At 205 worked for me 2012 Altima 200k miles typical oil cooler leak ..did it once and Bailey leaks anything anymore!!! 6 oil changes later ❤ Scotty!! Thank you also man
There's an oil cooler gasket that's VERY easy to replace. If you can do an oil change you change that gasket. Recently did it on my wife's pathfinder. Several videos on youtube.
Scotty, I have a 2007 toyota Matrix with about 212,000 miles on it and it runs like it is new. I have replaced the transmission fluids 2 times, have changed to fully synthetic oil every 8,000 miles. I changed the drive belt, alternator, water pump, and drive belt tension-er (had to undo engine mounts to lift engine). For the first time after 212,000 miles I recharged the R134a refrigerant in the 2007 Matrix. I only added about 2 ounces. I do not use me air conditioning very often even in southern calirornia. I even drained and changed my break fluid with brake pads, rotors, and shoes. The Toyota Matrix 2007 is a very well designed and built car.

I can attest to what you are saying Scotty. I recently added it to the transmission of a Honda Pilot that was leaking via the torque converter seal, and in a matter of 10 days, the leak completely stopped and the trans now maintains proper oil level. As a 42 years experienced auto mechanic, I have used ATP products many times WITHOUT FAIL! I will next use it on a 2009 Camry 2.4L auto transmission that is leaking via the transmission case slit located just before the torque converter housing area.
Hi Scotty, I beg to differ, i have a 2000 Toyota Corolla with 149890 miles, and im a back yard mechanic myself, it runs better than when it was new. The 1998 - 2000 was the best Corolla EVER made. I even opened the intake and exhaust up more - put an external chip on the mas air, AND yes they do work" put a 4 speed auto transmission with overdrive from a 3 speed auto , K&M oil and air filter, Mobile one 20-50 , And, 92 octane gas,and yes it makes a difference in my Corolla, it just plain hauls A. im sure it has about 170 horses ..Im an 8 cylinder guy and this satisfy"s me a lot...Love your videos Scotty.
At nearly 150k mileage, your Corolla is still basically a baby, man....excellent choice, Toyotas! Give easily got another 150k! Have always loved Toyotas, myself. ❤
Scotty My Honda 07 still running excellent! 160k now! You have helped me keeping it running smooth since I got it with 120k 5 years ago! I’m a gal and I Love your videos!! I do all the work. Love it!! ❤
I have a 2004 Toyota Hilux Ute , manual 2.7L done 260 000 kms runs like a dream , wouldn't trade it for the world . I wouldn't put my life in a driver less car , really like your clips mate.
I still regret letting go of my 79 Corolla (old model, they had both old and new that year). It may have not worked as well when it was broken, but you could literally fix it to be functional with some bubble gum if you had to.
70 years old my my you look great and you’re doing a great job. Keep up the work and don’t quit doing what you’re doing. We all appreciate you tremendously. Thank you.😊
GREAT stuff scotty for stopping seal leaks. Then in a few hundred miles the swealed seal just pops out and oil is pouring out of the seal. Thai is what happened to me.
Mr. Kilmer references AT205. I use it differently. In the old days, I would take a car in for an oil change and a lube job. Well, the concept of a lube job disappeared in manufacturers' manuals. However, the need remained. When you go under a car and look, there are a number of rubberized looking materials. The technical term(s) is not important. That rubberized material has to be kept supple so that it doesn't harden and crack. You also know that metal on metal contact results in wear when two metal parts come into contact. I discovered that not all mechanics have 40 years experience in servicing cars. So I take in my AT205 and a list of what is to be "lubricated" under the car each time I have an oil change.
I met a NAPA salesman that told me ATP normally did not purchase other Co. He said it was developed in a guys garage. When he finally got ATP to look at this product, they were sold right away. Great product! And it does not Deteriorate the rubber, just condition. Wiper blades also!
I worked in an engine rebuilding shop before i became an apprentice They supplies rebuilt engines to lots of businesses Their warranty was very low mile It was an assembly line Everything was reconditioned and resized What i learned as an apprentice and a mechanic was that they didn't clean the cylinder bores after boreing and honeing As a mechanic i learned the bores needed to be cleaned until when you rubbed a rag into it it wouldn't pick up any colour They just put a number of them on end into a washer and with detergent they rotated in front of a number of spray nozzles The rings seat quickly but a lot of milage comes out in the first oilchange
