Chadwick is from my hometown (Anderson, South Carolina) and has done a lot for the local communities & kids here. Wakanda Forever, My King 🤴🏿🙌🔥🍻
I am not king of all ppl. Just king of Anderson, South Carolina. 😁
Chadwick isn't the only one who recently passed. Dorothy Steel, the actress who protrayed the Merchant Tribe Elder, had passed away about two months ago.
Dorothy was in her 90s, and she decided to become an actor in her 80s. Landed a Marvel Studios film in a decade and it happened to be Black Panther. Not a bad way to live. Rest in power Dorothy and Chadwick of course.
May they both rest in the Ancestral Plane
I'm glad you got to enjoy watching Black Panther, it's one of my top favorite MCU movies!!! The hatred, pain and anger inside Killmonger is very relatable to see why he wanted to help oppressed people and exact revenge for his father's death, and when T'Challa beats him in the end, you still feel very sad about Erik's death that does not feel like a victory. Kudos to Michael B. Jordan for bringing Killmonger to life, and making him a complex villain. And in a way, T'Challa does accomplish Killmonger's goal of providing aid and resources to black people who have less than nothing. I love Black Panther!
RIP Chadwick Boseman & Stan Lee. WAKANDA FOREVER & EXCELSIOR😭😭😭😭.
I’m a Native American (Osage) and my tribe calls God or the Great Spirit, Wah Kon Tah and it’s pronounced “Wa Kon Da”. Pretty cool.
That's the Supreme God in yours?
That is amazing. I never knew that.
Calling God the Great Spirit takes me back to Shaman King.
Actually according to the Bible the so called Native Americans are from the tribe of Gad.
@@brianmcneal497 That is false. The bible says a lot of weird stuff. However, Native Americans are not part of it.
The best villains are the ones that believe they are right. The reason this movie rocks so hard is because Eric WAS right. Great reaction, love your channel!

One of my favorite standalone MCU films. Thanks for sharing. RIP Chadwick Boseman 🙏🏼🕊️
You're such a sweetheart Dasha, that you choked up a bit when you mentioned Chadwick Bosemans passing at the beginning of your reaction video. Your tears are real.. and it allows those of us who have been hardened by life to cry with you. It's a great gift you offer the RUclips viewers when you allow your feelings to take you on a journey as you watch, and invite us along for the ride as well. Thank you so much.. You Know?
The only 2 white guys in the film with speaking roles and proper screen time, are both from Lord of the Ring and The Hobbit... making them the Tolkien white guys of the film.
Underrated comment of the century…#Respect✊🏽
I see what you did there. Nice! 😁
Haha your point that's how minorities feel ALL the time. Usually surrounded by handsome, smart, charismatic, cool white guys. With their women being there to flirt and prop up the white guy.
"That actor is incredible..." That actor is Andy Serkis. Gollum. (And a lot of other films.)
King Kong.
Snoke
Gollum!
He directed Venom 2?
Caesar the Ape.
"Bucky, my Love!"
I'm dead! XD
Marvel does a good job with the humor. I also liked some of the more subtle humor, like when Ross was trying to reach the spot on his back where he'd been shot. I cracked up so hard at that, and everyone around me looked at me like I was an idiot. If you've ever tried to reach a spot on your back you just cannot reach, it's pretty relatable.
Great reaction, Dasha! You are a joy to watch. Now, I know you do your own thing, but considering how big and important Infinity War is, I strongly suggest you break the movie up into two or three parts for your reaction. It's extra work for you, but considering it's the penultimate part of the journey we've been on so far, it's something we viewers would definitely appreciate. Thanks. ☺
"There is more that connects us than separates us." - T'challa
Marvel movies, for example. :P
Dasha, you need a shirt that says "Oh no no no no..."
The actor who played Ulysses Klaue, who you called "the crazy man," also played Gollum in Lord of the Rings. And the CIA agent played Bilbo. They were the only two white major characters in the movie. You could say they were the Tolkien Whites.
