      @@lacerav5818 According to Trayvon's girlfriend, Trayvon lost George and made it home safe.
      Then Trayvon decided to go back 100 yards in the dark and the rain to find George.
      Trayvon confronted George and sucker punched him in the face breaking his nose.
      Then Trayvon got George down and straddled him MMA style.
      Trayvon started hitting George and banging his head against the concrete.
      George took a beating for over a minute while he was yelling for help and no one helped him.
      As George was struggling to get loose, his jacket rose up revealing his gun.
      George thought that Trayvon was going for his gun so he blocked Trayvon's arm, grabbed his gun and shot Trayvon in the chest, killing him in self defense.
      This entire incident took 7 minutes and 21 seconds, from George Zimmerman's call to the non emergency number at 7:09.34 to 7:16.55 when Trayvon was shot.
      The 1st officer arrived at 7:17.45.
      A couple of the witnesses saw George Zimmerman about 30 seconds after the shot.
      George Zimmerman had the following injuries:
      2 black eyes
      A broken nose
      2 gashes on back of head
      Abrasions on both sides of head
      Various bumps and strike marks on face and head.
      Trayvon Martin had no defensive wounds.
      Trayvon did have:
      A scraped knuckle
      A bullet wound
      John Good the only eye witness to part of the assault, said that he saw Trayvon Martin on top MMA style, raining down blows, and George Zimmerman on the bottom yelling for help.

    It states specifically on the individual being attacked to PREVENT imminent death or great bodily harm. Also it clearly states to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony.
    If Martin was alive, he would've definitely have been charged for felony battery for repeatedly attacking Zimmerman, regardless whether Zimmerman was dead or severely injured.

    The jury acquitted Zimmerman after presented the evidence in which you claim he's lying, and that's without admitting evidence that would further reduce Trayvon's credibility.
    Zimmerman thought Trayvon looked suspicious and had reason to. You have no reason to think that Zimmerman had any intention of confronting Trayvon; that's your own bias.

    If you live in a supposed to be 'safe' gated neighbourhood, and in one year 8 houses get broken into, you get vigilant. Kids live there too.. protection is failing and the police can't seem to do anything.
    So yeah you make the wrong call one day to start a neighborhood watch and in bad judgment try to stop who you think is the next thug. After getting smashed to the concrete for it though, kicked to the head repeatedly (2 skull lacerations and broken nose on record), you point and fire in fear of never seeing another day or familiar face ever again.
    This makes you a human being who f*ed up, paying for it knowing and feeling you killed an innocent kid, like the ones you tried to protect in the first place, to live. That is your sentence. What happened up to the verdict and now still in comments found here, is a glimpse of how humanity is slowly losing touch with itself and reality more and more.

    • @grundlefly
      @grundlefly 9 лет назад +2

      There are a few strong arguments in what you said. But I respectfully disagree with your verdict.
      There are so many different ways that scenario could have ended. There is also a beginning and several middle parts to the story. It's important to stick to the facts.
      Zimmerman is not the victim. He is the one who made the initial decisions that led to the death of Trayvon Martin. He was the instigator in this case.

    • @grundlefly
      @grundlefly 9 лет назад +2

      pt2. The defendant was armed. The victim was not. There is no evidence to support the defendant had any
      reason to believe the victim posed him any personal harm until he approached the victim and harassed him. There is evidence that the victim beat his aggressor about the head.
      But this never would have occurred if Zimmerman had called the police instead. Sure, maybe he was worried the police would show up and shoot the kid dead immediately. That's a valid concern. But I doubt that was what prevented him from doing so. Point is, Zimmerman should have been found guilty of Manslaughter in the Second Degree at worst, in the First at best. He did it. So did OJ.

    • @interlace84

      raggedthistle I don't know if you follow the sport of MMA, I do. The 'victim' in this case being a trained mixed martial artist, was armed in that way and took the defendant down to the pavement and started "ground and pounding" away.That definetely poses a personal harm, you don't break your nose and get two cuts on your head over nothing. That all happened before the shot.
      No matter how they got to that situation, an untrained person against a trained MMA fighter, unable to move, in fear of getting beaten to death, shot the gun to protect his life. At least that's how I'll see it until someone can convince me otherwise. All this media hyperbole about backgrounds, racism, noise and static is just adding more and more confusion around it all.

