I'm not exactly sure how licensing works, but there is a price tier for different level of licensing. There might be a loophole where buying the rights to publish on a unit or device to play these things is different to publishing on a console, or maybe capcom didn't pay the license for these games, but Arcade 1up and who ever made this capcom stick paid FOX(Disney?) and Capcom for the rights.

Hardware - the mobo is similar to what's inside the Super Retrocade by Retrobit - based on the Orange Pi 2 afaik. The Super Retrocade is open to mods easily, via. It's usb or SD, and can use lakka cfw if you use a boot etcher.
Am a little surprised this has not been similarly 'unlocked'' using its inbuilt usb port. The All winner SOC plays the older stuff really well. Because of the low level of onboard flash ram, these SOC based units are maybe best powered down (restarted) between game changes....helps to flush the memory maybe?

Maybe the stutter U r experiencing are related to a hung up service that is still trying to connect once u tried to enable a wifi connection. This is a CPU sharing limitation and its mostly related to a code bug, so a connection is opened to check for a server and it's unresponsive, then it will keep retrying on the background while you are elsewhere playing games

Crazy how you don’t like bilinear filtering because it smears the pixels together despite the removal of shimmering, but in modern games, you’re fine with TAA and other post process AA solutions that blur the fuck out of the image and ruin the in surface detail of all these high quality assets 🤔🤔

I bought this thing in a sale literally a day before Arcade Stadium was announced and to add insult to injury Arcade Stadium is the better product. You'd think Capcom would want their games running optimally, especially with a product that's essentially their corporate logo. While 1.6 corrected some of the worst issues with it, it didn't go far enough. Will we ever see a 1.7 update to achieve parity with the Capcom Arcade Stadium? They managed to get that right with an update. Why not the Home Arcade? The games still suffer from a lack of features such as auto-fire and there is still noticeable input latency not present in Arcade Stadium. With the inclusion of Sanwa parts, it seemed that Capcom/Koch actually spent some time on design and implementation, but now have seemingly abandoned it and refuse to engage.

This is relatively easy fix fix here - it's in the bug reporting thread, here you go...
Some WiFi access points may fail to connect (usually in the case where there is a space in the WiFi name). This issue is currently being worked on. The current workaround solutions are as follows: Either Connect to a WiFi network that does not have a space in the name or manually change the name of the WiFi network you are trying to connect to to be continuous and without any spaces.
Please tell us how you got on thanks

Honestly, that form factor seems so incredibly stupid. Do a small box I can connect to the TV and give me two separate arcade sticks to connect to that via USB. Why put all of that in one unwieldy box that forces you to just throw that HDMI wire in your living room and makes playing together impossible unless you have a couch or like sitting on the floor.
It's just so.... pointless and impractical?

@@retrosoul8770 " very sadly arcade oriented games like shooters and beat em ups, linear games etc are generally not appreciated here in the states compared to Japan and other places" - dude, the success of the Arcade 1ups, the Nintendo Classics, the Genesis Mini are total proof this isn't true at all...there's a whole bunch of shooters and beat em ups, that's what half of 80's gaming (home or arcade) was all about.

People are buying them because they're iconic systems/games that people grew up with and that's great but that's not what I'm referring too. Also I said "generally" not appreciated. Yes many in the states love these kinds of games but they're still not as historically well regarded as rpgs and big adventure/open world style games. It's primarily why 2D arcade stuff was shunned during the PS1 era where in Japan 2D arcade style games were still beloved and popular. It's why GTA3 blew up on Ps2, but no one knows what Gradius V is (even though it's a masterpiece).
Go on almost any American written Top games of all time list, how many ones will you find Streets of Rage 2, Thunder Force IV, Raiden II, Einhander, arcade Final Fight, arcade Gradius, Daytona USA? Not many. Ign's recent trash Top 100 all time games list is further evidence of this and reason for why I strongly dislike them.

@@retrosoul8770 "they're still not as historically well regarded as rpgs and big adventure/open world style games" - lol except the overwhelming majority of youtube gaming channels prove that's BS....most of them still play those older style games (along with newer ones as well).
"It's a primarily reason why 2D arcade stuff was shunned during the PS1 era" - i agree it was shunned THEN, because (and i was the same, as i kept upgrading from 8 bit to 16 to 32 etc) the new thing was 3D and polygons and first person etc. We all thought we'd never want to play those old 2d style games again, but the majority of aging gamers (like myself) have come back to it (in fact i barely even touch my Xbox anymore...i keep coming back to my SNES and MAME)...not to mention huge 2d retro style hits like Splunky and Shovel Knight show how there's a big appetite for that kind of gaming (from ALL ages).
"Go on almost any American written Top games of all time list" - those lists (which are VERY subjective) are mostly written by younger gamers that weren't even old enough to experience an 80s arcade, so quite frankly their opinion has to be taken with a grain of salt (they didn't get to see the full picture).