LMAO, UNDERRATED COMMENT
If this were Reddit, youd get a fuckin award, i cant breathe
Ok. That really made me laugh. 😂👏🏼🤣
😆 👉 points!
Bruh 😂 that's too funny
This movies shows why trial by combat is a bad way to choose a leader.
Your reactions are adorable. Watching these movies again through your eyes is awesome. Keep going!
8:45 A concept called Chekov’s ledge, if you see an important ledge in the first act, someone will fall off it in the second act. :P
Was it named after the Star Trek Chekov?
@@Thrui Playwright Anton Chekhov. The trope is actually called Chekhov's Gun, where if a gun shows up early on in the play (or movie, or book, or video game) it will be used later.
Another great reaction video Dasha!!! Your emotions towards the end of the film at the sunset scene (I'm not crying, your crying. Ok, maybe I have tear...or ten in my eyes) was so compassionate towards Killmonger dying. YOU TRULY HAVE A HEART BIGGER THAN ANYONE CAN KNOW. "Are you serious?!" Yes I am!!! Keep it going Dasha!!!
Battle: T’Challah vs M’Baku
Dasha: “this is by far the most intense fight!”
Me: 😬… (wondering how she’ll feel about both that sentiment and M’Baku in about an hour)
When this film came out, it was such a cultural touchstone for a lot of black folks around the world because for once it meant we could see ourselves as the heroes of our stories and that representation continues to matter. Black Panther and Shang-Chi are two of my favorite characters in the Marvel Comics, they are both wise individuals, brilliant tacticians, but the best thing about them: they are kind.
You'll meet Shang-Chi a bit later down the line, of course, but he and Black Panther are among the most deadly fighters in the Marvel comics.
To be fair, black panther has been around since like the 60’s ( I am not 100% sure it could be the 70’s ) in the comics.
@@syn420951 1968, if I remember correctly. First appeared in Fantastic Four, then got his own comic book soon after.
Andy Serkis, the guy playing Ulysses Klaue, is also the same actor who did the motion capture and voice for Gollum in Lord of the Rings. He's very good at being creepy :)
Killmonger is more of an anti-villain; his ultimate goals of stopping oppression of blacks around the world is good, but his methods of getting there are questionable at best, and immoral and wrong at worst. Given different circumstances, he might have been the good guy, but he chose to become the thing he was fighting against, and that never works out for anyone.
The end credits scene with Bucky: the Wakandans helped to break his Winter Soldier mental programming so that no one could control him with those keywords again like Zemo did. He is truly free now.
Im sure eric is a good guy in one of the multiverse but...in what if...
No, Killmonger is a murderer & a terrorist. If you compare his excuses & plans, he's nothing more than a junior grade Hitler who wants to conquer the world.
@@ehleeinn9743 Ah, did you actually _watch_ the episode?
@@Caseytify there has to be one world where he is actually a good guy but in what if...
Please comprehend.
@@Caseytify You missed the point. Completely. I'm not saying he's NOT a murderer and a terrorist, and no, he is not comparable to Hitler because Hitler's goals were nothing but evil. The point is that given different circumstances, and his overall noble goal of ending the oppression of people of colour around the world, he might have been a hero, that's what makes him relatable and his story tragic.
If all you got from all that was "He bad cuz kill bad" then you're kind of an idiot.
I don't like superhero movies, but this was a great one.
Plus, having Chadwick playing Black Panther and having a movie that shows respect and love for black people and portray them as strong, independent leaders is amazing.
10/10.
Amen. This movie was a work of love and such a win.
The Suit that Killmonger is wearing at the end is called "Golden Jaguar" not another Black Panther Suit ;) :D
Chadwick Boseman was the perfect Actor to play the Black Panther, he'll be missed forever - may he R.I.P.