I got a hand-me-down 97SLS Cadillac. It had that North Star engine and it was leaking fluid to the point where I couldn't keep it in the car and it was overheating. I was told that it was too expensive to repair, like you said and it is and was a worthless car because of the problems of replacing and repairing the leak and the engine itself with the head gasket and the screws. We're Too small because of what they had to do with the multivalve engine at the time, so the solution is to replace it with an ls engine and then you can still use the car and you have a good engine that won't have the problems of the North Star.
I was a Journeyman at Caterpillar. There was a problem with seeping flyw Truckers did not like to see seeping in the pretty paint. When the units were brought in they expect a big bill to remove trans and flywheel housing. We, the mechanics, decided to spray the cover with brake clean and repaint with Cat yellow paint which is high temp with epoxy. Every mechanic had 5 or 8 cans in their tool box. The boss would charge them for 1/2 hour for inspection and repair and we told custome we think it was really a sensor o-rin and charged him .58 cents. We told him if it still comes back seeping we will check again, but no need to stick them with a big bill for a seep. If it was warranty, The Cat warranty would pay the shop about 1/2 the labor cost to do it and it would also be a loss for the shop. When a customer would come back, he would 99.9% say that problem was fixed and he was brining it back for a tune-up or other repairs. Truckers would come to our shop because we had not a single unethical mechanic or manager. We did what we could to keep all expenses down with the highest quality work. Sometimes we would have40-50 trucks in parking lot waiting to be fixed !
I used two cans on a 50 year old C6 with 100k miles and it greatly slowed down the front pump seal leak. That seal has been leaking for 30 years ever since I put a shift kit in it. That ATS 205 is the ONLY stuff that really slowed the leak. It tried every trans additive over the decades and nothing helped for long. Very impressive stuff! Worth the $ since type F is hard to find and expensive to keep adding.
Even if you can work on them yourself, aren't the parts higher than normal ? Scotty also talks about they use a lot of plastic parts today that break down fast
There is a strong active community to help find parts at a reasonable cost. There is an M tax though. It seemed like every repair on my M5 was $1000. The plastic issue is German law/regs. Many of these have metal replacement parts available.
@@asadb1990 I don't recommend cars with personality to normal people. Toyota all the way, just like Scotty. I've had GM, Hyundai, Ford, Toyota, Datsun, VW. I keep coming back to BMW & GM. And I avoid ALL the new stuff.
Scotty, I still see corollas from the 90’s on the road! The only other 30 years old cars are the Mazdas & Nissans from those years. Mostly Mazda & Nissan small pickups & the Mazda Miata.
Hey Scotty, I have a 2017 dodge charger sxt with 98k miles. Its paid and it doesn’t have any problems, but do you think I should just trade it in and get something more reliable before it breaks down
I saw a video that they guy wondered if AT-205 reformulated, didn't work as well. The old stuff had a smell to it and worked great, the new odorless one doesn't work well.
I had a 09 5spd manual toyota camry, it had 155k miles on it when I had to get rid of it and never had a single problem with it in the 13 years I had it. I think toyota makes some of the best cars, I've had two and both had zero issues.
I used this at your recommendation and made the mistake of mentioning that I did so to my 70+ year old mechanic. First of all, from what I can tell, it worked and stopped the leak! But my mechanic said that this was the most dumbbell thing I could have done to my engine because I may have also stopped oil flow not only to a seal, but to other critical parts of the engine. He told me a slow leak is nothing to worry about and to just keep on top of it by frequently checking my oil level and to never do something so dumb again. So…[sigh]…what am I supposed to take away from this experience? I’d love to hear your reply.
Honestly, if it stopped oil flow to critical parts of your engine, you would probably hear it clattering if it clogged up the pick up tube of the oil light would come on.
