      I was thinking the exact same thing. Seems to be a trend with these knife restoration vids. No one can do it proper.

    personally, I'd prefer to have the tang hidden inside the knife handle.. it's more practical to have the full handle shaped nicely to hold, instead of being constrained by the tang's edge, as well as in case you need to touch anything with electric current and the tang exposes your hand to it.. but that's just my preference.. nice job, this..

    Knives are sharpened in the direction of the point. So that the cutting edge does not fall to the side in the process.

    He destroyed the temper and "quenched" a blade that was not nearly hot enough for conversion of austenite to martensite! He may as well have cut the blade from mild steel flat bar and called it a knife!