The suit that Tony showed to Peter at the end of Homecoming is also nanotech.
I really love this film. By my favorite director, a kid from Oakland, Ryan Coogler.
Ulysses Klaw is played by Andy Serkis who also played as Gollum / Smeagol.
He also played Ceasar on the Planet of The Apes trilogy….
Take a shot of vodka each time Dasha says "are you serious"
You'd die from alcohol poisoning...
I love the concept that an African nation left untouched by the influence of oppression would be the most advanced civilization in the world. Killmonger is so broken by the system that the only way he sees to spread the freedom of Wakanda is to take the place of the people who hurt him. T'Challa yelling at his ancestors that they were wrong to keep themselves separated from the world always gets me teary.
I mean majority of Africa is oppressed by Africa. Slavery is still legal in some countries there. Egypt for example was the Pinnacle of technology and wealth at one point in time, but that was completely due to location and slavery.
The only reason Wakanda is so built up is because of the vast resources it as in it's mines. Resources IRL Africa does not have or does not have the knowledge on how to refine them to gain profit. You think those miners who originally went into those miners, went there by their own Accord? I doubt it.
Also how did this small, basically city learn how to built aircraft and weapons and medicine from a single metal?
Gunpowder, probably the most important material on earth, considering it's advances and ideas. Was invited in china 5,000 years ago. Used as fireworks and artillery. But really hasn't been refined and experimented on till about 700 years ago. And even within that time frame it took 500 years to slowly begin to take shape into what it is today. Then branch out and teach individuals about chemistry and mixing, etc.
Basically what I'm getting at is oppression isn't the reason why some civilizations don't grow and invent. Hell oppression is sometimes the cause of why some civilizations prosper and grow. It's sad and ugly, but it's the truth. Actually I should be saying I don't think there is a single civilization that is still standing to day that did not have oppression in its history. Wether oppression of its own people or another. That's human history.
@@bombomos u can't say after the generations of direct theft of natural resources and people while destabilizing the area, followed by neo colonialism and neo liberal economics, that it isn't the root cause of their modern day poverty with a straight face
Today the global north keeps 60% of humans on earth making less than $5 a day by giving subsistence loans to poor countries in exchange for their resources and labour, and countries that try to opt out of this loan cycle and develop their country usually end up on the wrong side of an American backed coup that establishes a new government that keeps the global norths interest at heart. Ignoring all this and assume they all failed by themselves without any help, why? They're people like u and me with the same dreams and ambitions, only difference is they lucked out when they weren't born into a rich country. The idea that oppression has been around and nearly everyone dabbled in it a little isn't an argument that it's good, or that it should continue
And yea vibranium is just a magic rock that the writers needed to do everything, not really supposed to make sense I feel
@@flyingflamingflamingos3793 The current state of Africa has its roots in the expansion of European trade to Africa and around the world (mostly seeking trade routes to China) beginning in the 1500s. But that modern history does not explain Africa's lack of significant development prior to 1500. There were some prosperous trading nations on Africa's east coast, mostly involved in the slave trade with the Arab world, but when those trade networks were disrupted by European powers, these nations fell apart. The rest of Africa failed to develop large civilizations. This failure is in no small part due to a lack of trade throughout the interior of Africa. This failure is in no way the result of European interference. So why didn't Africa develop the way Europe, India, Mesopotamia and China did pre-1500?
Trade is the engine of progress. Trade allows one people to learn about, adopt and adapt discoveries made by others. This back and forth exchange of knowledge, as well as goods/resources, benefits all involved. Yes, it facilitates conquest. But it also facilitates progress. And throughout most of world history no European or Mesopotamian empire was in any position to expand into Africa. Traders, though, were under no such limitations. Had there been robust trade networks into the African interior pre-1500 the history of the continent would have been significantly different.
