Due to my camera setup it may not be coming through as loud as it actually sounded. We are very happy with the level of sound the intake makes. It was worth purchasing.
You have to push a screw driver into harness where it clips onto the metal extension attached to the turbo inlet pipe. You should be able to see where there harness is clipped to the bracket. Take the screwdriver and push it into the clip, this will release the harness from the bracket saving you from having to remove the bolt holding the bracket in place.
@@loganschutte3093 Thank you! I’m glad it helped. We have more videos to come. My wife and I have a car problem, so we’re constantly coming up with more things to do to our cars. 😂
@@nprform thanks for the reply. I recently purchased a VN and couldn't believe how quiet it was but definitely going to order a cold air intake for it now that I know they actually make a difference in sound
@@iadoremelissa12345 I can guarantee it makes a difference. I put a Forge intake on my Elantra N after hearing the difference it made on my wife’s Veloster N. The sound is great. It makes me want to get on the throttle all the time! Lol
@@iadoremelissa12345 No, I didn’t notice a heat soak issue. The filter is made large to compensate for heat soak. We also installed a new intercooler. The intercool made a noticeable difference with heat soak.
I have a cat back MBRP active exhaust and takeda open intake on my 22 VN 6 speed I really with I would have gotten the Forge Can’t hear the takeda at all :(
Thank you for the information. We had originally looked into buying the takeda, due to its looks, but chose the Forge due to the fact my wife wanted something with more presence in the engine bay, since we go to car shows a lot and because of sound clips of the intake. It was a good choice.
@@magyverboles7947 A small amount of flutter is normal, when letting off the throttle. If you have flutter, when your on the throttle, this would be an issue.
Never understood why these intakes are called cold air intake when the placement is in the engine bay where the air is much warmer than when the intake is places in the front where actuall cold air is comming into the mask... what a joke
Great vid. The DCT is an awesome car, can’t take anything away from it👍🏾
Thank you!
I have an i30N dct with this setup and it sounds fantastic! I also have a brola atak cat back on the way which will add more to the car :)
Nice!!
Great video and really informative :)
Thank you! I look forward to making more videos about your products for my wife’s Veloster N and my Elantra N.
Sounds phenomenal
Superb video man
Thank you!
@@nprform I have that forge intake and am just debating of if I want to deal with installing an inlet or not haha
@@MrToppramen I would say it’s worth it. It takes a bit of patience, but it’s not that bad.
Cold air intake?
It’s sucking in hot air from the engine bay.
The standard air box with a better filter would work better!
What I was thinking
Any recommendations?
hey nice vid. Its a shame the intake noise is not louder from the outside
Due to my camera setup it may not be coming through as loud as it actually sounded. We are very happy with the level of sound the intake makes. It was worth purchasing.
I have the exact setup in red and it's much louder than what it picks up on camera
@@Damo1998 it’s definitely hard to pick up on camera.
Need more details on the wire harness connected to the turbo inlet. How do you pop that off

The video helped out so much and was way better than others in my opinion! Will be following yall through the journey

Question. Is there anything else done to the car for sound? Like a blow off valve or anything? Or did all that extra sound come from just the intake ?
In this video, the only thing done is the Forge Intake. The exhaust is stock with no modifications.

You get a tune with this?
We haven’t tuned the car at this time.
does the stock turbo works on this? ford focus st mk3
I’m sorry, I don’t know if the Veloster’s turbo will work on another vehicle.

Will the flutter hurt our turbo? I have an HPS cold air intake now and i can hear the flutter
Do you hear it when you’re on the gas or as you let off the gas?

Dct tho? Damn should have went 6mt
My wife and I both have DCT’s. Manual and DCT are both great, can’t go wrong with either transmission.
The DCT is amazing on this car. I went from a manual (Subaru WRX) to a DCT Veloster N and I’ve never been disappointed by it.
Worst filter ever its the best filter for heat soak
I have this same intake on my 130n along with a turbosmart dual port bov,
the combination sounds unreal.
Only heatsoaks when stopped at lights or traffic, as soon as you move Temps instantly lower.
With the Forge FMIC you will have no heatsoak.
