Every video, every rhythm, every stroke are filled with amazing power and energy. Thank you from Thailand :)
Thanks, Dmitry! Much love to Thailand - can't wait to go back ♥
I've had a djembe for such a long time, but never lived in a space where I could play it freely. A couple months ago I've finally been in a place to play, and then I find your channel! Unreal content mate.
Super amazing to read! Also glad this can be of use ☺️
Огромное спасибо за твою работу! Найти педагога там, где я живу, очень сложно. Работаю с твоими видео)
Those beats are so good! I’m having a great time. Thank you !
Fantastic!
Epic dude! Some nice new beats to learn!
Cheers! More on the way 👨🏻🍳
Great , thx a lot! :)
best lessons djembe in all youtube! Thank's bro!
Cheers! 😎
Wow👍🏻
Brilliant beats difficult to play, your drum has great sound mine is OK but hasn't got that really tight sound like your does 👍
More videos like this pleeeeeease
Thx so much
Sure thing 👊🏻
hello! love your vids, your content is a great source of inspiration for me!
I have a question, how are you recording all this? connecting you mic with a camera or a phone? and how did you attach the mic to the djembé?
could you perhaps make a video about how to record yourself, and some more information about a decent set up to start with?
Hey, thanks! I use the iPhone 14 Pro for recording video, sound is mostly going through Logic Pro (not always) and I use a Shure bass drum mic (Beta 52A)
Sometimes a dynamic mic for top end (Shure SM57), but mostly some condenser mic as the overhead (not sure, I think the brand is AIR).
My voice is mostly going through a Sennheiser wireless mic system. Then a little compression and limiter to all the channels and export :)
Oh Ian, your volumne 1 drum set beats with djembe course just drove me crazy at the beginning.🤯 Difficult. If for example one lesson started from the left hand and the second from the right one I just coudn't change hands as if they were living their own secret life.😵 But I remember what you said "SLOWLY!!!!!" And suddenly I have started to hear the pattern in my head and then my hands followed it without problems. What a joy!! 😃 So today I have been able to play some beats along with you💪🙂
And as for the time signature or notes- could you possible make some basic lessons about music theory, and how does that relate to djemebe . Regards. Great lesson.👏
Thanks! And so great to read about your progress ☺️
Time Signature Video is a great idea. Although I got a degree in classical piano and sure did some sheet music reading 🎼, I will have to update myself on the matter.
And then❕make that video 😎
@@DjembeMaster Definitely I am making progress (at last!) which makes me very happy. Don't worry about that update - as for the music theory I am a complete dumb🥴 so would be grateful for whatsoever.
Perhaps do a lesson with simple note counting first (you know "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and / 1 e & a 2 e & a ...etc).
PS. I've always wanted to play a piano, how come I ended up with a djemebe ?🙃
@@DjembeMaster I love the idea of a time signature video/music theory as well. Because of your videos, I've been able to start playing the djembe with my worship band at church. The odd time signatures like 3/4 or 5/4 often throw me for a loop.
The djembe and other drums have the “advantage” of not having to deal with scales - meaning it’s one layer less complicated.
But the piano sure is one of the best musical instruments to learn. Posture can be healthy (unlike the violin and some other instruments), all fingers are applied and quite equally.
✌🏻У меня вопрос: на джембе какого размера ты играешь? Какие критерии выбора?
14” & 12”
What note do you tune the Mondo djembes to? Both 14" and 16"
I haven’t tuned any djembe (or other drum) to a specific note so far. Have just gone by what I hear and like… 🤪
@@DjembeMaster thanks!
You lose me when ypu increase speeds
Therefore I'll going stick with slow until I can play faster thanks.