So all in all, the idea that a nation which has studiously isolated itself from the outside world would have massively outstripped the rest of the world technologically - with or without vibranium - is ludicrous. Maybe if Wakanda had been in contact with the Kree or other aliens you'd be able to make that case. But if they're strictly Earthbound, not so much.
@FlyingFlamingFlamingos they can and do say that. Always need you to know Africa is it's own problem, was always it's own problem and after colonialization and the rape of Africa ended, everything should have reset back to zero and that centuries-long stuff no longer has any effect on the place and its people. And other genius concepts like that (read Sarcasm)
Same as they need to push the "Blacks sold other blacks" chorus in order to blame black people for the racial slavery of America. Even though it was the completely different system that literally everyone else had- prisoners of war and debtors and they may as well blame the Vikings for American slavery if they're gonna keep the same logic.
Point is it's always about the Supreme Fault of the Black Person. Regardless of how idiotic the pathos is. It's really bout emotion🤷🏾♂️
@@bombomos it’s weird how invested some of *_”you”_* are in arguing against this fictitious location, arguing against the idea that Africa has been destroyed by so many outsiders and argue FOR *_”your”_* culture/society in an attempt to elevate yourselves in this specific conversation.😅
You’re so transparent🤣
I love this movie. It is one of my top 5 favorite MCU films. Killmonger is one of the better MCU villains. The action in this movie is great, as is the concept of Wakandan technology.
Imitating T'challa' s accent saying "What are you talking about... I never freeze!" It's so fun. Love this movie and I had a lot fun watching it & your reactions are always so fun Dasha.
Hey, Dasha! "Black Panther" is an important film. "Civil War" remains my favorite, "Winter Soldier" is, arguably, the best and "Guardians of the Galaxy" is cited as the most popular but the cultural and historical significance of this chapter in the saga cannot be denied. While all audiences marveled at the revelation of Wakanda, African-Americans, in particular, underwent a profoundly cathartic experience witnessing the potential of Afro-futurism dressed in the trappings of a popular entertainment that was both a Shakespearean family tragedy and a Robert Ludlum-esque espionage thriller!
While a handful of non-caricatured supporting black characters existed like Howling Commando Gabriel Jones from Marvel's World War II comic "Sgt. Fury" portrayed by Derek Luke in "The First Avenger", T'Challa aka Black Panther is the first ever black superhero! As editor, Stan Lee had encouraged the staff since 1963 to include people of color in crowd scenes to better reflect reality, but, when Jack Kirby presented him with the design of a new superhero called Coal Tiger, Lee consciously made the groundbreaking decision to greenlight the character. Inspired by the 14th-century Mali Empire Sultan Mansa Musa and controversial Pan-African activist Marcus Garvey, Lee and Kirby boldly crafted a figure who was a monarch, a scientist and a costumed adventurer. Inspired by a 1950s Australian comic book jungle hero called The Panther, the co-creators changed their character's moniker to its present form predating the Black Panther Party's use of the name by just a few months. Stan and Jack introduced T'Challa in 1966 in "Fantastic Four" 52-53 wherein Marvel's First Family was defeated by this mysterious new player proving he could match wits with elastic Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Marvel's greatest intellect, and equal the strength of rocky Ben Grimm aka The Thing, one of Marvel's powerhouses! T'Challa is undone when the four coordinate against him but then he explains that he lured them to Wakanda to test his mettle against the best in the world so he could know he was truly prepared to avenge his father's death by confronting his nemesis, Ulysses Klaw. In the comics, Klaw killed T'Chaka while stealing vibranium and young T'Challa robbed Klaw of his arm but, in the MCU, Klaue's arm was taken by Ultron in "Age of Ultron" and T'Chaka was killed by Zemo in "Civil War". Misunderstanding resolved, the heroes help each other. The Panther comes to the US afterwards, guest stars in a four-issue run of "Captain America" and is recruited by Cap to join the ranks of "The Avengers" in 1968 for 72 issues during which M'Baku, The Man-Ape, debuted in 1969. In "Jungle Action", written by Don McGregor and illustrated by Gil Kane, the Panther returns to Wakanda to face a claimant to his throne: N'Jadaka aka Erik Killmonger! This epic run from 1973 - '76 remains a critically acclaimed saga titled "Panther's Rage" and serves as the basis for the movie. The next storied run of Panther tales were written by Christopher Priest and illustrated by Mark Texeira in 1998 for 62 dark and gritty issues which introduced the Dora Milaje and State Department attorney Everett Ross who is re-framed as a CIA agent in the MCU. The Panther's all-female bodyguard have their historical basis in the warrior women of the 17th-century Kingdom of Dahomey now known as the Republic of Benin in West Africa. The subsequent run of Panther comics in 2005 written by filmmaker Reginald Hudlin and illustrated by John Romita, Jr. introduced Shuri who eventually assumes the title of Panther herself. It was during this period that T'Challa wed Ororo Munroe aka Storm of the X-Men, one of Marvel's most celebrated unions!