Three things I've found actually do work,, the ATF 205,, the CRF 505 and Tribotex. The men who created CRF 505 spend a million dollars. This stuff will clean all the carbon out of your engine in 15 minutes, the oil will run out as black as soot. My oil consumption improved from a quart every 750 miles to a quart every 1500 miles. This Tribotex is a nano particle super lubricity agent that coats friction surfaces, it quietened by car down and it runs far smoother. The CRF 505 is the most radical fixer for oil consumption frees up the rings.
Very interesting presentation, and I may try the product. I have a very slight leak from a rear main crankshaft seal, but it is minor. It could increase with time, however and I appreciate your presentation on this product. With respect to rear main seals, it is NOT always necessary to remove the transmission. If you have a TWO PIECE SEAL, it is possible to to remove the upper portion of the seal by Pushing and then pulling it around the top of the crankshaft sealing surface. Most experienced long time mechanics (If you can find one) will verify this. There is also a You Tube presentation showing how it is done on a Chevy 350 C.I. engine. Thanks for the presentations Scotty.....I really enjoy them :)
I am sure Scotty that a good cylinder leakage test would help diagnose where the prolems are. I never pulled a cylinder head without doing the leakage test first so the customer pretty well knows if it is worn out rings, valve leakage or a leaking head gasket back in the 60's,70,s etc. most of us new what we were doing and had the tooling we needed...
Brother my 2001 Chevy runs great it just seems to be losing torque or power when I'm climbing a hill on the interstate. I have no warning lights, don't smoke, sounds good looks OK too.
RE: Mis-fire on that 2006 Pontiac G-6 - I've had a 2005 Malibu 3.5 lire V6 for 19 years. It pops out the tailpipe on occaison too and I have witnessed other Malibus do it as well. When winter comes the motor will misfire and stumble when the motor cranks first thing in morning, again on occaison. Moving to higher octane fuel in winter reduces that significantly and better fuel absorbs the moisture build up in the tank.
Scotty Here's a riddle for you, I have a 2010 SS Chevy, Camaro. Multiple shops and dealerships can't figure out the problem. Always slow start and sometimes extra slow. But more so, after running errands, starting and stopping the vehicle multiple times. It goes into limp mode runs like crap, delay on the accelerator, backfires, stabilitrack and traction control lights come on and rpm gauge stays at 0 while running, sometimes it just keeps turning and doesn't start. Having to replace the battery every eight months or so, but consistently has 12+ Volts before starting. Engine codes keeps saying crankshaft position sensor, but it's been replaced twice. It's a reman engine, but I had this problem with the original engine too, and I have also added an extra ground from the engine to the body because I heard the factory ground isn't good enough. In addition to that, there has been a factory recall on the ignition switch, but it has been replaced. And the funny thing is that when all this happens if I let it sit for a while and then come back it starts up just fine. This has been going on for a couple years, and i'm tired of it. Do you have any idea what this could be?
93 gmc k1500 I might have to look into 205 I'm having some issues with my transmission no leaks but it's making a loud noise only when it's shift to reverse at the moment
Good to know about the AT205 Reseal. Don’t need it in either vehicle yet, but will keep it in mind. Also with self-driving cars it is amazing what AI can do. And it is almost equally amazing what AI cannot do (yet). So far most 16 year olds can (and sometimes) do a better job at learning to drive.
I used to be a mechanic I do not approve of the statement... You Simply keep your timing belt Changed at the stated intervals and you're owners manual .. !!!! The engines that are interference usually get the best gas mileage and the most horsepower for the small size of the engine.
@@BOBHLDRMN What statement don't you approve? What we're saying is it's stupid to make a component that's critical to the engine's timing out of rubber. The only reason why they made this very important piece out of rubber is because it's cheaper to make them. (THAT'S IT, NO OTHER REASON) What was wrong with sticking to timing chains? And as for gas mileage they don't do any better than the next. My 1999 Accord V6 (WHICH I'VE HAD FOR OVER 17 YEARS) supposedly gets an EPA of 20-28 (CITY, HWY) So how's that better. (AND THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY A SMALL ENGINE) So whether you approve or not it was stupid making them out of rubber

