Magical Christmas Market in Historic Bernkastel-Kues, Germany

Greetings from the Bernkastel-Kues Christmas Market! We can't begin to describe how excited we were to go to a Christmas market after two years of markets being closed. With the COVID numbers increasing in Germany, we weren't sure if Christmas markets would be open but luckily we were able to enjoy it. In this episode, we visit the picturesque Christmas market in the historic and medieval town of Bernkastel-Kues. This Christmas Market has been regarded as one of the best in the area with a unique Advent Calendar that is the largest in the region. Our visit was unbelievably good and although we have not visited every Christmas Market in Europe, we can say that this is one our favorite Christmas markets in Germany. The atmosphere was incredible, the food and drinks were delicious and the handmade crafts were unique.
Don't miss the video clip about the Santa Torch Swimmers (fackelschwimmen) on the Mosel river that we experienced three years ago along with a short history about Burg Landshut that towers over this magnificent city.

My first Christmas Market ever, when I first started to work in tourism, it is truly beautiful, especially when it snows. However, it is lovely all year round, one of my favourite places - herrlich - and as for the Reibkuchen mit Apfelmus - my mouth is watering, love them.