Director Ryan Coogler, known for the searing "Fruitvale Station" and the thrilling stealth-"Rocky" sequel, "Creed", was picked to helm the production. The end result was exotic, emotional and exciting! One week after "Civil War", we follow the young prince as he assumes the mantle of kingship by undergoing ritual combat, pursues justice against an enemy of the state and contends with a fateful usurpation of his throne. The film globetrots from Los Angeles to London to Busan but the principal setting is fictitious Wakanda, a wondrous civilization of flying air ships and bleeding edge technology hidden from the world by a cloaking field. A massive vibranium meteorite is the source of their high-tech wizardry but what makes Wakanda a Shangri-La of sorts is that the natural world has been woven into the fabric of society rather than sacrificed on the altar of progress as exhibited by the architecture of the capital, Birnin Zana, whose skyscrapers are accented with rustic design elements such as thatched rondavels and wooden posts studding the facades. There is also a spirituality to the culture such as communion with former Panthers in a savannah-like astral plane achieved via a psychotropic herb.
The large cast is comprised mostly of actors of African heritage including some major names continuing the pattern of attracting top talent to Marvel productions. Already introduced in "Civil War", Chadwick Boseman returns as T'Challa aka Black Panther bringing the same compassion, thoughtfulness and dignity to his new role as monarch of Wakanda replacing his late father, King T'Chaka, played by John Kani, who was killed in the same movie but returns as a spirit in this one for some emotionally wrenching interaction with his son. T'Challa's living family includes Angela Bassett as stern but proud Queen Mother Ramonda and Letitia Wright as playful but brilliant Princess Shuri, a scientist who heads a Q-like division that outfits the Panther with state-of-the-art tech. Known as the deadly Michonne from "The Walking Dead", Danai Gurira gives a commanding performance as the fierce Okoye, head of the Dora Milaje. The reliably excellent Forest Whitaker plays Zuri, head priest and shamanic counselor who harbors a shameful Royal secret. The ravishing Lupita Nyong'o plays Nakia, childhood sweetheart to T'Challa and a covert agent of Wakanda quietly intervening against the ravages of tribalism and colonialism in Africa. Winston Duke plays M'Baku aka The Man-Ape in a charismatic performance as Jabari Tribe chieftain and challenger to the throne. Daniel Kaluuya of "Get Out" plays W'Kabi, Border Tribe commander, rhino wrangler, Okoye's beau and T'Challa's childhood friend who has an axe to grind against Ulysses Klaue, the South African mercenary and vibranium thief introduced in "Age of Ultron". Played again by Andy Serkis, the unsavory lout returns with a powerful sonic cannon appendage in lieu of the arm Ultron severed! Michael B. Jordan plays antagonist N'Jadaka aka Erik 'Killmonger' Stevens in a tour de force of righteous indignation and bitter rage. Cousin to T'Challa and forgotten son of Wakanda, he forces the new king to confront the sins of his father and the moral failure of his nation with a blistering final declaration that remains the MCU's most impactful. Sterling K. Brown of TV's "This Is Us" plays N'Jobu, T'Chaka's brother, whose opposition to Wakandan isolationism nearly sows the seeds of his homeland's undoing. Better known as Bilbo Baggins of "The Hobbit" films and Dr. Watson of the modern-dress "Sherlock", Martin Freeman returns from "Civil War" as CIA Agent Everett Ross along with Florence Kasumba as the Dora Milaje Ayo who challenged Black Widow. Two character actors play tribal elders: Isaach de Bankole is the River Tribe chieftain with the lip plate and Danny Sapani of TV's "Halo" is the Border Tribe chieftain. In bit parts, Nabiyah Be plays Killmonger's ruthless lover, the doomed Linda, Alexis Rhee plays the casino's sly frontwoman, Sophia, and Atandwa Kani, John Kani's actual son, plays the young T'Chaka. Sebastian Stan has a surprise cameo as James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. Comedian Trevor Noah, "The Daily Show" host, voices Griot, the remote pilot operating system named after the African term for an oral storyteller.