      @ace toxic The following was brought out at the trial and NEVER disproven:
      George Zimmerman was on his way to the store when he saw Trayvon Martin walking on the grass and looking at a house that had been broken into recently.
      George drove past and parked at the clubhouse while he called the non emergency number.
      Trayvon saw George sitting in his truck, talking on the phone and watching him.
      Trayvon told his girlfriend that a guy was watching him.
      Trayvon walked past George and down Twin Tree Lane.
      George lost sight of Trayvon so he drove down Twin Tree Lane and parked at the cut through.
      Trayvon saw George driving down Twin Tree Lane and he told his girlfriend that the guy was following him.
      Trayvon's girlfriend told him to run and Trayvon ran south towards the back gate.
      After Trayvon ran south towards the back gate, George got out of his truck and tried to follow in the direction that Trayvon ran.
      About 15 seconds later, the dispatcher hearing wind noise asked George if he was following him and George said yeah.
      The dispatcher advised George that they didn't need him to do that.
      George said okay and STOPPED following in the direction that Trayvon ran.
      Even though Trayvon ran south towards the back gate, George walked east to the next street as he continued to talk to the dispatcher for another minute and a half.
      When Trayvon ran south towards the back gate, he was on the phone with his girlfriend and the call got disconnected.
      Trayvon's girlfriend called him back and Trayvon told her that he had lost the guy and he was at his daddy's fiancee's house in the back.
      This was almost 100 yards south of where Trayvon would eventually confront George 3 1/2 minutes later.
      According to Trayvon's girlfriend, Trayvon lost George and made it home. Did he go inside the house?
      No, Trayvon decided to go back 100 yards in the dark and the rain to find George.
      Trayvon confronted George and sucker punched him in the face.
      Then Trayvon got George down and straddled him MMA style. Trayvon started hitting George and banging his head against the concrete.
      George took a beating for over a minute while he was yelling for help and no one helped him.
      As George was struggling to get loose, his jacket rose up revealing his gun.
      George thought that Trayvon was going for his gun so he blocked Trayvon's arm, grabbed his gun and shot Trayvon in the chest killing him in self defense.

    I hate racism, I hate guns. I think the reason tragedys like this happen is because it's legal to carry a firearm in America with a simple permit. Here in the uk guns are illegal you get people who break the law and do it anyway everywhere but in this case.... Neighbours were too afraid to leave their houses and go help. Why? Because of fear of being shot dead. They should ban guns in America how many more youths and people in general are going to have to die before people see the real issues here? How can they suggest there was zero racial profiling he was a young African-American walking home from the shops? A vehicle pulls slowly along side him trailing him now regardless of that being legal etc. over here if a grown man was trailing a 17 year old who wouldn't run? We were always brought up to avoid and run. So why was this boy any different. How could Zimmerman say the boy wasn't afraid in a previous interview I watched on him. How does he know how he felt in those moments he is not him? It's always going to be maybes and what ifs. But what really matters is a child lost his life whether he was being violent or not I struggle to understand how a grown man couldn't fight off a child without the final resort of killing him? It's a choice we all have one he could have thrown him with force and ran. Even the mere sight of a gun would have been enough but to just kill him? The justice system is messed up there is always a way maybe if there was no guns neighbours could have came out and separated it and the boy would be alive to tell his side but of course he is not. I understand if people are terrified and threatened into defending themselves in frightening circumstances but I just struggle to see how a young skinny 17 year old would put the fear of God into a grown man unarmed and why was we even carrying a gun on watch in the first place? Why didn't he just go back to his car let the police handle it? System is corrupt. If I was following a young boy who seemed to oppose a threat I'd be away no way would I just walk on through knowing he's seen me and knows I've been following him. Minor details don't add up but then we will never know the truth only the verdict that has been decided & Zimmerman himself. He also said he wouldn't change it because it's gods will ... Fate. He has Catholic religious beliefs. Well the Catholic faith does not condone killing of any kind so how can it be the work of God? how can he truly believe that? .... I'm sure he will find out that answer himself one day. This has just paved the way for others to shoot people claim self defence and go scot free. Like I said justice system is a joke! The fact he went out with a firearm and pin pointed him etc should be cause for something. Very very wrong! I hope it didn't cause a divide in the racial aspect of things because I myself are white and it wouldn't matter to me what colour of skin the youth had I would still feel the same there was no need to kill. I myself would rather die than live with killing a child. Maybe that's weird but just how I feel!

When you think about it, this makes sense why it was written into law. If someone pushes you, does that give you the right to pull out a pistol and shoot them dead? No. Sure, you may have FELT like you were being threatened, but your life wasn't in danger from a mere shove. So you can't claim self-defense.

