BitLCD is amazing, looks incredible in person. I like filming different game videos once in a while as it looks like a standalone game with the matching marquee and sending to my friends claiming I bought yet another arcade cabinet - they think I need an intervention! 😂
I can't wait to get a Legends ultimate cab. I'm gonna get this BitLCD marquee, I'm gonna refinish the front below the CP and paint over black all that stupid artwork, I'm gonna sand over the side art and put wood grain vinyl laminate on the sides, I'm gonna switch in the black leather T-molding, I'm gonna boost the Control panel to a slant like a real arcade cab and build a small rafter for the cab to sit on so it doesn't look like I'm staring down at a toy. I'm pumped!
the BitLCD is pretty fantastic, no cap, but it's WAAAAY too expensive. the bitlcd is literally the same price as what I paid for the entire cabinet and if wanted to sink another $350 into my ALU, It would probably be to replace the pretty small (particularly for vertical games but also for shooting games) 24" monitor that it comes with (with ALL THAT BEZEL) with a 30" panel which should just about take up all the bezel space. Unfortunately there's no specific kit, but I've been looking for a suitable display to make it happen for a while now and I really want to do it... 24" is really just too small in my opinion. - I also really want to get a riser for my ALU as well (it's pretty short). the ALU is THE BEST home arcade system i've seen short of DIY options, and certainly the most economical. but I REALLY wish they'd make it the size of a full-sized premium arcade cabinet you'd find in a normal arcade.
Yeah it is pricey, best to grab it when it's on sale through National Owners Day or similar events. I would love if the new ALU 4K could come with a taller cabinet with more of a traditional arcade shape and a rotating screen
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie rotating screen could be an interesting solution to solve for the vertical game problem, but I personally find that even the horizontal games (particularly shooting games where you're standing back a bit more), or even the later fighting games could look a bit better with a bigger display. I'd love to see a next gen 30" 4k unit that was a bit taller, preferably that integrates the 8 button layout found on the ALGP. I like the idea of 4k, but 24" is too small to make the most of 4k anyhow. I'm pretty sure if i get the right one, I can fit a 30" 4k panel in the current ALU though. of course knowing atgames, they'll want to charge an arm and a leg for it when it first comes out. the ALU was designed for a price point of something like $1200 at introduction (which is also crazy for most home buyers),
I’m so confused. You just did a video on 1up Robotron and commented how the bit lcd displaying “Robotron” doesn’t give you nostalgia so you need to buy an Arcade 1up robotron if it’s comes out because playing on the ALU with the bit lcd “just doesn’t give you the nostalgia you need”
Let me help explain it to you, The Legends BitLCD is great because it adds some nostalgia where there otherwise wouldn't be any other than playing the game itself. But the BitLCD isn't the full package, you don't get the side art, you don't get the control panel or the bezel art. Robotron 2084 is a special game to me and while I appreciate having the marquee i would still want something that offers more, preferably the real cabinet TBH but if i can't find one an arcade1up done right would be great. I mean surely you understand where I am coming from since you built your own Donkey Kong cab where you already had other ways to play it
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie I understand completely. 1ups and ALU don’t give me the nostalgia I’m looking for in DK. But mainly because for games like DK, you need a completely different joystick , vertical screen; recessed screen, etc. That’s why I want exact replicas . I was just curious after the Robotron comment. It’s seems the thumbnail could have gone two ways. “Adds some Nostalgia….but not enough Nostalgia “.
Does anyone know if you can use a legends Bitpixel for a real dmd or digital signage? Asking because if I get the LCD, wouldnt know what to do with the bitpixel.
Next NOD, I'll probably get this. Currently using the BitPixel panel on my ALU. I think the LCD dynamic marquee is very cool, and really should be included as standard stock, by home arcade manufacturers, going forward.
Michael B! You're absolutely right! Though I don't have this particular screen, I have a 3/4 scale recreation of Donkey Kong with a screen marquee that does exactly what the Bit LCD does. If I ever decide to get an AtGames Legends, the Bit LCD will be a must buy! Seeing the marquees change with the game is a game changer! vgv
YES! And this is also why the AtGames Pinball machine intrigued me as well. That changing backglass screen makes a HUGE difference. Don't get me wrong, I love my Attack From Mars Arcade1Up, but if I was to ever mod anything on it, I would want a screen there that changes the backglass image. And I also like Kong's R Us's shooting cab, where when the machine is off, he has a magnetized overlay he can place over the marquee screen, so it can show the marquee of the cab when not in use. I hope these marquee screens start to become a standard :) vgv
Great as always, question if you don't mind debating buying atgames legends ultimate for my multicade option, is there going to be a new 1 soon with 4k or did I hear wrong? Thanks for the video and maybe the answer!

Haha It only took like 8 months right?
Do they have different control decks?

Great video MichaelB! I’ve had the BitLCD since day 1 and it is a game changer! I absolutely love it!
Thank you so much Jason! Completely agree it adds so much to the experience with the ALU
The BitLCD looks great. I wish I had one for one of my two AtGames Legends Ultimates. I have BitPixels on them now though. ALU is a great multicade.
The BitPixel is still pretty cool but it doesnt do what the BitLCD does

I just wish AtGames would create a BitLCD for the Legends Mini.

I love the bitlcd. I also recommend the riser. I’m 5’9 and the 3 inch riser helped bring it to a better height for me.
At Games is looking better and better. Good job on your review and stating you got this this thing for review! 🎉
Thanks! Always do state when i receive something for review, it's the youtube code
Waiting for the BitLCD and 4KP SOC/CPU upgrade kit this Christmas before buying.

That looks fantastic and completes the look for the total arcade feel.

Love mine ! and I added a Pixelcade to the mini !

all it needs now is a bitsideart and it will be whatever game you want it to be

Right? It's just a simple change but it adds so much

Can these work with non- atgames multicade? It's so much cheaper than pixelcade
Ugh... another compelling product with no availability for Canada customers. ❌🍁
Hopefully that changes
I love my BitLCD, works great with coinopsX and Sause