TRIVIA:
1. Instead of rhinos, massive Clydesdale horses were used on set to interact with the performers as their surprisingly similar gaits made their digital replacement easier!
2. Ludwig Goransson's score was the first superhero film score to be nominated for an Academy Award since John Williams' score for "Superman" in 1978!
3. Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis both starred in "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" together so the crew took to jokingly calling them 'the Tolkien white guys'. Lol.
4. The scenes in Oakland, CA were actually filmed in Atlanta, GA near Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s burial site. His daughter visited the set to bless the project.
EASTER EGGS:
1. The nanite Panther suit is an innovation from Ta-Nehisi Coates' more recent 2010s run.
2. The horned mask Killmonger steals from the museum is a reference to a similar mask he wore in a duel with T'Challa during Reginald Hudlin's early 2000s comic run.
3. The 'White Wolf' moniker used for Bucky is a reference to a white character named Hunter from Christopher Priest's late 1990s comic run who was adopted by King T'Chaka as a child later to become the head of Wakanda's secret police known as the Hatut Zeraze!
CAMEO:
1. Stan Lee appears as a slick gambler in the underground Busan casino who scoops up the chips T'Challa leaves behind for 'safe-keeping'.
END-CREDIT SCENES:
1. After delivering an inspirational speech at the UN about illusory divisions and shared commonalities, T'Challa states Wakanda's intent to share its resources with the world.
2. Bucky Barnes is awoken by children and emerges from a thatched hut by a lake to be met by Shuri who asks about his health and informs him he has much to learn.
The next chronological stop in the MCU is the "Agents of SHIELD: Slingshot" featurette followed by "Spider-Man: Homecoming" set two months after "Civil War".
I'm very excited for you when you get to watch The Falcon and Winter Soldier. So much Bucky in it. You'll love it!

This movie works on every level. Wasn't crazy about the fight scene at the end between T'Challa and Kilmonger. I can't believe that's they best they could do. That's my only complaint. But everything else, just excellent. Winston Duke (M'Baku) stole every scene he was in. He doesn't get enough credit.
In the comics, Kilmonger is the size of M'Baku.

The British Museum scene always makes me giggle. Anything without internationally certified antiquities documentation to prove it was legally acquired is returned to the nation it came from... if they ask, but almost no one ever does. Better than 90% of the "African artifacts" in that museum are garbage sold to British tourists who bought these "authentic" mass produced souvenirs by the boat load then left their "collections" to the museum when they died. They have vaults full of the junk they still haven't cataloged. The only nation with any legit complaints is Egypt where, between the end of WWI and the start of WWII, corrupt antiquities officials were bribed to authorize a mountain of artifacts shipped out - so the documentation is all in order, but it's sketchy AF. Hopefully many of the Egyptian artifacts will return home once their massive new antiquities museum is completed - that thing is going to be one of the wonders of the world.