    Those situations in which someone is beaten to death by an unarmed attacker are rare. In most situations, the two fighters survive. Some may be more injured than others, but for the most part, they live beyond the incident. Judging from Zimmerman's relatively light injuries (only cuts and bruises), it would seem that Zimmerman was still in good enough health to subdue Treyvon without reaching for a gun. Again, involuntary manslaughter.

      Yours is the only life you get to wager on it, Zimmerman acted in self defense

    It's not sympathy for a thug. It's sympathy for someone who was murdered.

  • @ChillStreamsLive

    It CAN be lethal (hence why I said "not many"), but Zimmerman was still able to walk and move about after the fight. So your whole point isn't correct. That alone is evidence his life wasn't in jeopardy and that he did NOT need lethal force to survive. Again, the self defense claim doesn't stand.

    ¡Wrong again! He's half Equadorian (mother from Ecuador). No wonder so many people come to conclusions without knowing all the facts in a story. Making assumptions doesn't lend any credibility to your argument. Regardless of him being Ecuadorian, being Mexican American myself, I would welcome him with open arms and would support him the best way I'd know how.

    So you're implying that justice should be subverted due to fear of public upheaval, perpetrated mostly by people with an entitlement attitude and expect handouts from the government.

    Removed my comment, I thought you purposely cut that out.
    Again, this does not change anything. What you have given me has shown that Zimmerman had reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm. Which I repeatedly told you and explained why he made that choice in shooting Martin.

  • @H4134
    @H4134 11 лет назад +1

    You seem to have a godlike omnipresence in this matter. Show evidence, or retract your statement.
    It is simple;
    Zimmerman approached Trayvon, there was a history of robbery in the area. Zimmerman only investigated on where Trayvon was going, this is one of the responsibilities of the neighbourhood watch.
    Martin confronted Zimmerman and attacked him, ground and pounded, Zimmerman feared for his life and shot him.
    You need to look at the current facts, your argument is baseless.

  • @H4134
    @H4134 11 лет назад

    Also the self defense laws allows the person being attacked to create a personal space around him, for obvious reasons. You don't let the attacker get too close to you if you have a gun, as he is within reach of attacking you.
    Also, I do wonder, did you actually follow the case? Or are you basing your arguments off emotions?

  • @H4134
    @H4134 11 лет назад

    Zimmerman was trained as a police officer, he is a neighbourhood watch captain.
    You have proven that you have no knowledge on how dispatchers operate. All I can suggest to you is research on this. As far as I am concerned, you're repeating the same lines, it does get boring repeating them.

    The state of Florida should be embarrassed! What a disgrace to take this to trial when there is a TON of reasonable doubt! But having said that a jury found Casey Anthoney not guilty when it was beyond a reasonable doubt she killed her own daughter. So, by all logic Zimmerman should easily be found not guilty on all counts I won't put anything pass a dumb jury. But the state itself should of not prosecuted this case to begin with. That's their job. It's shameful.

    but Zimmerman did not know about Trayvon's previous altercations or actions. it was based off his hoodie and skinny jeans - sad huh? why pursue someone, provoke them to defend themselves, and then shoot him? that's murder

  • @ChillStreamsLive
    @ChillStreamsLive 11 лет назад +1

    " Deadly Force may be used to fend off an attacker who is using deadly force but may not be used to repel an attacker who is not using deadly force."
    Treyvon did not have a weapon and was not the aggressor in this case. Zimmerman was the attacker (in the sense he started the confrontation) and he was carrying a gun. Zimmerman could not reciprocate nondeadly force with a fatal gunshot. Zimmerman could only use nondeadly force in order to claim self defense.

    Protecting his neighborhood form WHAT? The kid was carrying Skittles, and I doubt Zimmerman feels that strongly about diabetes. He assumed the kid was up to no good, for o reason, started an altercation, and shot him. That could happen to anyone, to your family... just minding their own bussiness, and someone mistakes them for causing trouble and BAM, a young life ended. There is no way, ANY INTELLIGENT PERSON, would think that Zimmerman should not be in prison... at the very least.

    Another reason why Zimmers story doesn't make sense is b/c the person crying 4 help is obviosuy too youn to be Zimmerman. Idk how old Zimmerman is, but he middle aged! The man crying for help didn't sound like a middle aged man but that of a 17 y/o. The voice could pass off as a 20 y/o's but not somebody Zimmerman's age.
