That video was very nice, i was wondering, what are solutions that i could use if i want to practice djembe playing without disturbing my neighbours (i live in an appartment)
You have to go out... I’m going out everyday... I’ve tried towels on top and on bottom, doesn’t work
Excellent question! I’ve had quite a bit of trouble with this myself. Playing in an apartment simply won’t work, playing outdoors might also not work many times - I realized I was still disturbing people outside 🤪 and some got really angry (understood).
But the solution can be either a music studio (not the easiest to find or rent) or outside in a forest or a big park, where people don’t pass you by closely. At the moment I’m filming (thus playing) next to a road in a town - there’s a little playground area which nobody ever uses. Sort of works.
Once I also played some djembe in my dad’s van - great acoustics in a big car, by the way 😁
@@DjembeMaster Thank you for your answer aand yupp playing outside that's what i'm trying to do most of the time, but here in Quebec, it's kind of impossible to de so during winter, fall and automn x) but i might try to find a place where i can practice without disturbing anyone. I heard about putting a pillow or something in the djembe and/or put a hoodie on it but it really just cut the bass out and that's pretty much it :/

This is a primitive drum and spending that much attention to it is like learning all the nuances and techniques of drawing with crayons.

@@ericschnipke874 You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However you have not persuaded me that my comment is not valid. All I can conclude is that your taste runs to primitive drums and you really don't care about musical playing.
Last time I checked, 100% of the world traveling troubadours who do musical performances professionally and collaborate with me, said they very much appreaciated playing with me due to the way I approach the djembe. But I guess they all could be wrong.
@@DjembeMaster I do not dispute your claim. However, I' sure that 100% of rap and hip hop people also think their performances are high class music. Most real musicians I know do not agree and consider those forms as not being music.
