I review the new 2024 TaylorMade P770 Iron & P7CB Iron, both forged golf clubs that look fantastic and aimed at the mid to low handicap golfer. I run through the technology, looks, feel and provide TrackMan data on the performances of these stunning golf irons.

spin rates look a bit low, but when I tested a P770 a couple of years ago I found that the spin rates were also a little lower than I get with my i210s (same loft). Difficult to argue against the peak height and descent angles though.
I would definitely want to test these on course going into a green before buying, should be ok accept on hardish green - which is what my local course has right now!

Great video as always! Love my MCs, however: I’ll sign up for the 4i right now 🤤

P7CB is a modern take on the famous RAC and RAC TP irons of the early 2000s. Really a great looking iron. They are gorgeous in person and much friendlier than the P7MC.

Can you compare your take on the Wilson Pro Staff iron vs the TM P7CB? Your review of the Wilson a few years ago convinced me to purchase them and I have never looked back. This new review of the P7CB has me wondering if a change is in the cards. Great reviews. Keep up the good work.

I like the last generation p770 looks better but the new ones look the perform great. I like that they make them easy to blend with the cb set. I currently play 243 2 weak and wish it was easier to blend something like the 245 in the long irons.

Thank you for always showing the club on the ground with the balI, I like Club Champion as well but holy… show us the clubs

So true. That's club champion, they don't want a client's opinion on looks, feel, sound, they only care about performance. If you don't choose the club that performs the best during testing, their attitude changes. I get it for higher handicaps, but anyone under 5 handicap or so cares far more about the profile at address and feel rather than a few yards or a few hundred revs of spin. I guess most of their clients can't crack an egg on the course. Better to give the business to a smaller fitter or builder.

Thanks for all the high quality reviews. Can you say what shafts were in the CB's? I believe stock shaft is the DG 115 S300 but maybe X100? Cheers.

Even as a Titleist guy, I’ve got my eye on those CB’s. Looks more forgiving than the Titleist CB’s, and I hate all these hollow headed irons every brand in the world is releasing nowadays.

    Hello, Michael
TM says that P7CB contains tungsten on its sole which isnt a part of P7MC. Can you recognized P7CB provides easier ball striking as an impact of the tungsten than P7MC?

Nest club reviewer in the game. I like Ian Fraser as well but they never show the club on the ground and compare.

Would the cb be like the t100 or more like 150

How would these compare to the T150s? Do you think the TaylorMade is for a slightly better player? Or are these for the same type of player?

Seems from the reviews that TM just came out with a new iron, but it doesn't have a lot of excitement behind them? Everyone has hit them and went "they are nice" and that's it. Guess i'll wait for Apex?

Because they are irons, all that’s really changed is marketing tune. Most people won’t see a difference

Jeez, the CB is an ugly looking thing from the back, Michael. Not a lot of shelf appeal there. Does it replace the significantly better looking P7MC, or is this a new iron like the Titleist T150?
