When Vulture calls Peter "Pedro" near the end, he does know his name. Pedro is the Spanish form of Peter. Kinda like Wanda's brother Pietro is another form of Peter.
Tom Holland played a great teenaged boy in this movie. Michael Keaton absolutely killed it as the Vulture and became one of my more favorite MCU villains.
Holland's interpretation of Spider-Man is that he tries to save even the bad guys. Casting Keaton was so meta; Keaton played Batman, then Bird-Man, now The Vulture. And Bird-Man was about an actor who used to play a super hero. They all fly.
I think this is one of the best Spider-Mans ever. You didn't need a origin story, that has been told over and over again. I like how it just gets to the point and his struggles of being the friendly neighborhood spider-man. There's an Easter egg in there where the guy playing the radio loud on the boombox is the same guy that was on the bus, dressed as a punk rocker in Star Trek 4.
They could just name drop uncle ben though like they ain't said his name at all just elude to it but I get it. I'm gonna rewatch the spiderman cartoons those have some great stories I hope we get to see Kraven in live action one day or Chameleon

I was kinda glad that Disney and Sony were taking agreement with together to create new Spiderman movies and I enjoyed watching the film and I hope we'll see more of Spiderman movies in the future 😊❤🎉
You also gotta watch the Raimi trilogy of Spider Man movies and the the two Marc Webb Amazing Spider Man movies. They’re gonna be very relevant later Also the two Venom movies.
@24:30, the moment that Tony pops out of the armor it was funny to see Peter step back in fear. Tony Stark is just a normal human being while Peter is stronger than even Captain America. But he definitely sees Tony as an authority figure.
You squirmed in your seat in sympathy with Peter Parker. I did at least. Who knew a conversation between the hero and the villain inside a car could be so tense? It was super inventive by the writers and director. And well performed by Tom Holland and Michael Keaton. It was a very well done scene by any standard.
6:00 "you punk" (old guy) was Stan Lee, co-creator of Spiderman in 1963(?)...I bought my first comic the next year! Before he died, Stan Lee made cameo appearances in all the Marvel films
A bit of head canon for me. At some point after Aunt May caught Peter in the suit, he said something to the effect of this to her, "Remember when I mentioned that fight with Steve from Brooklyn? It was Steve Rogers from Brooklyn. Yes, that Steve Rogers. And the huge friend, like 60 feet tall."
Keep up with the MCU. Whatever order in which you watch them, I believe you'll like them all. When Spiderman came out, one of my older brothers had the first one. Comics up till then really didn't explore how really difficult the dual life is. Spiderman blew up the comic racks because he was an ordinary person with ordinary problems along with the superheroes ' difficulties. HE WAS RELATABLE for every one. I didn't like comics. I love that spiderman just does everyday regualr saving people, like the avengers don't save people everyday only if its a mission, spidey sticking up for the little guy I like (: while he tries to balance out his own life
The villain in this one is called Vulture, because he is a scavenger that picks at the carcasses of the dead (salvaging the remnants of Avengers battles), and because he can fly of course :P Also: Pedro is Spanish for Peter :P
You keep pointing out spider man doesn't have a suit but vulture does, but on the other hand Peter naturally has super strength and Vulture doesn't so it kinda evens out.
No, "math-alon"isn't quite right. It was an "academic decathlon." "Decathlon" is the name of a grueling sporting event where athletes compete in 10 different events over just a couple days, so an "academic decathlon" is a scholastic contest that covers a wide variety of topics. It's a name that has been made up to describe a specific sort of quiz-show-style event between teams of high school students.
i blame tony as much as peter for the ferry cause all he had to do was just actually tell him that he did listen to what petter was saying about the weapons and told the fbi instead of ghosting him with "dont worry about it anymore"
Yup. Just like in Civil War, Tony's the villain again. (Maybe more antagonist than villain, but whatever.) He tells Pete there are other people who should be handling it... but those people AREN'T handling it. That's why Peter has to get involved. Tony's such a self-righteous, arrogant, often-wrong prick. The hero-worship is ridiculous.
He elevates the character. As a comic book reader in the '60s I was unimpressed by the Vulture then, but the writers, director, and Micheal Keaton gave the character a presence that he previously lacked.

If you’re not familiar with Spider-Man’s origin, he was raised by his aunt May and uncle Ben. After being bit by the spider, he tried to earn some money in the underworld, which tragically led to the death of his uncle. That’s why May is so concerned about Peter; she recently lost her husband.
We don't know the circumstances of Uncle Ben's death in the MCU. There is nothing to indicate that it is the same as the previous versions of Spider-Man (Peter Parker).