You have no idea WTF you're talking about. Jewish art and antiquities we're taken and confiscated by Germans during the Holocaust then sold under the guise of it belonging to the Germans to museums in Italy, France and Britain. Personal property from Africa was done the same. Families have been fighting for decades to get them back. You're not given a certificate when you have things taken from you when you're considered less than. There's plenty of documentation proving these art curators participation in obtaining Jewish and African artists works from other sources that weren't from the artists or families. Stop being ignorant of history
Because Britains told you, it must be true? They got rich off of other people's cultural items, possessions, rescources, etc....you think they gave it all back? Wow you are gullible.
13:30 Bilbo Baggins and Gollum reunite.
Also, you should wear the Are You Serious shirt if you decide to watch The Dark Knight.
The actor who played the mercenary is also the actor who played Sméagol/Gollum in Lord of The Rings.
Dasha of Russia must do more MCU! Right up until Spider-Man Far From Home. Then you have to do Sony's Spider-Man and Fox's X-Men and Netflix Marvel because the Multiverse is going to pull characters out of these franchises. You need to do all of this before WandaVision and the rest of the Disney+ shows. You have so much watching to do Dasha!
TCHALA is the richest character in all of comics he is worth 90 trillion dollars
One of the best marvel movies!!
Hi Dasha! I really think you need to put out another shirt from one of my favorite phrases you say, "IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL." In both English and Russian. I'd say "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!" or Заткнись и возьми мои деньги
Please react to "Let the Right One In" - Sweden, children and a vampire! (Don't do the Western remake!)
I love her intros 😍🤌🏾
You know the 'crazy guy' Claw is the actor that played gollum in Lord of the Rings. Andy Serkis
Hey Dasha, did you know the actor who plays Claw is Andy Serkis, the same actor who plays Gollum in Lord of the Rings?

A list of movies for u to react to unless you’ve already seen them. Gladiator. Brave heart. The thing (1984) just to name a few.
Not a portable sword. Long pointy pole is a spear. She had a portable spear.✌️♥️🌹
After watching this I was kind of sad that I would never get to hear Ulysses Klaue's mixtape. : (
I really did enjoy this movie. I didn't pay attention to the hype and politics and just appreciated it as a good film.
Dasha, you should watch We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson and Sam Elliott
I loved your reaction Black Panther Dasha.🤗 Looking forward to Avengers Infinity War next.😃
Love the shirt!
He is the Golden Jaguar.
It's a good thing no one told killmonger about the white wolf, a what if about that would be a wakandan boogeyman that breaks the MCU.
26:00 "Ohh. So he wants, like, no one but _him_ can be the _king."_
Yeah. He's committing the _ultimate_ act of selfishness and short-sightedness. Suddenly, it's not about making sure that Wakanda has a _king,_ come what _may._ It's about making sure that _Wakanda_ is there to provide _him_ with a domain to rule _over._
Now one certainty we all face, inevitably, is death. I don't care how young or old you are. I don't care how good or poor your health. I don't care how strong or weak. Sooner or later, you tangle with the Grim Reaper and he _wins._ Being prudent is about _recognizing_ this inevitability, accepting it and _preparing_ for it. Being prudent as a _leader_ is about preparing for whatever it is you're in charge of to continue _without_ you.
Being prudent as a _king_ is about recognizing and preparing for the fact that, even though it may be decades away, and even though you may have access to extraordinary medicine, inevitably, one day, your _nation_ will have to do without you. It's in the best interests of your nation that you _prepare_ it for that moment.
Killmonger just received leadership of a country that _had_ preparation for that eventuality in place and took it _away._ What's going to happen to Wakanda, now, the day _he_ dies?
Mad max Fury Road!!porfa reacciona a esta película ,siempre te veo tus reacciones son muy entretenidas , saludos y buenas vibras desde la distancia.