This guy is awesome! Love his sense of humor too! Thanks scotty!
I even drained and changed my break fluid with brake
pads, rotors, and shoes.
The Toyota Matrix 2007 is a very well designed and built car.

We all grew up in a generation of watching our dad and our uncles doing " shade tree " mechanics.
And that was enough to help multiple generations learn how to work on cars... .
Its tuff with all these new car's..
Damn near impossible 😕...
Bring it back to the SHADE TREE days. Dangit
Good tip, spray AT-205 on your rubber parts under your car, it will keep the rubber from drying out.
You could also use wd40 specialist silicone spray. Also just as good.
I'm also wondering what ethanol is doing to my 1999. They say older cars don't like it.
I have used this multiple times in various cars. It does work if the leak is not bad, but won't work if the leak is too much.
Scotty , your honest and down to earth.... God Bless

I still regret letting go of my 79 Corolla (old model, they had both old and new that year). It may have not worked as well when it was broken, but you could literally fix it to be functional with some bubble gum if you had to.
I can't believe they are already on the roads. Do driverless cars obey the laws. If one hits you will it stop and give you insurance info ?
At205 worked in my ranger. It worked
I have a 2006 Lexus LX 470 with 223k miles. The thing runs like a Swiss watch. Amazing truck.
Ok, does that mean youre using AT205? Curious cuz i have an 08 Lexus with over 200k as well..but it still runs like new.
Rear main seals are the money makers for shops. No wonder professional mechanics denounce using of AT205.
Got the infamous oil leak on my 2011 sierra and now after watching this, i might give that at 205 a look before I start ripping the oil pan out
70 years old my my you look great and you’re doing a great job.
I just bought a 05 Ford freestyle with 145k on it ,I'd love to see it run forever. I'll give ATP 205 a try1 thanks Scotty!!
I use it in my 96 suburban 7.4 300 k no leaks still runs like new I do well maintain it there are no miracles.
I worked in an engine rebuilding shop before i became an apprentice
They supplies rebuilt engines to lots of businesses
Their warranty was very low mile
It was an assembly line
Everything was reconditioned and resized
What i learned as an apprentice and a mechanic was that they didn't clean the cylinder bores after boreing and honeing
As a mechanic i learned the bores needed to be cleaned until when you rubbed a rag into it it wouldn't pick up any colour
They just put a number of them on end into a washer and with detergent they rotated in front of a number of spray nozzles
The rings seat quickly but a lot of milage comes out in the first oilchange
Scotty that stuffs Amazing I've had it stop power steering leaks.
We're
Too small because of what they had to do with the multivalve engine at the time, so the solution is to replace it with an ls engine and then you can still use the car and you have a good engine that won't have the problems of the North Star.
Those cars are giant PsOS, for sure.
AT-205 is some great stuff. I actually use it on Seadoos

OMG he is hilarious 😂
I'm going to try to remember to do that the next time I've had a few, see if he sounds normal.
This is true, had to try it and it made me laugh
I used two cans on a 50 year old C6 with 100k miles and it greatly slowed down the front pump seal leak. That seal has been leaking for 30 years ever since I put a shift kit in it. That ATS 205 is the ONLY stuff that really slowed the leak. It tried every trans additive over the decades and nothing helped for long. Very impressive stuff! Worth the $ since type F is hard to find and expensive to keep adding.
Loved every single BMW I've ever owned. One 535i went over 400k. Did all work myself. Find friends that work on their cars. Have fun. Learn. Enjoy.
I wish I'd never had sold my '85 524TD.

Hey Scotty, I have a 2017 dodge charger sxt with 98k miles. Its paid and it doesn’t have any problems, but do you think I should just trade it in and get something more reliable before it breaks down
That stuff is the best out there , love your show.
I saw a video that they guy wondered if AT-205 reformulated, didn't work as well. The old stuff had a smell to it and worked great, the new odorless one doesn't work well.
I only put it in every other oil change and find it works just fine. Using it in every oil changes messes the oil viscosity.
If it didn’t work, that means whatever seal is leaking is too far gone for AT205 to fix
@MrOiram46 Exactly, it won't fuse cracked seals, just rejuvenate them.
Get a new mechanic
Honestly, if it stopped oil flow to critical parts of your engine, you would probably hear it clattering if it clogged up the pick up tube of the oil light would come on.
It's only a seal conditioner...but it only buys you time, it doesn't make your seals last forever.
It just swells seals. It doesn’t “plug” holes
I'd say he doesn't know as much about that particular fluid as Scotty does.
Love You Scotty Thanks for all You Do!!!!!!!!❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤
Scotty is the best😊
Three things I've found actually do work,, the ATF 205,, the CRF 505 and Tribotex. The men who created CRF 505 spend a million dollars. This stuff will clean all the carbon out of your engine in 15 minutes, the oil will run out as black as soot. My oil consumption improved from a quart every 750 miles to a quart every 1500 miles. This Tribotex is a nano particle super lubricity agent that coats friction surfaces, it quietened by car down and it runs far smoother. The CRF 505 is the most radical fixer for oil consumption frees up the rings.
I would love to try CRF 505 on my car. I have to refill one litre every month.
Is it available in Europe?
Love you Scotty! You the man!

Scotty, you are amazing. Thank you for many years of info..

High mileage oil will do this too. High mileage oil once made my oil leak worst.
Replace the gas pedal it’s electric and they go bad
Also check the speed sensor

Good to know about the AT205 Reseal. Don’t need it in either vehicle yet, but will keep it in mind. Also with self-driving cars it is amazing what AI can do. And it is almost equally amazing what AI cannot do (yet). So far most 16 year olds can (and sometimes) do a better job at learning to drive.
Good video Scotty! Driverless cars sound crazy man
Interference engines should be a crime!
Especially with rubber timing belts
Thank the government
