4:06 when it comes to strengthening transfers pre-application, Microscale makes a liquid decal film that restores and strengthens old/thin decals so they won't disolve in water. I've been using it a lot on some old 30 year old Champ decals
I wonder if the lining transfers you tried to use are the sort that need to be blasted with clearcoat or decal film before you try to apply them. I do hope you're able to revisit him some day with cleaner lining.

I think you should update your standard gauge engines as well (alongside with everyone else like roads minimum ECT) I mean you're willing to make your narrow gauge engines beautiful and realistic But you never took a deep dive into making your own ideal Thomas, James, Gordon ECT I think you should try and have a go at them Good luck if you will!