Have you watched The Lord of The Rings Trilogy? The actor that play Ulysees Claw is the voice actor of Gollum. And he is also the one that play as Caesar in "Rise of The Planet of The Apes"...
REST IN POWER MY KING 🙅🏿♂️👑 *🕯️ CHADWICK BOZEMAN 🕯️* 😔
Shuri is considered the smartest person in the MCU(Earth)....even smarter than the Genius Tony Stark.....
Because we're ALL FROM WAKANDA!!
Next movie, you're going to need a bowl of popcorn and a box of tissues. Then two boxes when you watch Endgame
Pink Panther with Steve Martin
Don't know if anyone mentioned it in the comments but in the comics Black Panther and Storm of X Men end up getting married
I was waiting to see who would be recast as Storm opposite of Chadwick
I salute you, Chadwick Boseman, you truly embodied your role as a King even in real life with your character & on how you lived among us ...You deserve to sit on your Throne as a true champion in heaven with the Christ & our lord beside you...R.I.P...Wakanda 4 ever
Alright, time to explain metaphors.
Ulysses is a metaphor for what European colonialism did to Africa. Note that he is willing to harm all of Wakanda to get his hands on the vibranium. In the comic books, they make the metaphor very blatant by having him wear a pith helmet from time to time.
Vibranium is therefore a metaphor for the resources of Africa taken by European colonialism, and Wakanda is a fantasy of what Africa might have been like without European colonialism.
In ancient times, the Wakandans encountered it in their territory, and it turned a scout into a monster. The tribal chieftain decided on the spot to isolate from the rest of the world, both to protect the vibranium from power-hungry foreigners, and to protect the rest of the world from the vibranium, as it can be very dangerous in the wrong hands.
Vibranium can change energy from one form to another. That's both why it enables amazing technologies, why it's so prized by advanced alien civilizations, and why the Wakandans developed technology sooner than any other group of humans.
Because it is prized by aliens, they have already had to fight off numerous alien invasions, which further accelerated their technological advancement.
Think of Wakanda as a first world nation, only moreso. Remember, Marvel heroes have flaws, and this includes the entire nation of Wakanda. They can be arrogant, xenophobic, and like America, they tend to ignore the jurisdiction of other nations simply because no one can stop them.
They once had a war with Latveria, a fictional Eastern European nation ruled by a supervillain. Both nations use both science and magic. Wakanda has superior technology, but Latveria gives them trouble because Latveria is willing to use demon magic. (The monarch fights all of Hell by himself every year on the anniversary of his mother's death. He always loses, but the fact that all of Hell has yet to kill him is a testament to how strong he is.)
This will make you sad. On the first watch, everyone assumes it's T'Chaka talking to a young T'Challa, but it's actually N'Jobu and Eric.
I love that this whole movie could have been avoided if T'Challa listened to Nakia in the beginning.
The actress playing Okoye wrote a paper in grad school arguing that Hollywood should make a movie just like Black Panther. She assumed no one would.
Killmonger is one of the greatest Marvel villains ever.
The Egyptian goddess Bast moved from Egypt to Wakanda to be worshipped by T'Challa's tribe. She is the reason Wakandan kings can consult with any dead Wakandan king. Because of the Land of the Dead, Wakandan history extends back to before the invention of writing.
I love the movie version of M'Baku so much! His people reject technology, so they are kind of like the Wakandan version of the Amish, only a lot more violent.
There is nothing wrong with empathizing with Killmonger. Like Magneto, his goals are noble, but his methods would reverse the role of the oppressor and the oppressed without addressing the cause of the oppression.
In the comic books, White Wolf is a different person (T'Challa's white adopted brother). The White Wolf is the first immigrant of Wakanda, and given how xenophobic they can be, he has it rough. Eventually, he will be in charge of the War Dogs (Nakia's group).
